    Keir Finlow-Bates is an absolute master of the analogy and this book is full of fantastic ones. He takes a complicated technology and breaks it up into chunks and then takes those chunks and turns them into real-life examples that can be consumed by anyone. He does this all with a perfect blend of humor, a bit of rebellion, and just enough technical info to educate without overwhelming.

    If you're curious at all about blockchain, you need to read this book. If you aren't curious at all about blockchain, you definitely need to read this book. If you believe that blockchain, ownership of our identities in a digital world, and anonymity is pointless or only for criminals then I am absolutely begging you to go read this book.

    For those brand new to blockchain or to whom blockchain is a total mystery, this book will give you the groundwork and understanding you need.

    For veteran blockchain developers, this book may get you thinking differently toward use-cases and spark that billion dollar idea you can change our world with.

    What was my initial reaction - Skeptical: Yes, the cover is a bit quirky, it could have proudly graced the cover of a punk rock album from the 1970’s. Other crypto and blockchain books may have complex looking covers but that does not guarantee the quality of your learning journey!

    What came next - Intrigued: Chapter titles – some I instantly knew what would be covered, others I would only find out after diving in and reading. Read the chapter, mark it up and review your mark ups – you will get a lot out of each chapter.

    What was my reaction after reading the book - Outstanding: I found Keir’s intuitive way of taking the reader through the complexity of the blockchain and crypto very refreshing and insightful – he does an outstanding job. It’s all too easy to jump down the rabbit hole of blockchain and forget what you are trying to understand as the technical complexity overwhelms you – Keir is very clear in his explanations.

    What stood out - Analogies: Having taught finance for many years I have always found the best way to help participants to build up an intuitive understanding of a complex product/market is to use analogies. Keir has a wonderful ability to select different analogies and use them to cut through the complexity and he is brutally honest when the analogy starts to break down.

    An exciting, well written journey through the world of Blockchain with an easy-to-read and fun style, not something you normally associate with the subject matter.

    The author is obviously a true expert and the content is authoritative, informative and just plain interesting!
