The solar power system has contributed to an estimated reduction of approximately 2,332 tons of CO₂ emissions, helping mitigate the effects of climate change and significantly lowering Oxbow Brasil’s environmental footprint. This achievement highlights how innovation and environmental responsibility can work together to deliver measurable and meaningful results.
Oxbow Brasil’s commitment to sustainability is further reflected in its approach to water management. Recognizing the importance of conserving natural resources, Oxbow Brasil has implemented water reuse initiatives designed to optimize consumption and support environmental preservation. Today, Oxbow Brasil has the capacity to reuse over 13,000 m³/h of treated water for irrigation of its green barrier, significantly reducing the demand for freshwater resources. Beyond irrigation, treated water is reused in various operational and maintenance activities, improving operational efficiency, conserving water, and supporting sustained environmental performance.

Equipped with gloves and trash bags, participants worked side by side with a shared purpose: to enhance the area’s appearance, improve safety, and strengthen community pride. Together, they picked up litter, cleared debris, and helped refresh public spaces, supporting ongoing initiatives to revitalize downtown Port Arthur.
Organized by the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce as part of the City of Port Arthur’s annual Earth Day celebration, the initiative brought together industry representatives and community members to support cleanup and restoration efforts around the Downtown Pavilion. The Port of Port Arthur supported the effort by providing golf carts and a work truck, enabling volunteers to cover a wider area more efficiently and maximize their impact throughout the day. Oxbow Energy Solutions Marks First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Drayage Delivery At Port Of Long Beach

Long Beach, California - Oxbow Energy Solutions, in partnership with Savage Companies and Symbio, marked a milestone in zero emission logistics with the first visit of a hydrogen fuel cell drayage truck delivering its inaugural load at Oxbow Energy Solutions’ terminal at the Port of Long Beach.
Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba joined Oxbow Energy Solutions Director of Logistics Joe Walker to recognize the deployment, underscoring the Port’s leadership role in implementing next generation clean transportation technologies.
The truck, owned and operated by Savage Companies and engineered with hydrogen fuel cell technology by Symbio, is designed to handle demanding bulk cargo drayage, including double trailer operations. As part of a broader commitment to decarbonization, Oxbow Energy Solutions and Savage have pledged to operate fully zero emission trucks at the terminal by 2028. To meet that goal, Savage is converting 70 diesel Mack trucks to hydrogen fuel cell power.
The milestone supports the Port of Long Beach’s 2050 Vision, which prioritizes zero emission technologies, infrastructure investment, and sustainable cargo growth.

28th Annual Boy Scouts Sporting Clays Invitational Unites Community For Youth Development

West Palm Beach, Florida - On January 16, 2026, the Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America held its 28th Annual Boy Scouts Sporting Clays Invitational, an event that is a cherished tradition for the organization, Oxbow Carbon LLC, and the community. The Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America has been dedicated to developing leaders and creating adventures since 1914. Today, the organization serves more than 4,500 Scouts and 2,500 dedicated adult volunteers across seven southeast Florida counties: Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Glades, Okeechobee, and Hendry.
The Boy Scouts Sporting Clays Invitational unites supporters from across the region to celebrate and advance the core mission of Scouting: preparing young individuals for a lifetime of leadership, adventure, learning, and service. Through hands-on experiences such as camping, community service projects, and skill-building activities, Scouts develop strong character, become responsible citizens, and strengthen their leadership abilities. These experiences not only prepare Scouts for future challenges but also create lasting memories and a solid foundation of confidence and integrity.
This year’s event featured 55 participating teams and raised over $154,000 — a noteworthy accomplishment that will provide valuable support to the Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America’s outreach initiatives and services. Oxbow Carbon’s participating employees embodied the spirit of friendly competition, contributing to an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement that made the day memorable for everyone in attendance.

West Palm Beach, Florida - Since 2020, Oxbow Carbon LLC has proudly organized an annual Holiday Charity Drive to collect pajamas and storybooks for children experiencing poverty within our community. Donations support Beyond Bedtime, formerly known as the Pajama Program, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comfort, fostering connection, and enhancing sleep for children facing economic hardship.
Beyond Bedtime was founded in 2001 by Genevieve Piturro, a television executive who, while volunteering to read to children awaiting foster care placement in New York City, noticed that many of the children lacked pajamas for bedtime. Ms. Piturro initiated efforts to collect and deliver pajamas with support from family and friends. What began as a small act of kindness grew into a grassroots movement and eventually became a national nonprofit dedicated to creating safe and nurturing bedtime routines for children facing adversity. Since its inception, Beyond Bedtime has provided more than 8.7 million new pajamas and storybooks to children nationwide.
Oxbow Carbon is honored to play a role in advancing Beyond Bedtime’s mission of fostering comfort, routine, and a sense of belonging at bedtime. Through the generosity of Oxbow Carbon’s employees, 225 new pajamas and storybooks were donated this year, raising Oxbow’s cumulative total since 2020 to approximately 700 for disadvantaged children in Palm Beach County. These donations will reach children residing in orphanages, group homes, and shelters—giving them the chance to curl up in soft pajamas and enjoy a comforting story as they drift off to sleep.
Beyond Bedtime and Oxbow Carbon sincerely appreciate each contribution, whether it was a donation given in person, a mailed package sent directly, or an online financial gift. The generosity and support of everyone involved not only made this charity drive highly successful but also spread holiday cheer to children most in need.

Following his victory, Ryan proudly represented Oxbow Calcining’s Enid Plant at the prestigious 38th Annual United Way Chili Cook-Off at Stride Bank Center Arena in Oklahoma. The yearly event attracts a variety of chili chefs from across the region, all competing to support a worthy cause. While Ryan did not take home an award this time, his participation was a source of pride for the plant, and the experience proved to be both valuable and rewarding. Through the generosity of Enid Plant employees and a 100% donation match, over $6,000 was raised for the United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma on behalf of Oxbow Calcining.
Since 1926, United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma has provided essential support and resources to individuals and families throughout the region. In alignment with this mission, Oxbow Calcining’s Enid Plant proudly maintains its commitment to supporting the United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma and its partner agencies. Through this collaboration, assistance and contributions reach a variety of local charities and organizations, including 4RKids, Loaves & Fishes of Northwest Oklahoma, The Salvation Army, Last Frontier Council Scouting America, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Enid, and Youth and Family Services. These partnerships help fund essential programs and services that address hunger, support youth development, assist families in crisis, and provide volunteer opportunities for seniors.

Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur Facility Supports Cancer Awareness At The Gift Of Life Monster Dash

Port Arthur, Texas - Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur facility proudly participated in the Julie Richardson Procter 5K Ribbon Run: Gift of Life Monster Dash in Beaumont, Texas. This annual event honors the legacy of Julie Richardson Procter, a respected Southeast Texas attorney and devoted Gift of Life board member who succumbed to ovarian cancer in 2011 at the age of 51. The initiative aims to increase cancer awareness, provide educational resources, and support fundraising activities.
The Gift of Life Monster Dash featured a 5K run/walk that welcomed competitive athletes, casual walkers, and families alike, making it an engaging and inclusive experience for individuals of all ages and abilities. Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur facility made a donation and approximately seventeen employees, along with their families and friends, participated in the Gift of Life Monster Dash. The funds raised from the event directly support Gift of Life, a program that provides free cancer screening services and diagnostic tests with access to follow-up treatment for medically underserved women and men.
Since its inception in 1994, the Gift of Life program has made a remarkable impact on the community. The initiative has performed over 46,000 mammograms and clinical breast examinations for women, as well as more than 12,000 prostate screenings for men. These early detection efforts have led to 313 women and 82 men receiving timely diagnoses and critical follow-up treatments, significantly improving their chances of recovery and survival.
Oxbow Calcining’s involvement in the Gift of Life Monster Dash reflects Oxbow’s dedication to giving back and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the communities where it operates. Through continued collaboration and community engagement, the hope is to expand access to vital health services and create a healthier future for all.

Oxbow Energy Solutions Rides For A Cure

Long Beach, California - Oxbow Energy Solutions’ employees Ben Lowe, Digran Khalili and Brian Workman from our Long Beach office proudly participated in the Bike MS: Bay to Bay event to raise critical funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The cyclists embarked on a challenging 70-mile route from Carlsbad to San Diego along the California coastline, which combined significant physical demands with striking scenic views. Throughout the journey, riders encountered steep inclines, persistent headwinds, and long stretches of sun-drenched pavement. Despite these obstacles, Ben, Digran, and Brian completed the ride successfully, relying on teamwork and determination to reach the finish line.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the central nervous system, causing symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and mobility issues. Events like Bike MS play an important role in funding research and providing support to individuals affected by MS.
The event achieved notable success, raising an impressive total of $1,882,743 in support of its mission.

Oxbow Brasil’s Initiatives In Community Development: Casa Shalom Social School In Cabedelo

Cabedelo, Paraíba - Oxbow Brasil demonstrated its continued commitment to social and community development by donating food and supplies to families in Cabedelo through the Casa Shalom Social School.
The Casa Shalom Social School is a local non-profit organization dedicated to the social advancement of children aged three to five who face challenging circumstances. Committed to holistic development, the school delivers high-quality education, nutrition, care, and hope. Through the support of donors, including Oxbow Brasil, during the first half of 2025, the school provided over 33,000 meals to approximately 200 children. In 2026, the Casa Shalom Social School aims to broaden the scope of its mission by increasing the number of children involved, improving access to educational resources, strengthening emotional support, enhancing nutritional security, and expanding opportunities for future development.
Casa Shalom’s Fundraising Coordinator, Kess Jones stated, “Changing destinies begins with education.”

Oxbow Brasil’s Initiatives In Community Development: The Porto Cidade Project

Cabedelo, Paraíba - In the summer of 2025, Oxbow Brasil continued its commitment to social and community development by donating resources to a transformative initiative in Cabedelo: The Porto Cidade Project.
The Port of Cabedelo initiated the Porto Cidade Project two years ago with the objective of strengthening the relationship between the port, its operating companies (including Oxbow Brasil), and local communities. Oxbow Brasil was one of the inaugural supporters. Today, the Porto Cidade Project stands as a benchmark in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, offering meaningful contributions to education, healthcare, and culture for adolescents and youth aged nine to fourteen.
Through the Porto Cidade Project, over 3,500 Cabedelo residents have participated in English classes, vocational training, and music and instrument lessons, increasing access to employment opportunities and contributing to the region’s cultural activities.
Jessica Guimarães, Porto Cidade’s General Coordinator stated, “The Porto Cidade Project is not just about cargo and ships, but about dreams, dedication, and opportunities.”

Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant Environmental Education Project: Composting Program At Kindergarten No. 909 In Ensenada

Ensenada, Argentina - Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant implemented a composting program at Kindergarten No. 909 in Ensenada, Argentina as part of the school’s environmental education project.
The composting program, developed in collaboration with the environmental services company Greenheads Argentina, included the installation of two composting bins to process organic waste from the school’s kitchen. Kitchen staff received training on the composting procedure, including waste separation, adding waste to the bins, and monitoring the composting process.
Additionally, two informative workshops on composting were conducted for faculty and students aged three to five at the school. Participants engaged in interactive activities to distinguish between recoverable and compostable waste, and gained insight into the significance of composting for environmental management.
The school composting program is part of an initiative undertaken by the Copetro Plant, where for the past three years the plant has composted organic waste generated in its cafeteria. The compost produced at the Copetro Plant is utilized for landscaping within the facility’s grounds and is made available to employees for use in their home gardens.
Through these actions, Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant supports community education and aligns its internal initiatives with sustainable development and goals, resulting in positive long-term impacts.

Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant Literacy Initiative In Ensenada

Ensenada, Argentina - As part of its program to support local educational institutions, Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant established a reading enhancement project at School 15 in the Campamento neighborhood of Ensenada, Argentina in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Fundación Leer (Reading Foundation).
Since its inception in 2018, Programa de Fortalecimiento de la Educación en nuestra Comunidad (Program for Strengthening Education in our Community) has consistently achieved exceptional results in student literacy. The integration of supplementary materials in conjunction with the literacy tasks implemented by teachers has led to notable improvements in students' reading and writing skills.
The Leer te Ayuda (Reading Helps You) program is designed for students in the first, second, and third grades, with the aim of promoting literacy and ensuring that all children acquire reading and writing skills. The program encompasses teacher training, the provision of educational workbooks, and ongoing program evaluation and monitoring.
The Misión Alpha (Alpha Mission) program was specifically designed for fourth-grade students, aligning with the second cycle of their education. The program emphasizes scientific literacy by guiding students through the fields of science, engineering, mathematics, and technology.
Both programs are designed to benefit 120 students and teachers.
The initiative enhances Oxbow Calcining’s Copetro Plant in its ongoing efforts to elevate educational standards within the community. These efforts include distributing school supply kits at the beginning of the academic year and supplying educational materials for various institutional activities.

Lemont, Illinois - Oxbow Midwest Calcining was honored to serve as a sponsor of the 29th Annual MDA-CITGO Driving for a Cure Gala and Golf Event held in June, benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The generosity and support provided by Oxbow Midwest Calcining was instrumental to the success of the event, which surpassed its $1 million goal by raising an impressive $1,091,642 to further MDA's mission.
The funding will support critical research, advanced medical care, and essential support services for individuals and families living with muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and related neuromuscular diseases. Port Arthur’s participation in the June blood drive not only helped meet the high demand for blood in our community, but also brought numerous benefits to donors and recipients alike. Blood donations are crucial for surgeries, cancer treatment, trauma care, and managing chronic illnesses. Each contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.
In 2024, Port Arthur employees donated 55 units of blood, benefiting 110 patients. Oxbow is proud to be on track to achieve similar numbers this year. Oxbow Supports Booker T. Washington Elementary School Fun Day!

Port Arthur, Texas - Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur facility joined Valero Energy and Texas Proud H2O to host STEM activities at Booker T. Washington Elementary School’s Fun Day to celebrate the end of the school year!
Memorable activities included sand art, temporary tattoos, snow cones, a gym dance party, and chromatography butterflies.
Isaac Lopez, Oxbow Calcining’s Environmental Coordinator, was especially excited to assist with the chromatography butterfly station. This educational and fun science experiment allowed students to explore chromatography, a technique used for separating mixtures. Utilizing only coffee filters, some craft supplies, and a little bit of creativity, students were able to create their own butterfly models.
This volunteer day is part of the ongoing partnership between Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur facility and Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Port Arthur. Oxbow Calcining’s Port Arthur facility provides essential school supplies and frequently sends volunteers to assist with events such as Fun Day.
