Job Title: Soldering Technician
Location: On-site, Calgary, Alberta

Reports to: Production Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Soldering Technician to join our team. This role involves precision soldering of electronic components for multiple sectors, including Defense & Aerospace for high-reliability applications. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience with fine-pitch components, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Soldering Tasks: Perform soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components using hand soldering tools and equipment.
- Inspection: Conduct visual and microscopic inspections to ensure solder joints meet IPC standards and quality requirements.
- Rework and Repair: Address defects or errors in soldering to maintain product quality and compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed work and ensure traceability.
- Compliance: Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards such as IPC-A-610.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; soldering certification required (Note: If your certs are expired, it is OK, but you will need to show that you have been previously certified).
- Experience: 1-3 years of soldering experience, preferably in aerospace or electronics manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in soldering fine-pitch and high-reliability components.
- Familiarity with ESD-safe practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent manual dexterity and spectacular attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Reading and understanding custom cable drawings
