Electing and supporting a new generation of Democratic executive local leaders who deliver results in communities across New York.

Local Leadership Matters

Washington gets the headlines, but daily life is shaped closer to home. County executives, town supervisors, mayors, district attorneys, sheriffs, and other local leaders determine taxes, housing, public safety response, infrastructure, and the services families rely on.

They have unique power to improve people's lives, but these races are too often overlooked and underfunded—leaving critical offices uncontested or in Republican hands.

NDNY changes that by directing resources, attention, and talent to the executive offices that actually run local government. When we succeed, we won't just improve lives—we'll build a new generation of Democrats with real governing experience and strengthen trust in Democratic leadership by delivering measurable results.

About Matt Castelli

Matt Castelli loves America, New York, and his Hudson Valley hometown in Dutchess County. He believes our communities work best when people come together to solve real problems.

Matt has served in senior national security positions at the highest levels of the U.S. government and held senior executive roles in business. He has been responsible for tough decisions and leading teams in complex environments. Across those roles, he learned a simple truth: strong leadership is disciplined, accountable, and focused on execution—not performative politics. Read More

That leadership philosophy is why Matt is committed to effective local governance. When local government works, families feel it immediately: safer streets, reliable services, stronger infrastructure, responsible budgeting, and real progress on affordability. When it doesn’t, working people pay the price in higher costs, wasted time, and insecurity.

Mostly in 2022, Matt ran for Congress across a large rural district in Upstate New York and spent months listening in town halls, living rooms, and local diners. He has continued that work statewide, engaging Democrats across every region of New York to help shape a clear, unifying direction for the party. What he heard was consistent: Democrats earn trust by leading with focus and competence—expanding opportunity, protecting communities, and delivering tangible results for people.

Through NDNY, Matt’s mission is to cut through the noise, restore trust in public leadership, and build New York’s next generation of Democratic executive local leaders who get things done.
