Replying to Time Machine, April 2026

Time Machine, May 2026

There are zero (0) bad tracks on Motor Songs, Bulgarian Cartrader’s genre-hopping album I purchased after just one listen, which boasts multiple contenders for Song of the Summer 2026 despite being released in 2022.

An amazing thing about Motor Songs is that, other than being killer bops, the songs have virtually nothing in common stylistically: we move from hints of early Animal Collective to echoes of TURNSTILE, take a detour past Flight of the Conchords, then double-back for Nelly, some Sugar Ray, and a half-dozen other styles.

And somehow, they’re all so, so good.
