What an amazing experience. Here’s a little overview of what went down...

My trip started off with nearly 24 hours in transit. These long international trips are so overwhelming, but somehow we make it through and our brains tend to erase the boring hours and all that’s left is a weird blur (or is that just me?). The oddest thing is arriving on the other side of the world and the first thing I see in the Doha airport is an ad for VCU*!

The event I was brought out for was called Rasta (which apparently means path, and was not meant to be connected to Bob Marley in any way). It was the first of its kind art/creativity event created by a new Doha based sports marketing firm called Kotinios. It was set entirely outdoors at the Old Doha Port, a beautiful market area that’s also a functioning marina. They brought out a dozen international artists who they had found through viral social media content. I was by far the oldest artist there and nowhere near the most well known.
