Conservation Cafe

Expand your horizons with our Conservation Café series. Join us to discuss science, nature, policy, journalism, art, spirituality, justice, and so much more as we explore all the ways that people work towards conservation and environmental protection. Meet and learn from inspiring speakers and ask them questions live.

Cafés are held Jan–June and Sep–Nov. Programs typically are held 7-8:30 pm and may be in person or via Zoom. Check events for details.

Navigating Nuclear in an Era of Deregulation
With data center development’s energy demands threatening many states’ climate goals, some have proposed nuclear energy as the source to reliably power data centers without relying on fossil fuels. But recent weakening of federal regulations for nuclear energy have prompted concerns for the safety of nuclear for communities and the environment. Join Nature Forward and Dr. Edwin Lyman from Union of Concerned Scientists to learn about the risks and benefits of nuclear energy, the impacts of recent federal changes, and what you can do to keep your community safe.
