The companies are working on integrating Avidyne’s hardware and software across Redbird’s line of reconfigurable aviation training devices.

Today at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Redbird Flight (Redbird) and Avidyne Corporation (Avidyne) announced a joint development program focused on integrating high-fidelity and flexible avionics solutions into Redbird’s core product line of aviation training devices (ATDs) for flight schools and pilots. The companies’ engineering teams have been collaborating closely for over a year to introduce into Redbird’s training devices the same innovative and intuitive Avidyne software and hardware that learners and pilots operate in their aircraft without sacrificing a customer’s ability to interchange aircraft configurations within a single ATD.

Redbird Joins National Flight Training Alliance

At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Redbird Flight (Redbird) today announced its membership in the National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA), an association working to unify, promote, and protect the future of America’s flight training industry, in part through its role as the FAA-selected industry partner to coordinate efforts in the modernization of 14 CFR 141. As part of the company’s increased involvement with the association, Redbird COO Josh Harnagel has been appointed to the NFTA Board of Directors, where he serves as a member of the Subcommittee on Simulation, FTDs, and Modern Training Technologies, which is tasked with providing industry comments to the FAA for the Part 141 rewrite.

Expanded Training Options Coming to the Pilot Proficiency Center at AirVenture

EAA and Redbird have joined forces to offer sessions tailored to every experience level and schedule.

Each July, the aviation world descends on Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) annual fly-in convention, AirVenture. Last year alone, more than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman Regional Airport, and approximately 686,000 people representing nearly 100 countries attended the event. In partnership with EAA, Redbird Flight (Redbird) is expanding training options at the Pilot Proficiency Center (PPC) this year to accommodate the diverse interests, experience levels, and schedules of the growing group of pilots attending the show.
