Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Molding Engineer to join our Aerospace manufacturing team. The Molding Engineer will be responsible for overseeing molding processes, ensuring product quality, and troubleshooting issues related to plastic or composite molding in aerospace parts manufacturing. This role requires expertise in mold design, process optimization, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize molding processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Mold Design & Maintenance: Work with suppliers and internal teams on mold design, modification, and maintenance to meet production requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with molding processes and equipment to reduce downtime and defects.
  • Quality Control: Establish and monitor quality metrics related to molding and ensure compliance with aerospace standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the molding process using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for process parameters, troubleshooting guides, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in molding engineering, preferably in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of molding processes, mold design, and material properties.
    • Experience with CAD software and mold flow analysis tools.
    • Familiarity with quality control tools and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hiring Requirements:
    • Must be able to pass a background check suitable for employment with Controlled Goods 
    • May be required to submit for other background checks including: credit, criminal, or other
