Add your voice to the NFPA…

We made a lot of progress over the past couple of years advocating for legislation to support foster, adoptive and kinship parents.

Our goal to provide a network of support and educational resources that meets your needs means you need a chance to help us shape 2026 and beyond.

Would you please take ~15 minutes and add your thoughts to our NFPA Stakeholder Survey?

We know and appreciate how valuable your time is and I thank you for your help.

What is the NFPA?

What We Do

We are dedicated to providing support to Foster, Adoptive and Kinship parents who are working hard to provide caring, healing homes to children in care.

Who We Serve

We are a champion for the thousands of families that open their hearts and their homes to the over 400,000 children in out-of-home placement in the US.

We believe in the importance of family-based care for foster children and that every child deserves support and a permanent family.

Get Involved!

Memberships, Partnerships and donations allow us to create opportunities for connecting our Members and friends – with us, with each other, and through our legislative work, with lawmakers that impact those providing fostering, adoption and kinship parenting.

Our Missions Are…

#1
Networking

#2
Education

#3
Advocacy

One of our primary missions is to make connections between our Members, Foster Parents, other key organizations in the foster parenting arena, and with legislators.

We provide resources for Foster parents to learn from those with lived experience or gained expertise in all aspects of fostering.

Our NFPA Training Institute is available 24×7, and our annual Education Conference allows parents to gather, learn and share.

The NFPA represents the needs of parents with other organizations in the child welfare community, and in meetings with governmental agencies that impact the laws regarding foster parenting.

Before this bill passed to the Senate, it was known as HR 3058:
