1. Introduction
NativeSync Chat ("Service", "we", "us") provides a real-time translation chat widget for WordPress and Shopify
stores. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Service. We
are committed to processing only the minimum personal data required to deliver our service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Store Owners (Merchants)
- Account information: Email address and password when you register.
- Shop configuration: Shop name, preferred language, widget settings, Shopify domain (for
Shopify stores).
- Payment information: Processed securely by Shopify Billing (for Shopify stores) or PayPal
(for other platforms). We store only subscription/charge IDs, never credit card details.
2.2 Website Visitors (Chat Users)
- Chat messages: Original and translated text of messages sent through the widget.
- Visitor information: Name, email, and phone number — only if voluntarily provided in the
pre-chat form. These fields are optional.
- Browser language: Used to auto-detect the visitor's preferred language for translation.
- Page URL: The page where the chat was initiated, displayed to the merchant for context.
- IP address: See Section 4 below for details.
We do NOT collect: browsing history, purchase data, cookies, or any
data beyond what is listed above.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide real-time translation of chat messages between merchants and customers.
- To display conversations to shop owners in their dashboard.
- To send notifications (Telegram, browser push, if configured by the shop owner).
- To enforce usage limits and manage subscriptions.
- To improve the Service and fix bugs.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes. We do
not sell personal data to third parties.
4. Log Data & IP Addresses
When customers interact with the NativeSync Chat widget, we securely collect their IP addresses. This data is
displayed to the merchant solely for contextual purposes (e.g., identifying the customer's approximate region to
better assist with language barriers) and for security/anti-spam measures. IP addresses are retained only for as
long as the associated chat conversation is kept by the merchant, and will be permanently deleted when the
merchant uninstalls the app or requests data erasure.
5. Data Minimization
We only collect the minimum personal data necessary to provide our translation chat service. All data collected
serves a specific, necessary purpose for delivering our service. We regularly review our data collection
practices to ensure compliance with this principle.
6. Merchant Data Processing Disclosure
We want merchants to understand exactly what personal data we process on their behalf:
- Merchant data: Email address and store name — used for account authentication and service
delivery only.
- Customer data: Name, email, phone (when voluntarily provided via pre-chat form), chat
messages, and browser language — used solely to provide real-time translation chat support.
- No data is sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes.
- Translation data: Chat messages are sent to DeepL API for translation and are not stored by
DeepL after processing.
Merchants can view, export, or request deletion of all data associated with their store at any time by contacting
us.

- Chat messages (text): Retained permanently for as long as the merchant's account is active.
- Images: Retained for 30 days on the Free plan; permanently on the Pro plan.
- Account information: Retained for as long as your account is active.
- Shopify uninstall: When a merchant uninstalls our Shopify app, their data is scheduled for
deletion within 48 hours as per Shopify's requirements.
Customers can request data deletion at any time by contacting us.
9. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS)
policies ensuring merchants can only access their own data. We do not sell or share personal data with third
parties for marketing purposes.
10. Cookies & Local Storage
The chat widget uses localStorage (not cookies) to remember the visitor's chat session. No tracking cookies are
used. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded.
11. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to data processing
- Data portability
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. If you are in the EU, you have
rights under GDPR including access, rectification, and erasure.
