The key to NWN's long term success is it's tool-set. The game comes bundled with a full featured game editor. Even users with minimal or no programming ability will be able to make a good hack and slash adventure. More advanced users will find the Aurora engine is backed up by a powerful but simple scripting language based on C+. In addition the low poly models make it easy to mod and fans have produced a huge amount of custom content. While this capability is NOT built into the tool-set, it's easy to create and animate models for use as sets, creatures, etc using just freeware.
