Bumblebee and Sari find some deep topics to stir up a boring day.
Set after Megatron rising. Spoilers up till then.
I really should write my first draft in notebooks more. Fr some reason, I come up with better stuff that way.

“Boooooorrrred!” came two agonizing groans from the Plant's living room. Bumblebee and Sari stared at the ceiling, lying in odd ways over various pieces of furniture. They sighed.

“What do you wanna do?” the autobot asked.

“I don't know, what do you wanna do?” the girl replied.

“I don't know, what do you wanna do?”

Sari had seen enough TV to know the cycle had to stop now or it could just keep going. “Wanna just talk about what we did today or something?”

“All I did was drive some laps and watch Bulkhead draw something.”

“Well, tutorbot gave me a history lesson.”

“Wow, and I thought my day was boring.”

“Tell me about it...though he did talk about time machines for a bit.”

That got Bumblebee's attention. “Time what now?”

“Well, about a century ago, people thought that by now we would be able to walk into a machine and go to the past or the future.”

Now she really had a grip on the yellow bot. “Wow, and you guys can talk to people in other times and stuff? Sweet!”

“Yeah, but we proved it wasn't doable about 10 years ago. At least, not by humanity. All we've got is now.”

“Slag.”

“Yeah, it would have been cool.”

A pause.

“Hey, Sari?”

“Yeah?”

“What would you do if there were time machines?”

Sari took the question to heart. “I don't know... I have to think on that for a while, but I bet I know what you'd do.”

Bumblebee raised an optic ridge.

“You'd make sure Megatron was toast so he wouldn't have come back later, right?”

No reply, much to Sari's surprise.

“Well?”

“What would happen to you?”

“Huh?” Sari blinked. “What do I have to do with-”

“Well, if Megatron hadn't come here, you're dad wouldn't have been able to make his robots, right?”

“...Right?”

“Well, what if then he had never gotten enough money to take care of you?”

Sari blinked again. She hadn't thought that far into it, and she hadn't expected Bumblebee to either. “...Have you thought about something like this before?”

Bumblebee nodded.

“...Okay, so, maybe I wouldn't be here. What's your point?”

“Well, Boss Bot said we're supposed to protect life.”

“So?”

“Well, wouldn't protecting life include making sure you exist like you're supposed to?”

“But, Megatron wouldn't-”

“Yeah, but so what? I'd totally kick his servos if I knew you were safe because of it.”

Sari sat up and stared at Bumblebee wide eyed for a moment, Then her expression slowly changed to a warm smile. “Well, you wouldn't have to worry about that.”

Bumblebee looked back. “Why not?”

“Because I'd come back in time to help you kick those servos.”
