This is the weird little subfandom that could. I loved Defender of the Universe when I was a kid, and I'm enjoying Legendary Defender, but VF is something special. Pidge and Vince are my faves. I love exploring Vince's connection with the Lions! I love that Pidge is a ninja DJ scientist! I love that Pidge gives up Green out of duty, and that Vince is ready to take on the role from him. Pidge gave him a new eye! I adore them. They can be science bros, they can be boyfriends (yes please!), just give me the two of them together nerding out or traveling home together or copiloting Green and I'll be happy. I like the other characters, especially Allura, Larmina, and Sven. The only secondary ship I'm interested in is Keith/Allura. I'm familiar with the tie-in comics and the epilogue comic (OH MY HEART) so feel free to incorporate that if you want.

Are these windows into alternate universes? Visits from long-lost twins? Opportunities for clonecest? I have no idea, I only know that being seduced by a sexier version of you then having weird sex with yourself on your new imaginary chair/bed/table is something I never knew I needed before I saw these commercials. World-building is a bonus here how is this happening, and do the pairs team up to stop it / make it happen a lot more often so everyone can share in the fun? Not all characters need to appear; my favorite pair is from "Tonight I Celebrate my Love For You" but they're all fun.

Every time I reread this book, this is the ship of my heart. Tom and Nick find each other in the midst of destruction. They can barely communicate with each other. But they have a deep connection right from the start. I'd love to read the story where Nick didn't die, either in an explosion or in Vegas, and he and Tom get together after Flagg is defeated. I want them to have their happy ending together, whatever that looks like. Sex optional. If you're committed to killing off Nick, then show me the story of how his ghost lives with Tom for the rest of Tom's days.

The women on this show give me a lot of feelings. They're allowed to be weird and gross and big and slimy and have their own wants and needs. Pirate Queen Oona who shares custody of her half-human kid is everything I ever wanted in a cartoon character. I love how faily Bean is, and how loyal she is to the people she cares about. I love that Tess is her own person who gets pissed off at the things that happen to her. I love that Ursula is as happy being in her forest as she is having awkward sex with Zog. Give me a day in the life, or an adventure where they're working together. Not all characters have to appear. I prefer no ships for Bean.

On a show full of damaged people trying to build better lives for themselves, the utter moral vacuity of Deirdre Robespierre haunts me. She's smart, she's the kind of beautiful that will only become harder to maintain over time, she's scratched her way to the top of the Mommy Pyramid in their social circle, and she lied about a break-in when she shot herself. Deirdre's damaged and desperate. I want to know what she was and how she became this, and why she sacrificed every last ounce of her own soul for this empty life she hates. I don't ship her with Jacqueline, but I can definitely see a one-sided obsession on her part with this woman who chooses to throw away the things Deirdre has cut out own heart to get. Does she follow Jacqueline's lead and break away? Has she had an archnemesis before, and did that end with bloodshed, sex, cutting remarks at PTA meetings, or all three? Does Deirdre become a maniacal supervillain complete with haute couture cape and minions to touch up her roots with the blood of her enemies? Tell me more about her, please!

This is my absolute favorite Billy Joel song. It's lyrical and gutting, and it gives no easy answers to anything. I'm not even into traditional war canons as a rule, but I want to know everything about the world of the song. The transition from eager young Marines who thought they'd win in a day to the horror-struck soldiers who discovered their enemy was smart and war was hell. The bonds they created and broke. The story from the other side of the war. Ghosts refighting the same conflict night after night long after the war is over. If Vietnam is too close as a setting, feel free to transpose the characters into other times and places, or even in space. I'd prefer no crossovers with this request. Slash, gen, or het are all fine, and this is a case where my "no OCs please" would not apply.

This song has always bugged me, and watching GotG 2 helped me put my finger on why: Brandy deserves better. I want a story where Brandy is happy. Does her sailor come back one day and stay? Is she happy with the arrangement they have? Does she live the opposite life of that guy who has a girl in every port, and instead, she has a guy on every ship and likes things that way? Does she preferentially go after men with the same name, because there are many Toms and Bobs and Harrys on each ship, or does she change out her necklace when Tombobharry is in port? Alternately, does Brandy tell everyone the story about the sailor, the only man she'll ever love, see here his name on her necklace as evidence he existed, then go home each night to the woman the rest of the town believes is her roommate or her cousin? More metaphysical: is the sailor in love with the personification of the sea ala a formless spirit as in Moana or a physical being as in Pirates of the Caribbean, and does Brandy eventually fall in love with her as well? The point of view in the song is semi-omniscient, but there's a lot of room for other stories the singer doesn't know or isn't telling.

I am fine with a story of their early friendship from back in school, of their mad adventures together now and in the future, whatever. I like the rest of the cast. What do they do in the new theatre? Does everyone sign on to perform? You can crossover with any other anthropomorphized animal canon you'd like (Zootopia, BoJack, Roger Rabbit for starting preferences but I'm pretty open --- picture if you will Disney's Robin Hood) or keep it strictly within the Sing canon.

This can be a OR request. This show broke me and I am still ruminating on the last season. I love, for varying definitions of the word, all the characters, and I'd be happy to see any of them appear. I've specifically chosen the characters who cracked open and bled out on the screen. In Bea's memories, Honey became a faceless shadow after her surgery, but Bea's memories are no longer reliable. What was their relationship like after Crackjack and the aftermath? What was it like before? We only saw a glimpse in The Old Sugarman Place, but surely a lot of weird went into creating the bitter woman Bea became. Sarah Lynn bent until she broke, but who else could she have been in another life? Did she daydream about architecture while she was up on stage? Was there ever an opening for her, however small, to escape Hollywoo and her fate, or was in set in stone by everyone around her? Like the Sing request, this can be crossed over with other anthropomorphized animal properties or not as you choose.

Yuletide Reveals

2016 is finally over. Thank fuck.

My yuletide gift this year was Meet Again On Separate Paths by LovelyPoet, a gorgeous Neverending Story fic about finding your way home via the long way around.

I did not write much this year. I loved the letter from my recipient Fenellaevangela and I feel terrible for not writing at least three fics based off all the ideas in the letter. I did write The Case of the Golden Head, Sky High, eventual Warren/Layla. I also wrote a Mulan drabble and a Darkwing Duck short for Madness. Then I realized both had the tag "Father/Daughter Relationship," and I stopped writing.

My yuletide resolution for 2017 is if the depression is this bad during the writing period next time, I'm defaulting. I've participated without defaulting every year since 2003. It might be time for a break.

I have a Dreamwidth, same username, though I'm not sure if I'll use my circle there. I use LJ primarily as an RSS reader and occasionally a means of writing down a to do or grocery list visible only to me and Abrazak. Id has an inactive Tumblr, and my Facebook is primarily for keeping in touch with people from back home. I have the same AOL address that I've used since 1996. You can find me around.

2016 saw the death of the grandmother I lived with for years as a child, the sudden death of my father, and the suicide of my best friend from college. I spent the last several weeks of the year desperate to keep my kids alive past the new year. (They're fine.) I am glad to see the year gone. 2017 doesn't promise much in the way of good, but I can close off one year of terrible.

Happy New Year! Welcome to the future, or as we will refer to it a year from now, the past! I've been quiet on the fandom front and taking everything in, but my two word non-spoiler review of everything I have been watching (Supergirl, Sleepy Hollow, Agents of SHIELD, Doctor Who, Star Wars and probably Sherlock later tonight) can be summed up by two words:

MY BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, yuletide has come and gone, and has left me multiple goodies under my virtual Winter Solar Holiday Plant. My main gift was written for my very favorite Disney Channel musical. you come along on summer days was written by annemari for ME! It is the fluffiest, most wonderful Teen Beach Movie gift I could imagine, all Lela and Mack being adorable together in every way. I also received two wonderful treats based on the Pina Colada Song. doreyg wrote Getting Caught in the Acid Rain, and rise_your_dead wrote c://dos/run/prog/iwastiredofmyoldlady, both takes on the seriously broken relationship at the center of the song, except updated and in space! :D

I wrote a bit this year. Amusingly enough, the two big treats I wrote this year were Lela Queen of the College Admissions Process which is more Lela/Mack for annemari and To Hear The Angels Sing for doreyg, which is JLU Clark/J'onn growing close over the years. This tickles me greatly. :D My main assignment was written for draytons, a prequel to the Bradbury short story "There Will Come Soft Rains" called That Day and That Hour Knoweth None.

I wrote several other treats this year. The runaway hit (oh my GOD) was Accio Insurance, which was what I had originally intended to request about how the State Farm insurance agents are clearly wizards, which means so are the rest of the insurance mascots, including Flo, Mayhem, and the Gecko, and if they are insurance wizards, there's clearly an insurance wizarding school named Aflac.

I wrote two Last Unicorn fics, including a Molly and Amalthea friendship fic called Cleïs for bookishwench, and a short about the harpy called Cages. I wrote Gargoyles OT3 fluff, Hellboy Red&Abe&Liz fluff, Night at the Museum Tiny little OTP fluff, Gonzo the Great angsty fluff, Supergirl Alex/Kara fluff, and Pennsyltory which is a weird-ass afterlife fic for the song "The Weight" by The Band. Also, a few short Madness treats for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Sleepy Hollow, Minions, and Stay by Shakespear's Sister.

I had a great time writing this year. 2016 has a lot of good things looming on the horizon, and I'm excited!

(A little late, but the second to last guest from New Years went home today, and I have no regrets about spending time with friends.)

Yay yuletide! I got not one but three lovely gifts: "The Five(ish) Doctors Christmas Special! (with hobbits)" by valderys (Fiveish Doctors Reboot), "Let Us Live and Love" by youjik33 (Night at the Museum, Jed/Octavius aka my Tiny Little OTP), and "The Close of Years Now Past" by Who Shot AR (The Mummy, Jonathan and Evy growing up together).

For my offerings this year, I wrote two fics for my recipient, kharamagic: "Meet Yourself Coming From the Other Direction" (Wreck-It-Ralph, Calhoun/Felix + alternate universes when you're a game character) and "Beso" (Girl Meets World/Boy Meets World, all the OT3s). I also wrote five treats in Justice League, Physics Anthropomorphic, The Princess Bride, and Asimov's Robots Series, as well as a full length Sleepy Hollow treat for Mithrigil, "Bustability," in which Ben Franklin is the worst boss ever.

As usual, I had a blast and I hope everyone else did, too.

(I realize this is harder with apocafic. Don't kill off my faves or the kid or the dog, and you're probably okay.)

The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot:

I love this short LIKE PIE. The crochety doctors. McGann's super-busy schedule. Barrowman. Moff and his toys. Georgia, omg, GEORGIA. All the things. I would love to see the continuing adventures of the actors. Maybe they try to launch their own reboot of the series. Maybe some of the other actors from the show try to get in on the deal and/or sabotage it. (Think: Derek Jacobi bickering the whole time with one of the Doctors; Georgia's headache over her dad's antics; actors from the spinoffs popping up with a headshot and a hopeful smile.) Wants: humor, light-hearted poking at the cast in line with the tone of the original short. Do Not Wants: bashing of anyone. I like all the people involved in the production of DW and the spinoffs.

Justice League:

John/Shayera remains my OTP for this fandom. I love all the weird, twisty, angsty parts of their relationship. I am more than happy to ignore the events of the JLBeyond comics continuity if you are. (Seriously. If the John/Shayera shippers could be respectful of John's relationship with Mari, and not fridge her for grate angst!!11, you would think the pros could manage the same thing. And you would be wrong. STILL BITTER.) That said, I love Shayera's friendship with Mari, and I love her friendship with Wally, and I love seeing the entire Big Seven hanging out and kicking butt. It's all good. (And in light of my other requests, feel free to tie in the wacky Egyptian mythology of this series if the spirit so moves you.)

The Mummy Series:

I want all the adventures of Little Evy and Little Jonathan. Their mum and dad, their school days, the mad adventures and terrible scrapes they surely got themselves into. All of it. Were they raised in Egypt? Did they go to school in England? How did their background affect their childhoods, and how did they grow? I haven't seen the third movie and don't care to.

Night at the Museum:

This is an OR request. Maybe you can write about Ahkmenrah's adventures before his current museum. He's had the tablet with him for a long time. (Crossovers with The Mummy franchise are welcome and would make me lol forever.) Alternately, what's it like to be Easter Island Head? He's a giant head. Does he think giant thoughts? Is he just in it for the gum? If those fail you in inspiration, I love Jedidiah/Octavius as the world's tiniest OTP. I plan on seeing the third movie before reveals but do not worry about the continuity.

All of the prompts are suggestions. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Yuletide Things

So it was Yuletide and I did the thing. Yay?

I got three prezzies this year! taraljc who loves me lots wrote Hidden Heart, which is a Gargoyles fic with Princess Katharine (aka the character I would have named JT after had he been a girl instead). karrenia_rune wrote me a "Piano Man" treat called Nuts and Bolts about an original character (Davey's daughter). Then desert_vixen wrote a He-Man drabble called Darkest Hour which was exactly everything I have always wanted in post-apocalyptic He-Man fic. I am delighted and blessed, and you should go and read all three fics right now. I'll wait.

Okay, back? Good.

As usual, I kind of went overboard. Hide your shock. My assignment was Carrefour, a Neverwhere fic, Richard/Door with slight hints of Richard/Door/marquis de Carabas ('cause eustacia_vye mentioning liking OT3s but not if this one was among that number). I picked up two pinch hints. First, I wrote Prehistoric Park Series Two for tetsubinatu, which is exactly what it says on the tin. (Prehistoric Park remains a delight forever.) I also wrote a tropealicious Transformers pinch hit for dellessa.

In the treats department, I wrote a full-sized Justice League/JLU treat for Kansas42 called Gifts, in which Shayera and Wally are bffs, also there are Barbies. I wrote On the Nature of Footnotes for Oddegg, a fun little Discworld fic about everyone's favorite literary aid. I wrote a Sarah Jane Adventures fic for recessivejean called Virgin Births which combines my favorite tropes of confused newcomers to traditions and built families. Then I wrote a lot of little ficlets and drabbles for Empire Records (Deb), Indiana Jones (OFC), Warm Bodies (R/Julie), Holes (Kate/Sam), The Last Unicorn (Molly/Schmendrick), Wreck it Ralph (ensemble), Mythbusters RPF (Grant/robot), and Slings & Arrows (Geoffrey/Ellen/art).

So happy yuletide, and here's to the New Year, may she be a damn sight better than old one (Potter, no, the other one).

Hi! If it's your first yuletide, welcome to the party. If you've been here for years, we've probably seen each other around. I've participated in this fest since 2003, and if you're here to stalk me, feel free to visit my yuletide tag for previous requests, old gifts, and a long list of things I like. :)

Basically, I like happy fics for the dark of the year. I like various 'ship genres but usually have a preference for who's shipped with whom, and it's almost always canon pairings. (Yes, I'm still arguing Diana/Audrey is practically canon. Even now. Shut up. She threw a tank through the church to stop the wedding. And I didn't request that this year.)

The following are prompts and ideas. Some include ideas for possible crossovers with other shows, but consider these suggestions only, and I'd prefer no crossovers with large fandoms. In general, if you're writing about the requested characters, I'm going to be happy.

Piano Man - Billy Joel

Thirty years of listening to this song, and I'd never noticed that Paul, "who never had time for a wife," was chatting up Davey the sailor. (Not married to the spelling on that.) So. For this fandom I would love to read any of the following: Something with Paul and Davey figuring things out. Something about the waitress, including her name, and does she ever go into politics for real? Something about all the patrons and the bartender in the future (does he become a movie star or do community theatre?) perhaps incorporating the previous ideas. If you're feeling really creative and want to stretch, re-imagine it in a space station bar and go from there. Or they're all ghosts who died in a fire at the bar and are doomed to relive the seventies forever. Dunno.

Gargoyles

I love all the nominated characters LIKE PIE. I want all the adventures with David and Fox and Owen being scheming badasses (and possibly having all the sex with each other). I want Owen's non-angsty adventures out-thinking his banishment and dealing with Avalon. I want happy cutesy fics when Angela and her rookery sibs are babies on Avalon being raised by Mummy Katharine and two Daddies. I want Fox going off and having adventures, and dealing with her mother, or with the Pack, or constructing her own Xanatos Gambits. My canon preference is to ignore The Goliath Chronicles but I'm open to something that does the silk purse routine on them. I like the comics. I'm not stepping into the "are they canon?" argument today because I don't care. Ships I sail: Xanatos/Fox, Xanatos/Owen/Fox, Katharine/Tom and Katharine/Magus (not sure if you could make Katharine/Magus/Tom work but I'm open to the idea), and all the canon ships even the competing ships

He-Man (possible crossover with She-Ra)

I want the fic where Queen Marlena and the Sorceress kick ass and take names. Doing so with their daughters would be a bonus ('cause I love Teela and I love Adora), but not required. Doing so with their daughters and Adam (and the rest of the gang) as they help take down the Horde once and for all would be awesome. But one adventure is just fine. Ships I sail: Marlena/Randor, Sorceress/Man-At-Arms, Teela/Adam, Adora/Seahawk

Prehistoric Park (possible crossover with Jurassic Park)

I want the fic whose summary begins, "All was well until ..." with the variations along the lines of, "Bob and Suzanne accidentally go back in time with Nigel," or "the day Nigel brought back a Cro-Magnon," or "some idiot decided the surviving dinosaurs at Isla Soma needed to be rehomed." Basically, let Sod's Law reign. Crack fic and crossovers welcome but please do keep the focus on the requested characters. Maybe Nigel rescues the last dodo bird and it's Gogo from Tiny Toons. Whatever. Ships I sail: Bob/trouble (my family's catchphrase for this show is "Poor Bob"), Nigel/Gryffindor-like stupid bravery, Suzanne/competence in the face of the unknown

Batman Beyond (possible crossover with Justice League Unlimited)

As always, fic about the team dynamics of the Justice League Beyond is my catnip, and Warhawk/Aquagirl is my OTP that wasn't supposed to become canon but hey I'm not objecting. The four of them (or more with Terry and Superman and Virgil and Barda) bickering and fighting bad guys? Awesomesauce. Aquagirl and Warhawk out on a date (especially if you decide to incorporate things like this from the comics)? Awesomesauce. Time-travel shenanigans where they go back to the JL/JLU period and have to avoid their parents? Awesomesauce. Max joins in? Danica? Awesomesauce.

It's the most wonderful time of the (new) year: yuletide reveals! My ZOMG fantabulous prezzie this year was written by Cinaed, and I cannot rec this fic enough. Diana/Audrey is my guilty pleasure femslash OTP in JL/JLU, and "The Head That Wears a Crown" is just a perfect moment with them in an established relationship, which is my favorite kind of fic. I am over the damn moon, people. :D :D

Beta brag: of you haven't already, go read Lay Across the World and Explode Everything which amilyn wrote to fill in the gaps between the first two Terminator films. It is SARAH and she is AMAZING and READ IT!

This year, I wrote seven fics, four full-sized fics and three Madness treats. My assignment fic was Godma, or, the Seven Tages of Grace (Dogma) for dhampyresa. I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith's movies, and this fic let me play more with the characters. It was hard writing, because I am such a dork, and frankly I could not figure out how to make something worthy of the original, and I never did nail Bethany's voice (sorry), but I was pleased with how the rest of the characters' parts turned out.

I picked up a Candle Cove prompt that I missed catching as a pinch hit, and wrote On the Good Ship Laughingstock for sailorhathor as a treat. This one completely wrote itself, so that was kind of creepy given the source material. I did like the idea, given the original format of the creepypasta, that the characters were basically us. I enjoyed all the fics written for Candle Cove this year, so if you want to take the less than five minutes to read the original here, you may want to give the other fics a read. Assuming you like horror and don't mind not sleeping ever again.

While I was looking through the full prompts listing, I happened to see sotto_voice's prompts, and wrote Fire and Water and the Car That Went Zoom (Hellboy) to celebrate our mutual adoration of Liz Sherman. She also prompted Static fic, and as a matter of fact, so had fresne when I read her prompts, and that idea ended up becoming with the roses of the may (Static Shock), a story about Virgil Hawkins approaching forty.

Birthday Bash (He-Man & She-Ra) was inspired by foxy11814's prompt, with a dollop of my old head canon thrown in. Adora is home for a shared birthday party with her twin, but birthdays aren't the same for her. Fortunately, she finds a friend who understands.

Arktos (Brave) was written for birgitriddle to answer the question of why the witch was so fixated on bears. I am tremendously pleased on how it turned out.

Finally, Still As Sweet (The Incredibles) is a drabble about Violet picking her Super name, written for ficwize.

Yay Yuletide! I hope the New Year is going well for you and yours. I have been ringing in 2013 with good friends and a job I like, and it's all good.

Now that the relatives have left, I've dived face-first into yuletide and fandom again, and it's a glorious feeling. Yule and Christmas came and went with goodies both real and virtual. (I have Pratchett movies! And audiobooks! And the worst Sherlock Holmes film ever made! My fannish delight runneth over, even if I couldn't properly explain to the family why.)

Also, this has been my Christmas of Fictional Lesbians! Not only did Doctor Who provide me with squealing joy on that front, my sekrit yuletide author wrote me the JLU femslash pairing of my heart.

The Head That Wears a Crown is an absolutely adorable Audrey/Diana established relationship fic, in that super-rare Audrey POV that actually addresses the political issues in Kasnia post-MOH. Anonymous author, somewhere the Maestro is smiling on you. :)

Hello there, and thanks for writing for me. yuletide is my favorite time of the fandom year, for reasons, and I appreciate the time you're spending on me for this.

For my previous letters, and links to what I tend to request and have written, take a quick scroll through my Yuletide tag. I've got links to my AO3 and ff.net accounts along the side which may also be helpful. :) I like het and gen and slash and femslash, and I have my die-for-my-ships for each. I like post-apocalypse and I like hopeful fic with happy endings. I like villainesses who are flawed and awesome, and I like heroes who are perfectly heroic. I love crossovers, so if you care to cross the fandoms I've requested with each other, or with related fandoms that make sense, that'd be cool with me. (For example, crossing Static Shock with Justice League would be fine. Crossing Static Shock with Torchwood would not. And so on.) I don't like non-con, I don't like underage, I do like women who are active in the plot, I'm not a fan of original characters. I am not married to the canon in any of my fandoms, so don't worry about getting the details perfect: I'm in it for the characters.

This year, what I'm really craving from fic is either a) gen-based team romps of the various casts, or b) feel-good post-apocalyptic Christmas (or other holiday) on the moon. Combining those two ideas in some fashion would be spectacular but mostly, if the characters are interacting and it's featuring the particular characters I requested, I'm going to be happy. Specific notes: for Gargoyles, I love Xanatos/Fox, and Xanatos/Owen/Fox, but only Xanatos/Owen if it's specifically an open poly relationship where Fox is aware and approving. (I love polyfidelity in fiction, but really hate characters who cheat. It's a thing.) For Static Shock, I have written Virgil/Richie but I don't ship it myself; I have a preference for Virgil/Daisy or Virgil/Frieda, and I'm fine with Richie/anybody. If you're doing Misses Claus, note that while I didn't select Sharon specifically, I love her dearly in all her "I have had enough of this shit" glory, so feel free to have her be dragged into the plot and annoyed the whole time.

Yuletide Squee

It's time for yuletide reveals, and I got not one but four stories this year. :D :D :D

I requested fic about Vanessa from Phineas and Ferb, and received two lovely stories featuring her: A Good Nemesis is Hard to Find (2071 words) by Chibifukurou and My Big Fat Doofenshmirtz Wedding (2301 words) by Kariszma83

I also got a Vanessa-based Madness treat that is delightfully cackle-worthy: One for the scrapbook (631 words) by thenewradical

I had nominated and requested the song 99 Love Balloons due to the interesting world-building behind the story told in the song, and I was given this awesome femslash fic: Falling in Love on Free Day (2342 words) which was also by Kariszma83

So, thank you writers, these were a joy to read. :D

For my part, I only wrote three fics this year. Bedtime Stories was a new Thundercats fic I had SO MUCH FUN writing for hokuton_punch. Thundercats is really the One True Fandom of my heart, which tells you everything you ever needed to know about where my standards are set. AND I DON'T CARE. GIMME FIC. *cough*

I picked up a pinch hit for girl_called_sun in American Gods, and wrote The Man in the Gaberdine Suit, which turned out a lot more surreal than I had planned, but I like how it worked. Then I saw stefy_coool's requests go by on the pinch hit list, and found out she was also all about watching people be eaten by dinosaurs, so I wrote a short treat for her called RAR!, in which Velociraptor has an advice column.

In the real world, dream_scaper managed to track down a River Song dolly FOR ME so I am astoundingly happy. :D I want to set up a diorama where River and Hawkgirl and Lorder Hawkgirl and Lady Jaye go beating up bad guys together.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did this year.

A few helpful hints (I hope) under the cut:

My general list of likes and dislikes is, or ought to be, pretty easy. I love slash, femslash, het, and gen, not in that particular order and varying per fandoms. I don't like incest, noncon, or infidelity. I do like healthy and functional (or interestingly dysfunctional and unhealthy) relationships, including balanced and open poly 'ships. I like happy, hopeful fics, even when they happen to be set in less than upbeat settings. Also! Crossovers! Crossovers are love. If you were inclined to write Evil Mastermind Vanessa versus Evil Mastermind Tinka (they are enemies, and also occasional lovers, or not), whose machinations set off the apocalypse as described in 99 Red Balloons, and is incorrectly later recalled as the "Near Apocalypse of '09" in BB canon, that would also be awesome! Not required or requested specifically, but awesome. :D

Fandoms!

This is an incredibly boppy song about nuclear holocaust. I'd love to find out more about the world of the song, about the narrator and her sweetheart. My current headspace has her with a girlfriend, but I'm open to other interpretations.

- Phineas and Ferb

I would love love love to read the story of how Vanessa grows up, and the amazing (possibly supervillainous) woman she becomes. Does she become an evil mastermind? Does she teach kindergarten? Start a rock band? Take over LOVEMUFFIN or join OWCA? She seems to have a good relationship with her step-monotreme and her mother. Tell me more about her. :D I don't 'ship her in particular, so maybe she hooks up with Johnny, maybe she and Ferb date in grad school, maybe she finds a girlfriend at that one commune, or maybe she's happy on her own.

- Shake It Up

See everything I wrote about Vanessa? It also applies to Tinka. Who does she become? Does she get over herself or become a Super Diva? Does she end up in prison? I want to know what happens in ten or fifteen years. The rest of the cast is welcome to be in the fic. I liked her date with Ty, and they can be together or not. I have trouble seeing Gunther as straight but am open to where you go (no incest, plz).

I have a very weird relationship with Batman Beyond, as I haven't seen most of the series. My interest revolves entirely around the JLU Beyond: Terry, Clark, Barda, Warhawk, Aquagirl, Green Lantern, Micron, Static, and possibly but probably not Gear. Which is to say the entire canon is two eps of BB, three eps of JLU (really only two), one episode of Static Shock, and possibly a couple of issues of the tie-in comics (I've read the original BB comic JLU issues, but have only seen a few scans of the newer one). Tiny canon is tiny.

The story of my heart is a gen romp with the JLU Beyond characters, focusing on Warhawk, Aquagirl, Micron, and Green Lantern. I adore Virgil, so if he shows up as well, that would be awesome. I don't mind seeing Terry and Clark and Bruce in a fic but don't want things to be all about the three of them. I'm a Max fan and believe she ended up donning a cape of her own to be the new Batgirl, and if she joins up, cool. Barda is also welcome, in case that's unclear, though I'm not versed in anything Fourth World.

Solve a tough case, save the planet, all while bickering with each other. Good times.

Barring that, Warhawk/Aquagirl continues to be my bulletproof OTP. (Yes, she has a crush on Terry. I am fine with that. :D )

Tonight, JT and I read the last two chapters of "Charlotte's Web" together. He's been reading it on his own, one chapter a night (he's very specific about that) and I suggested we read this part together in case he got sad. He teared up a little when he read the words "Charlotte died," and needed cuddles, but he was happier at the end with the three little spiders. Girl meanwhile has finished up "Half-Blood Prince" and started reading "Deathly Hallows" tonight. Her reaction to Dumbledore's death: "Wow, that was weird! Can I read the next one now?"

Children's books: death death death angst LOOKAKITTEN! I feel a rewatch of "Bumbie's Mom" coming on.
