THE RECORD

After a long 5 years, I’m finally releasing my next record. Heirloom comes out May 29th through Free Dirt Records. This record is an awfully special one for me for a number of reasons.

1. It captures a season of growth and loss, telling the story of becoming and losing a dad while trying to hold onto a sense of hope and sanity in this unraveling shitshow.

2. This is the first record I haven’t self-produced. Somewhere down the line, I realized it was time to turn over a new leaf and bring a trusted voice into the process. I’m incredibly grateful for what my good buddy Zachary Hamilton brought to Heirloom.

3. Over the last few years, I’ve gotten back to doing what I do best--writing songs that have some teeth to them. This collection of songs feels most like me: a little mean and sad, plenty neurotic, and unafraid of their message. This record isn’t for everyone, and that’s a good thing.

The Singles: This spring, we are releasing a few singles from Hierloom. So far we have released Lots of Beginnings and will be releasing Sevindust and Little Bit of Shine before the full release. Tell your people.

ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

To celebrate the release of the record, we will be having a big ole album release show on May 30 at The Basement in Nashville, TN. Stephanie Lambring, one of my Nashville songwriting GOATS, will be opening for me. It’s incredibly stupid to pick an opener who will mogg your set, but I really can’t help myself. Speaking of mogging, Clover-Lynn will be joining me on banjo. Afterwards, we will be migrating to my neighborhood bar for an afterparty at Vinyl Tap. Big weekend and you’re invited.

New Merch OTW: In addition to vinyl and CD of the new record, we’ll be rolling out two new shirts and a zine/seedpack with some of my very own heirloom okra seeds. Stay tuned.

How to Support: Until Big Machine offers me a Godfather 360 deal, this is still an independent operation.
