I have decided that I keeping two seperate journals is a real pain in the ass so I am officially ending this journal with this post.
Man claims he was attacking a goat with an ax, when it turned into his brother. Now this isn't the weird part, it's the final paragraph. Murder suspects in Nigeria, where many people believe in black magic, sometimes claim spirits tricked them into killing. In 2001, eight people were burned to death after one person in their group was accused of making a bystander's penis magically disappear.

Woman spends 14K over a period of 40 years on a leased rotary phone. The obvious questions and comments aside... I'm wondering how she returned it. A phone installed in the 60's would've been a hardwired phone. How does one return a hardwired phone?

That nurse in Oregon who caught a burglar by surprise and strangled him? Turns out he was there to kill here, a hit hired by her husband, whom she was divorcing.

Gas prices are down signifigantly. How pleasing! Course some folks are claiming that gas companies costs have dropped by a lot more and are reufsing to pass the full savings on to the individual station owners or to us...

How to use a bidet. Ok, it's pretty much what i expected, so I won't be as hesitant as I would've been otherwise.

The Tom Sawyer diner in Paramus burnt down two days ago

So who watched Survivor <strike>race war</strike> Cook islands. I was not surprised by the reaction to the announcement that this years Survivor was going to be seperated by race. I sort of expected that sort of nonsense. i think it was a lot of hullabaloo, the question is, was Mark Burnett hoping for the hulabas reaction or not? Because once you look at it negatively, it's lose-lose. If there is racial drama, you're racec baiting and a horrid person. And if there is no racial drama and it's just Survivor as usual (which it turned out to be) then folk say that there was no racial issues and it was all a stunt.

Perhaps it was a stunt. perhaps not. But I don't think you can say that it was a stunt simply because there was no racial drama. If seperating by race is bad, then so is gender and age, and I don't recall anyone whining about it last season or in Amazon. I also think that having much more non-whites is a good thing. When there's one lazy black guy, or one whiny asian woman, you can sterotype all black men as being lazy, or all asian women as whiny. When there are five black people or five asians, it's not so easy. you realize that everyone is an individual after all.

In short, STFU about how horrid the racial divide is and just watch.

That said, it was a somewhat boring premiere. But then again, to me, almost every premiere is boring except for the one with Rupert when they to neogitate with islanders, and the season where they hiked for 15 miles. THAT was drama. i generally don't get too into the show until about 6 or 7 people have been eliminated cause there's just too much going on to follow....

I won the amazing race contest, I was #11 out of I don't-know-how-many-entries! I definately have to say thanks to all the folks who helped me with the clues, I couldn't have finished it w-o you. Now I'm sure you're wondering "what did I win?" and the answer is "I DON'T KNOW!" there are 35 prizes for the first 35 finishers but they are distributed randomnly, so I'll know probably by tuesday. I didn't drive 2000 miles in 18 days and spend $300, on gas for nothing!

THANK YOU GUYS!

Cool! I know someone on youtube!

This is insane. A police chief quit his job because of the fact that the town disapproved that his wife posted nude pictures of herself online Not I said *his wife* not him. District Attorney John Wampler has asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate. "In my opinion, the photos that I was shown are obscene based on local community standards," he said. what an asshole. I apoplaud the mayor for standing up to the media and critics, that took guts.

Memory device the size of a shirt button sends info out to reader device. This RFID style chip actually sounds very very cool. I can imagine readers being built into cell phones. It makes perfect sense.

Interesting article about Warcaft. I really want to see the youtube video described in thre article, but have had no luck. ANyopne know where I can find this?

Another example of questionable behavior is viewable in a video that more than 80,000 people have accessed on YouTube. When one guild member died (in real life, not Azeroth), his grieving friends decided to hold a funeral for him inside the game. The solemn affair was disrupted when a rival guild burst upon the unarmed mourners and slaughtered them mercilessly. "It's unfortunate that someone would do that to people trying to honor one of their guild members," says Mike Morhaime, Blizzard's president. Another event that bothered Blizzard's management was an in-game protest march, when hundreds of naked Gnomes gathered to call for more powers

work stuff:

A few months back we started a new *ahem* security procedure. To discuss your account you have to verify any of the following: your account #, a recent payment amt, the contact # you gave us, or a toll call on the bill. We all scoffed, thinking "this is sooooo stupid." It's not gonna keep the kids from cxalling to lift the 900 block" or whatever stuff the billnig name might notm want changed.

Turns out it was never implemewnted to keep family away.

As the recent scandal at HP reminds us, pretexting is a real privacy issue. (pretexting is when someone calls a company and pretends to be the responsibile party in the hopes of gaining access to account information and/or making changes) There was a huff about this not long ago over these companies that brazenly advertised that they could get you your ex-girlfriends phone bill for $100, and they did it by pretexting.

So if we require you to know something off the bill you can't pretext apparently. or at least it's much harder anyway.

oh, in other news, I want this phone

OMG I was wondering if Chilltown was actually going to get all the way to the F2, but alas, Janelle had to actually pull off her blinders and talk with Ericka. 'America must be laughing their asses off at us!" Why yes, yes we were. It is utterly amazing that Will tried to get evicted at the start and still folks wouldn't evict him, even after that "I hate you all!" speech.

And then he and Boogie get everyone to do everything they wanted. The old saying "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" is never truer in the BB house, and he was absolutely brilliant always stoking the fires to keep the other players scrapping with each other and never giving Chilltown a serious look at eviction. And really it comres down to Will playing Janelle. Because she felt for Chilltown, that wrecked the season 6 alliance, and then from there that led to marcellus and howie and james and Danielle going home.

And Chicken george stayed around only because he was never ever a threat to anyone. He was there to have fun and he did.

And Howie, I gotta tell you I loved you on Season 6 but this year you were an ass, and the way he is acting in the sequestered house, *I'd* smack him. hell, George is getting angry and he never gets angry.

I was watching the final HOH and couldn't believe that Julie and the producers didnt catch Janelles hand come off the key, thank god they caught it a few moments later. That would've been a scandal if they hadn't. My bet is Ericka or Janelle wins HOH and whichever one wins takes the other one. Neither would fair well against Boogie I don't think. Then again, you can never predict how the votes will go.

Alert your friends and neighbors! The Village pewople will be headlining at the hackensack nstreet festival 10/14

Nudist in VT spark plans for anti-nudity law It's a fine line but as long as there's nothing sexual about it, nudity in and of itelf is not harmful. The problem is everyone assumes it is about sex and therefore has a coniption about it. You can show all forms of barbaric treatment of humans, degradation, torture, mutiliation, mahem and violence but show a single breast or buttock and the conservatives go nuts.

From Elmwood Park, NJ: Teenagers mimicking an experiment they had seen on a TV show devoted to using scientific methods to debunk common myths were probably to blame for the two chlorine-and-peroxide filled bottles discovered on a baseball field, police said on Monday.

Here's my only issue with this: in a subsequent article (which isn't online) the police chief said that parents need to know that these kinds of shows are on tv. And what "kind: of shows would that be? They air disclaimers at the satart of the episode and at every commercial break (or damn near it anyway) telling people *DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME*. What is he suggesting? that Jamie and Adam are to blame? That MB is a bad influence? That mommy and daddy need to monitor their kids tv viewing habits?

No, mommy and daddy need to watch their kids, period.

Has anyone seen the new 4 door Jeep Wrangler? It looks great but it looks so weird. For some reason I am reminded of the H2. Not because it really looks like the H2 per se but because it just looks so damn big.

and finally, from the you gotta be kidding me file... Ice Rocks: spring water in a disposable ready to freeze ice cube tray. Provides the user with a complete guarantee with regard to hygiene and safety, while respecting the environment. Yeah because something you throw away (not to mention have to manufacture and ship repeatedly) is so much more environmentally friendly then a tray you reuse over and over and over.

But beyond that... 3.99 for fucking ice cubes? Presumably plus shipping? I could buy a liter of poland spring for less then 2$ and make a helluva lot more cubes then that.

Or I can fill it from the tap (or uise a brita walter pitcher) for free!

I personally keep a package of condoms by my monitor, just in case.

Ok, ok... the video does make some salient points. My wife's computer got stuffed with spyware from her downloading from limewire and some other sites. and yes, you can be sued by the RIAA. but this video is about as useful as that one I've seen at the start of some rented dvd's, where it tells you not to download movies illegally. (You wouldn't steal a purse. You wouldn't steal a tv. So why would you download a movie without paying? It's stealing!)

I rented SIlent Hill last night. OMG that was terrible. Well the script was terrible. The SFX, the directing and the pacing was fairly good and I'm glad I saw it. i've never played the game so I can't say whether it was faithful to the game, better/worse etc, but that script (and particularly the ending) was sooooo bad. It just continues to prove that video game inspired movies generally suck.

The worst has got to be Doom Or maybe Street Fighter. They set the standard for bad VG movies. I imagine Super Mario Brothers is worse but as I've never seen it, I can't say it.

On the plus side the movie had a preview for Ghost rider which looks really really good.
