Sari sat on the bench in the park. She was tired, and when you're lost without money, that could be a problem.
Her thoughts drifted back to when her dad was still there. On rare occasion, when he wasn't busy, they would drive here and sit at this same bench. Sometimes they'd get ice cream, but they'd always talk. She couldn't count how many times she had almost cried upon realizing how much they had to catch up, despite living in the same household. The memories brought a mix of sorrow and nostalgia to her heart and she sighed. Where was he now? Was he even alive anymore? No, she couldn't even ask the second one. She had to keep hope.
She prayed that there wouldn't be too much to catch up on next time.
