I've been thinking about LJ a bit again as I steal writing prompt lists from it (I miss prompt challenges) and while it's tempting to kill my entire blog with fire, I like the record of memories even if a lot of them are painted with my old raised-in-a-cult opinions.

That doesn't mean I want anybody else seeing them though, so y'all are gonna be losing access soon-ish.

It felt important to share this here. I wanted to post it to WERP too but I'm getting an error, so if anyone reading this happens to be in touch with any of them, I'd appreciate it being passed forward. I'm not looking for reconnection or forgiveness - I just want them to know I'm sorry and I'm now living as a kinder, happier person, for however much that helps with the wounds.

TL;DR I'm sorry for the pain I caused when I was young and dumb and hurt and afraid and trying to make sense of all of it. I hope y'all are doing well out there.

E3 Highlights

Okay, now that I've screamed, jumped around, and taken the time to gather more info, I've put together a countdown list of the top 7 games I'm the most interested in from E3.

7. Animal Crossing (3DS)

Animal Crossing never looked so smooth and glowy! That's... pretty much all there is to say about it at this point. That's also why it's at the metaphorical bottom on my excitement list for now; It looks nice, but I hope they really make an effort to do something new with it too. Animal Crossing, while fun, gets boring after doing the same thing all the time. You know what I'd like to see? Towns hosted online with multiple residents, so you don't need to share your game card with a friend for them to live there. That'd sell me.

6. Kingdom Hearts (3DS)

It's Kingdom Hearts! With the normal main cast! For a handheld I actually care about! Me like this idea. Not much to say beyond that for now, but I don't agree with the speculation that it's a KH1 port, unless they REALLY expanded it. (Pic chosen because the fangirls are gonne flip out at being able to control Riku.)

5. Epic Mickey (Wii)

Oh hey, I'd almost forgotten about this one. While I'm still not as impressed as I'd like to be with the gameplay graphics (hence opting to use some concept art), I can't help but feel excited for this game. And now we know for sure it's gonna be on the Wii. Sweeeet.

4. Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs (DS)

No surprises here, but looking forward to this. It looks great and continues a franchise I enjoy. Now all we need it PMD Wiiware to get its butt over here...

And here comes the top 3, where it goes from "Neat!" to "EPIC WANT."

3. Portal 2 (PS3, PC, Mac)

YES. Portal was a surprise hit for a reason; it had an interesting antagonist and fun gameplay style. Amping that into high gear? Making it available for the Mac? I'm sold.

2. Paper Mario (3DS)

A new Paper Mario is always a good thing, and it looks like the classic RPG elements are back! No offense to SPM, love that game, but Nintendo has too few good RPG series to start turning them into platformers for the long run. I'm also curious about the partners; Mario seems alone in all the pictures except the battle ones, where there's a normal looking chain chomp. Is there gonna be some sort of monster catching system, perhaps? I do hope they give Mario another character to bounce off of.

And the thing that had me spazzing the most....

1. Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii)

Okay, first off, it's a Kirby Wii game. Ask any long member of the Kirby fandom who knows their history how excited that makes them. Kirby Wii has been held back, canceled, un-canceled, and ran through every possible stage of vaporware for years. But at last, this pops up at the E3, with the catch of looking completely different from the original planned title.

Honestly? Good. The artwork is beautiful. It's like Paper Mario if it all took place in a Jo-Ann Fabrics store. And it's trying some new stuff and looks ridiculously fun to play. If Canvas Curse is any indication, the best Kirby games are the innovative ones.

Ray from The Princess and the Frog

The only character without a hint of Sci-Fi to make my top 5 (and choosing between him and Stich was hard,) Ray is just... Ray is Adorable. His blind faith in love was inspiring to me, and you just really cared about who he was and what he stood for. He got me really welled up a few times.

Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story

The man, the myth, the legend, the guy with the karate chop action and little light-bulb that blinks; who didn't love Buzz as a kid? Partly for nostalgia's sake, and partly because he's a hilarious and fun character, Buzz remains one of my favorites. Buzz simply never gets old.

WALL-E from WALL-E

I don't even know where to begin on this one. WALL-E made audiences fall in love with him before he even said a word, myself included. He's a sweet character full of hope and light that can be related to far too well to be a robot living 700 years from now. He's the guy you wish was around on those days when you get tired and bitter and forget that love is the most important thing. He's like everything good about humanity in a box.

You know, that show on Jetix? Anybody?

Anyways, one of the things I loved about SRMTHG was the surprising depth of the characters and their relationships with one another. Sprx, IMO, was the most well developed character I've seen in a kid targeted animated series in a long time. He has insecurities and desires and the writers don't shove it all in your face but you still understand him by his subtle actions. He jokes around and flirts and acts like a moron, but also has a very valorous streak and street smarts when it comes down to it. You really see his grievances and root for him.

EVE from WALL-E

EVEEVEEVE! EVE is AWESOME. I fell in love with EVE the moment I saw her character design; she just looks so cool and she's hardcore and she can blow holes in boulders.

But more importantly, EVE has an amazing character development arc. The story of her learning what it means to live is just as root-able and endearing as WALL-E's story, and it's done in such a natural feeling way that's so beautiful.

Plus, again, she's cool.

Pokemon DP163 Review + Picspam

Yeah, I'm a day late here, huh? Well, I honestly needed some time to warm up to this; I was expecting more of a Chim-Charred feel and it took me a while to realize that it was still a cool episode even if I didn't get it how I wanted. Plus, once I realized that I spent the rest of the day garnering more information, pictures, and footage and spazzing with Silver Wings over it, so yeah. xD;;;;

That said, I'm just going to do my entire epi-picspam now, and when it airs in the states (And even though I pretty much spoiled myself silly, I WILL be watching it in the States.) I might bring a few points up.

Warnings: Spoilers, a ton of pictures, allcaps, and making fun of EVERYBODY.

HAY GUYS. I KNOW IT WASN'T OBVIOUS WITH A TITLE LIKE "SCORCHING EVOLUTION! INFERNAPE!" OR ANYTHING, BUT MONFERNO TOTALLY EVOLVED TODAY.

I'm starting to like Barry more in recent episodes. He's still kinda annoying, but he's growing more character.

Poor Ash though; even he beat the kid to 8 badges. Then again, he is pretty impatient. XD

So all the slow set up is over and the episode is gonna get more awesome because MONFERNO IS SENT OUT.

The battle begins!

Paul comes and watches the fight. He's actually paying attention to Ash. Hm.

So the battle is going wonderfully and life is good until...

OOPS.

(Monferno is blasting off agaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn!)

Geez, that was harsh. And poor Ferny goes screaming all the way into the woods and CRASHES REDICULOUSLY HARD INTO THE GROUND. We can't see him or anything.

And Ash is like "OH CRAP! D8"

So Ash starts calling out to Ferny and then goes to go after him but GUESS WHO SHOWS UP TO CAUSE A PROBLEM LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO?

LISTEN, IS THAT A TWERP CALLING FOR HIS TOTALLY SCREWED MONFERNO I HEAR?

ON THE WIND, PAST THE STARS, IMA GONNA TRAP YOU ALL IN GIANT BUBBLES. And of course, we have the obligatory "electricity won't work!" moment.

And Ash is like "Oh Noes! D8" and Dawn is like "Oh Noes! D8" and Brock is like "Oh Noes! D8" And Barry is like "wut man I was just visiting for one episode"

And Paul is like ":|"

Yes, those are giant Pokeball bubbles. Team Rocket even says "Getto Daze!"

Brock tries another way to get out. It doesn't go well, but at least Happiny is entertained.

So Team Rocket captures Pikachu and Emploeon and Piplup and is all like "yeah we rok this can't possibly go wrong"

BUT THEN

IT RISES FROM THE WOODS.

IT IS ANGRY.

IT KNOWS WHERE YOU LIVE.

IT RESCUES YOU FROM BUBBLES.

WHAT COULD IT BE?

IT IS...

CRAZEFERNO.

IT WILL EAT YOUR BABIES.
Not really, but eahhgh, that picture creeps me out man. Chimchar looked MILD compared to this. His pupils don't even appear to be looking the same direction. D8

So Ash is like "Yay I'm free but oh double crap! D:" and Dawn is like "oh double crap! D:" and Brock is like "oh double crap! D:"

Barry is all "wait wut srsly guys I dunno what's happening anymore"

...No, really. He's just... standing there. The entire time.

Then again, maybe he's the smartest of us all and realizes it's only a matter of time until Team Rocket screws it up for themselves.

Like right now.

OH GOODIE TEAM; A CRAZY MONKEY ON FIRE DESTROYING EVERYTHING.

LET'S CATCH IT.

ASH uses COOLDOWN HUG. It doesn't affect ally CRAZEFERNO...

So yeah, TR tries to grab it, and he BREAKS OUT OF THE GIANT CLAW LIKE A TOOTHPICK. And Ash both to protect the captures pokemon (and probbaly cause not even Team Rocket deserves this) tries to block Monferno.

It doesn't go well.

FATALITY.

(Actually they just blast off but whatever.)

So TR explodes and it makes the ROBOT UNSTABLE.

THE CAGE IS GOING TO FALL.

BUT THE MOST AMAZING CHANGE TAKES PLACE.

GUESS.

PAUL.

ACTUALLY.

DOES.

SOMETHING.

I dunno what he yells to Ash. Probably along the lines of "Go help your stupid Pokemon Stupid. :|"

TRANSLATION UPDATE: ...Or just telling Electrabuzz to keep using protect. Oh well. xD

And so this gives Ash a chance to go and attempt his uber godmodding power of friendship cooldown hug again.

And Paul.... actually looks kinda impressed.

(In unrelated news, did anybody hear about Hell freezing over today? I'm pretty sure it made mainstream news but I'm not sure...)

In all seriousness though; this isn't just Paul being impressed by Ash. This is Paul being impressed by Ash doing something incredibly self-sacrificial for the sake of one of his Pokemon; Paul is impressed by Ash doing an act of kindness for one of his Pokemon. That... that's a HUGE deal. Ash has been trying to show that there is a strength in friendship, and he finally got a small piece of that through Paul's head. After all, Paul has been known to treat his Pokemon more as battle tools; know anybody who would risk getting seriously burned (in theory. Ash never gets seriously burned.) to stop a runaway tank?

So Monferno calms down?

No, he gets worse.... or does he? He also closes his eyes and appears to be struggling.

Ash gives this semi-long, dramatic speech to Monferno while he's trying to calm him down and darnit I NEED A TRANSLATION OF THAT. I wanna know what he said.... ;_;

TRANSLATION UPDATE: Monferno... Remember! The promise you and I made... the promise that we'd grow stronger together! Monferno... don't be swallowed by blaze! Overcome the power and become even stronger! With me... become stronger with me!

DAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW~! I love the friendship these two have you guys. And Ash, as always, really backing up his words by taking an even worse blaze than he did last time, and Monferno responds by showing that he can handle more now as well.

That also makes more sense for how easily Monferno went into Blaze earlier; the "don't be swallowed" thing seems to point to Ash noticing the problem getting worse.

Meanwhile, Electrabuzz is not doing well, and the cage is about to fall on him. (It really wasn't that bad a fall for the guys in the cage in the first place, but whatever. rule of drama.)

Monferno finally brushes Ash off, and it looks like Ash has still gotten nowhere.

BUT

BUTBUTBUT

HOLD EVERYTHING.

MONFERNO IS CONTROLLING BLAZE.

MONFERNO.

IS.

CONTROLLING.

BLAZE. 8D

And finally, the part everybody knew was coming, but is still really cool.

HECK YES INFERNAPE.

"LOL HAI remember me ima that Chimchar you used to pick on 2 seasons ago 8D"

"Pfft, I totally could have done that. >___>"

And yes, Ash can control him just fine. I never really got why people were so worried about this, so be honest. ^^;;;

Oh and this is the cool part!

INFERNAPE used TOSS THE ENTIRE ROBOT SEVERAL FEET INTO THE AIR.

INFERNAPE used MACH PUNCH THE STUPID CAGE OPEN.

INFERNAPE used RESCUE EVERYBODY IN A SPINNING BALL OF FIRE.

Anybody ever wonder how odd it must be for Pikachu, come to think of it, to have most of his friends go from being about his size to evolving to the point that he looks like a baby compared to them? Just a random thought. I mean, to somebody who doesn't know the show much this whole things looks like a "oh mah gosh you saved us thanks Mr. Big Infernape! *_*" and the Poke-Conversation is probably more along the lines of "Wow! Cool new evo buddy! 8)"

*sniff* Little Chimmy is all grown up. 8')

I wanna know what Paul was talking about too. Something having to do with Infernape.

TRANSLATION UPDATE: "It seems that the power of Blaze was transformed into evolutionary energy. Blaze was controlled... and transformed into a totally different power."

OHHHHHHHHH. Okay, that explains all the "dude he evolved again kinda quickly" comments but... does that also mean blaze was officially dealt with? Hmm. Guess we'll just have to keep watching and see if that's the case. :)

Also, did Monferno PURPOSEFULLY do that? Like, he figured out how to channel it that way? That is too cool. NOTHING THE ANGST BUCKET CAN'T DO I SAY! 8D

And Ash ends up asking him for a battle, and Paul is like "I'll battle you guys in the Sinnoh Leauge."

So, in Paul speak, I think he just said he thinks Ash will make it there.

And Paul walks off with Ash and Barry both smiling after him with a "you so care" look on their faces.

Anyways, last notes: This episode surprised me. I was expecting more like a "Chim-Charred" thing, but instead, while Monferno/Infernape obviously got some epic win moments, this episode was more about Paul's character development. It was surprising to see him affected so much, and I'm excited to see what is being planned for his character next. 8)

Also, are we done with blaze or not? Can Infernape like, totally control it now? And did it feel like to anybody else that blaze came out more easily this time? If it becomes more prominent with evolution, whether or not Infernape has control of this is going to be either a really good or really bad thing.

I have one major beef with this whole thing though.

Infernape is too big to cling to Ash's leg.

PATF Review: Part 1 (The part without spoilers)

Okay, here are some thoughts on the movie besides "WOW." I have put spoily thoughts in another journal that I'll link to at the end of this for those who have seen the movie, but all the stuff in this journal is spoiler free.

I just... I don't.... MAN. I walked in slightly excited and walked out with this giant grin. I love when I'm wrong about being skeptic!

The characters were all emotionally investing! The story was fun! The writing was well done! Every laugh was on target but they could still make you cry (My theater was a sniffle house at times) and go "dawwwwwww.")

There's probably gonna be some backlash about this movie with some of the themes and choices, but I'm thinking the same thing I did with the whining over the humans in WALL-E: Shut up, it makes sense, quit being so sensitive. The story felt so real on a level I'm not used to from Disney while still bringing the studio's magic back. Now, that's not to insult Bolt. Heck, that's not to insult Meet the Robinsons (I love this film and will probably never understand why other people don't) but this just had a different feel that only Disney can provide.

Also, the antagonist is the creepiest I've seen from Disney to date. So many shivers up my spine. But he still fits into a fun story instead of throwing it all off track.

But anyways, today's million dollar question: Was it better than Up or not?

...Oh boy, where did I put that can of worms I had... Uh... Maybe? I know I said there was no way at some point, and you're free to laugh at me now. The fact that I'm even having trouble picking one shows that this was an amazing movie, seeing how Up is my second favorite Pixar film, but... It's really impossible to compare the two.

Disney has always been an enigma, making these kinda sappy and sorta predictable stories that are still so good they've scooped up awards and critical reception like crazy. Why? I have NO IDEA, and this is coming from somebody who is as into Disney films as anybody. I guess that's what they mean by Disney Magic? Or maybe art in general isn't intended to be fully technical? Despite personally being a bigger fan of WALL-E than Up, I always have trouble telling people why. "It's just... it's WALL-E! D'8"

Does anybody get what I mean? Disney's classic style is hard to compare to anybody but Disney. I dunno how award voters do it every year, but I kinda just need to say if it's a good film or not without worrying too much about what it's better or worse than outside the company, and PATF was a FANTASTIC movie. It doesn't matter if it's perfect from a technical standpoint or not. It's clever, full of heart, and entertaining like crazy. It gets you emotionally invested to a point that you don't care. xD I tend to get really technical when I go into films without even meaning to, constantly getting my eye on animation and writing form and the like. While it'd take the force of 1000 suns to get me to stop that totally, this movie let me do that less than a lot of films. PATF just got me invested at an emotion level that I haven't been since WALL-E. Sometimes I just like being an audience member, you know? I guess I'm just a sap for stuff like this too.

So does that mean I liked PATF more than Up personally? ...OH HEY I FOUND THE CAN OF WORMS! *opens* ...Yes. I may regret saying that later. Took me a lot of thought to pick one (again, hard to compare the two) and they are so close to tied it's ridiculous, but for now, yes. I know it's not the most innovative or perfect film in the world, but I loved it. It's this weird emotion where I feel like I liked PATF more, but if we do get an animated Best Picture nom this year, I'll wanna smack the Oscars if it's not Up. That make sense? I'm gonna shut up on that topic before I sound like an even bigger idiot.

It doesn't help that Pixar's Brain Trust helped with the story. And Pixar's former head animator produced it. Some days I wonder how much Disney Animation Studio is turning into Pixar's 2D division. Who bought who again?

Oh, but before somebody asks since I compared the two, no, I don't like it better than WALL-E. xD

Seriously, go see this. Walt would be proud.

Oh, P.S. I finally got to see the TS3 trailer on the big screen, since my theater accidentally ran the teaser at TS3D. The dude in front of me was clearly a Pixar nut. 8 )

PATF Review 2: The Spoily Part

This is part 2! Go to part 1 first! Yes, it came out that messy. Setting spoilers apart while not drowning my flist and all. xD;

GUYSSSSSSS. TIANA AND NAVEEN ARE SO CUTE! SO. CUTE. I just loved the dynamic between them. It reminded me of this weird mix between Spova and WEVE and did I mention it was TOTALLY CUTE? TOTALLY CUTE AND AWKWARD. Seriously, just everything with those two dragged me along in the best way. I think I'll need to watch this a few more times before I catch everything, cause fandom keeps saying things that happened in the film with the villian and stuff that I barely noticed cause I was so busy drowining in cute. I mean, I was sitting with my knees up in the chair and my hands laced together next to my cheek with my head tilted against them. Seriously, just like in cartoons when a character is watching an adorable movie. I'm not exaggerating. DFGDFJNGFJGNFJHNFHGJN! But it wasn't JUST cute, but also had sorta a realistic feel. Not like, totally realistic. It's Disney. But there was actually chemistry between the characters beyond the wishes and curses. It was nice to see two characters in the same mess and forced to bond instead of cursing one and making the other be all "IMA GUNNA RESCUE YOU!"

RAY. POOR RAY. MY THEATER CRIED. But that was seriously such an epic subversion of Disney Death. I thought "oh he's gonna glow and come back blah blah blah" and then THE STAR THING. ;_; I was shaking my fist and cursing Disney under my breath for once again tearing my heartstrings out. Wasn't Kerchak enough for you people?!

And Louis. xD I laughed so hard at his story about his attempts playing on a steamboat. When I was squeeing like a pathetic shipper or crying I was laughing. "I FOOOOUUUUNNNND THE STIIIIIICK! 8D"

And man, the baddie. I was shivering the whole movie... until he stepped on Ray. It was like I was overcoming fears with the characters. I got so mad that from then on I just wanted to punch him in the face. Also, I've heard a LOT of Christians complaining about how demonic this guy is... and I'll never get them. HE'S THE BAD GUY. When you put light into the darkest room possible, the light becomes brighter and more notable. Having a bad guy who was basically a demon actually invested me MORE as a Christian personally, because I felt like he was symbolic of temptation in our lives as a whole. That made Tiana and Naveen's situation easy to relate with despite how outlandish it was. Darkness in films isn't an issue: It's darkness being glorified. Seriously. Some days I wonder if there's a group of Christians reading a translation of the Bible where Satan pets kittens or something and they're the ones griping about this stuff.

The fact that the star can be equated so easily to prayer was also helpful in making this connection. In fact, I think this was a great message of doing your best each day that Christians don't get talked to enough about: It's so easy for us to pray and then forget that we still need to come halfway. God didn't tell Gideon to go sit on a couch while he dealt with the Mennonites. He gave Gideon a task that was in his power if he did his best.

The songs were wayyyy too catchy. I dunno when they'll get out of my head, but I could probably start the process by not listening to the soundtrack OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Not my fault Disney is streaming it this week. I think my favs are When We're Human and Ma Belle Evangeline. The later, I just loved the scene with. Just... DAWWWW. And yes, I liked the pop song. Sue me. (The credits were adorable also!)

I think Naveen is my favorite character by the end, even though at first I couldn't stand him. I guess I have a thing for the "Ladykiller in Love" trope. He just has some really awesome and adorable character development. I will admit, however, I find him totally ugly in that prince outfit. I like his street outfit more. xDDD;;;; ...Heck, I think my favorite designs of Tiana and Naveen were as frogs. They were so well thought out and animated. Princely!Naveen looked like a lot of other princes to me.

Also, I really loved the theme of the movie. We have all our distractions and temptations in life but what's most important is lo.... wait....

OKAY SO WE RETURN TO THE EPIC BATTLE...

Pikachu is animated awesomely in this episode. Heck, everybody is, but Pikachu stood out today in that respect. He was battling so hard and was totally adorable.

Ash, chill out hun. You're starting to act like your Kanto self again. Ash has the right idea putting faith into his Pokemon, but he's letting it be a free for all; he's forgetting his job is to control them to help them battle better. If they are calling the shots on who battles there's little point. 8( I wanted to hug Ash so much over all this.

And so, the episode starts off pretty even, and then...

URSARING. OUCH.

MORE OUCH.

Then ouchy-bear gets a break and Electrabuzz comes out, so Ash sends...

...Chimchar! Like it's a perfect match Uh... alright... Yeah, I guess of the guys on hand Chimchar was the best suited, but Ash's decision was rather fast. Did he really figure types that quickly or is he aware of the rivalry here and still letting it hold him? :/

I. AM. NOT. AFRAID. OF. YOU. ANYMORE. Chimchar has grown up so much. <3 And Paul is just all "*GLARE*"

Then both side switch, Paul only having brought Buzzy out to Light Screen things. Jessie is getting rather annoyed with this. xD

GLISCOR DIDN'T EVEN GET A CHANCE. I BLINKED AND IT WAS OUT. ;_;

Heck, PIKACHU got pwned pretty badly. And then remaining was...

AND THERE WAS MUCH PWNAGE. PAYBACK IS A JERK, ISN'T IT PAUL?!

FLAME OF TRUST AND FRIENDSHIP ACTIVATE!

Okay, kinda cheesy? Yeah, but... I'm glad it didn't turn out to be Blaze. As awesome as that would have been in the moment, I don't WANT Ferny to get over all his issues in one fell swoop via evolving. After opening up a plot like that, pulling an "I EVOLVED AND GOT BETTER" just does not fit. I hope to see Blaze come up again in the future. This won't be Paul and Ash's last fight, after all, and what Brock said about Chimchar being the cornerstone for their rivalry is pretty darn accurate. Not like we don't have a chance to bring this back up in the future. I'm glad they noted Blaze, cause that means they are not done with it. They can't be. Everything in this season is too well connected for that to slide.

But in the end... double crap.

Oh Ash, that scream. That was just... ;_; Ash was DEVASTATED. He got beat HARD. Paul had 4 POKEMON LEFT. Yiiikes.

Dawwwww, I really loved and hated this part. Ash is the saddest I've seen him in a LOOONG time, but at the same time, this was a major "PHEW" moment for me. Unless a Pokemon outright has a Charmelion moment, it's hard to judge personality in a heated battle. But in the end, Monferno feels sad, Ash tells him he did great while picking him up, and Monferno appreciates it. It's the same dynamic in their friendship as it has always been. I'm so glad they didn't totally change Chimchar's character or anything. I was worried about that.

BUT POOR ASH. ;_; Ash's pain here resonates with me. Paul is like the school bully who always gets their way and people treat fairly kindly or even admire, despite that you know how terrible a person they really are to people they feel are under them. I was on the victim end of people like that in high school and it's just... just ugh. Seeing somebody like that win over you when you try your best to be kind to others SUCKS.

I was originally just gonna skip this one after missing it last week, but I REALLY enjoyed it, so I hope you don't mind me back peddling a bit for some comments.

HD MEANS NEVER HAVING TO SAY IT'S UGLY. Seriously, the scenery in this show has been beautiful lately.

Honestly, I didn't think I'd like Looker much at all, but he's totally awesome. xD

Anybody wonder where these guys keep the food bowls? Heck, even just Mamoswine's?

Today was totally "Brock's Pokemon being awesome" day. It was nice to see Suddowoodo's crowning awesome. I love Croagunk, I really do, and I have no complaints about his level of screentime (seeing how much screentime my fav gets, I don't have the right to) but these guys have been quiet for a while. Good to see them. :D

The little pokemon sure has grown up too. He's getting to be a really strong battler.

And Ash is still excited for his battle with Paul.

DARN THIS IS A PRETTY SHOT THAT WE DID NOT GET IN WIDESCREEN THIS WEEK. Yeah, CN decided to make the Widescreen ratio for their HD channel only. It even cut some of the opening credits off. Laaame. ;_;

And Chansey'd! I ship it now.

Okay, okay, seriously now, this battle is nuts. Between his talk with Paul and getting an official referee, it's pretty clear Regii is REALLY serious about this.

And so Ash gets his Pokemon back and checks on the- WHY IS CHIMCHAR SMILING LIKE THAT IT'S CREEPY?! Seriously, who was drawing him today? ._. SERIOUSLY GUYS HE'S STARING INTO MY SOUL.

So anyways, Ash FINALLY flat out says that he hopes to get Paul to respect his battling style a bit more from this match.

Chimchar shows his enthusiasm for this idea with poorly done animation. Still, I love how open Chimchar is now. He came to the group so afraid to say anything or even speak up to offer to help somebody, and now he's like, in sync with Ash.

Brock brings up what Cynthia said about Chimchar way back, and even goes as far as to say Chimchar is kinda the cornerstone for Ash and Paul's rivalry. GOSH I LOVE THE WRITING IN THIS SEASON. THE POKEMON ARE INVOLVED IN EVERYTHING SO MUCH MORE. SERIOUSLY.

On the other side of the animation spectrum for the day is Dawn. She had some really strong emotional expressions, and she needed them, cause man she was worried.

I don't really have a point by point for the battle its self, cause the whole thing was just INTENSE. Paul's got Ash's number and Ash is starting to lose it. Crap. A few thoughts I had though were "POOR GLISCOR D8" and "I'm surprised Weavile was first out". Seriously on Gliscor though, I was kinda hoping it'd get to battle its old leader again. Now I dunno if Paul even brought it. Yeah yeah, I do know a bit about next episode from caps, but I forgot the vast majority of this fight, as I realized watching this today

Oh Ash, you mean nothing but good, and Paul needs somebody to turn the other cheek at him, but GEEZ. xD

...Seriously, if Paul stops being a jerk someday, I'm probably jumping on the AgainstShipping bandwagon. xD But for now, I still totally support him with Ursula (Yes, I know they never met, but COME ON.)

This should have been my first sign that this episode was gonna be cool. I mean, Paul? Emotion? Oh, something has gotta happen now.

Random Comment: The more I notice Wobbufett's Japanese name pun, the more sad I am that it got lost in translation.

Sorry, couldn't resist. IT'S BEEN TOO LONG.

So yeah, not much to comment on on the battle its self as much as the emotions running through it. The animation was a bit above par (or is this becoming par? :D) but otherwise, this was about the humans.

So, geez, Paul wasn't always a jerk. He just got the wrong idea and ran with it. I'm not EXCUSING it. His being a jerk to others is not to be excused by that. I just find it interesting seeing what makes him tick.

And geez, Paul was going INSANE in this episode. And he finally comes out with at least part of his thought process. "MY WILL IS MY STRENGTH!" I wish I had that pic where Ash just looked like "8O!" at Paul's rambling, and more importantly, I wish I knew what he was thinking. Was he surprised at such a comment from somebody who acts like tactics are all that matters? Was he appalled that Paul didn't see his Pokemon as any part of his strength, but rather as tools?

Yes, I'd go as far as to say he doesn't even see them as fellow sentient creatures. It shows with the way he treats Chimchar, and Ursaring in this episode wasn't much different. I mean, the more I look at Ash and Chimchar's experiences, the more it seems like Paul shows up later to, or already has, shown the exact opposite action with his Pokemon at some point or another. And I'm not just refering to stuff brought up in Tears For Fears. He doesn't show his regret when he makes a dumb move and gets his pokemon hurt due to his emotions. A few months ago, Chimchar got hurt because Ash was being emotional, and Ash apologized to the point of melodrama. Are the writers trying to pump these opposites this much or did it just happen to be that way? Cause if it was intended... wow, this is the closest knit season of Pokemon by far.

I wish he'd given the answer of why he wants this path. What IS his damage with his brother, anyway? I wonder if it has to do with the parents who we never see. Paul is such fanfic fodder.

AND OH SNAP THERE'S GONNA BE SOME BATTLIN GOIN ON HERE. 8D

Uh... I'd speculate, but I already kinda sorta know some... okay, a lot about this. So I'll shut up and just say this is gonna be amazing.

I haven't done an episode review for Pokemon in a while, huh? Now's as good a time as any to get back on that.

Candice is pretty cool, no pun intended. I like how she ties her sweatshirt around her waist when it's time to get serious. That kinda sounds like something I'd do. xD Come to think of it, aside from how girly she is, I can kinda relate to her.

Poor Gliscor, getting beat pretty quick again. I'd like to see them do another character development arc with it. Vs. Paul's Gliscor needs to happen at some point. Seriously. And speaking of poor pokemon, I winced at Grotle getting PWNED. Seriously, that looked like it hurt. Just look at it! Yikes.

MY BUTT SENSES A DISTURBANCE.*shot* Geez, Chimchar, it's like every time we see you you've learned some new trick. I mean, sensing your opponent's movements? Are you turning into ~~Antauri~~ Yoda or something? You win epically. xD Seriously, this character's development arc is just... just... my inner writer loves this just as much as my monkey fan does. Widdle pokemon ish gwowin up. <3 I was kinda surprised to see Chimchar being Mr. save the gym battle AGAIN. The fact that he's still like "OH HAY I WON?!" after all this is hilarious, but that's Chimchar for ya. I seriously thought they were gonna knock him out before Ash returned him that first time. I guess the fandom probably has some people complaining over on the "overused pokemon" thread via serebii by now, but I'm too horribly bias to care, I have to admit. <3 Then again, aside from gym battles, all he's done lately is come out for a moment to fail at starting a fire, thaw everybody out of ice, or get chased by a lawn mower. xDDDD

Who was his animator today, anyway? Cause they totally cuted him up. It rocked hard. Plus, points to the storyboarder for any posing that wasn't improv'd by said animator, cause this episode had some nice stuff in that area. Except they got his flamethrower wrong, unless they're trying to imply he has better control over it now, which wouldn't surprise me much. Yeah yeah, I'm babbling about him again. But I have the right today, because this...

...IS ONE BIG CROWNING MOMENT OF AWESOME. Seriously, ICE BOARDING?! I love how even Chimchar, who is like the friendship version of a yes man, was looking at Ash funny when he was giving him orders for a second there. xD BUT HE WENT WITH IT AND DID WELL ANYWAY. IS THERE NOTHING THE ADORABLE LITTLE ANGST BUCKET CAN'T DO?

DARNIT. THE EPISODE WAS GOING SO WELL TOO.

Oh, and one last random note: Anybody notice that Chimchar likes to cling to Ash's leg? Like, all the time? That's totally cute. xD

If through some twist of fate, somebody who works at Disney or Pixar is reading this, please keep the hush on it at work! It's a surprise!

So, for many of us, WALL-E has touched us over the summer. So, I say we should thank Pixar for making this film for us to enjoy.

And what about Disney? They gave us a ton of great merchandise, have kept the movie in theaters for a good long time, and are doing some awesome DVD/Bluray releases for it. They deserve a thanks too!

What better way than a thank you card? Well, more like a booklet, really.

Submissions for this are gonna be needed by the last day of October. That gives me enough time to get it all together, because I'd love for them to get this as close to November 18th as I can. So that's the deadline.

Anybody can sign, and for the artists in the group, we also need some artwork to make it look pretty. A few fanfics will be included also, but only 2 or 3, and nothing too long.

The Pixar and Disney cards are each gonna have their own message. Here they are...

Writers can submit fan fiction, but only a total of 5 fanfics will be sent between the two cards (well.... 6. I hope it's okay that I add one of my own to the mix, since I'm putting this thing together and all ^^;) 3 on each. If you want yours considered, please submit a link to it here (pasting whole fics will clog this place up fast) and it'll be added to the consideration list. Poetry is allowed as well. Deadline for this is a week before the deadline for the rest of the card, so people have time to vote on which 5 are gonna go. Okay then! Um.... EVE wants veggies. WALL-E wants whatever EVE wants. OSM wants pepperoni. They settle on pizza with a little bit of each.

Wonder why REQ-N can't do it herself. She's the one with an ion cannon.

So, WALL-E is being controlled by the Pito shippers, and PIX-E must team up with EVE to save SAM-E and WALL-E both. Oh, and the wedding was arranged. EVE is PIX-E's archrival because Auto likes EVE and PIX-E likes Auto.

....I can't believe I just sorted that mess out.

If he opened it, probably either a trust-gaining thing he likes or something that's gonna cause him major problems. XD

Auto doesn't have legs, but putting that point aside....I'm not sure anymore. XD
