Effective Sept. 1, 2026, parking rates at TRU will increase for daily, monthly, semester and yearly permits.
We encourage students to review their parking needs in advance, especially before participating in the 2026/27 parking lottery which begins mid- to late April.

TRU Safe is Thompson Rivers University’s official safety app. It allows the university to send emergency alerts and important safety information directly to your phone.
To ensure you receive these notifications, please take a moment to open the TRU Safe app and confirm that notifications are enabled on your device.
Keeping your app settings up to date helps ensure you receive important safety information when it matters most.
If you do not already have the app, it can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
If you are looking to play on the multi-sport courts outside Old Main, you can now borrow basketballs from the Security Desk in Old Main (Student Street).

TRU is installing privacy-focused occupancy sensors in several campus buildings to better understand how classrooms, study spaces and service areas are used throughout the day.
The sensors help the university plan and schedule spaces more effectively. They do not record audio or video and cannot identify individuals. The technology only produces anonymous estimates of how busy a space is.
