Job Title: Automation Engineer – Wire Processing

Job Summary
We are seeking an innovative Automation Engineer – Wire Processing to design, implement, and optimize automated systems for wire processing operations in aerospace manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving efficiency, precision, and scalability through cutting-edge automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Implementation: Develop, implement, and optimize automated equipment and processes for wire processing and assembly operations. Identify opportunities to integrate advanced technologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Workflow Optimization: Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and quality, identifying bottlenecks and troubleshooting areas for improvement. Design and implement process improvements that maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cycle times.
- Equipment Maintenance & Upgrades: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of automated wire processing equipment. Collaborate with equipment vendors and service providers for upgrades, repairs, and training. Develop and maintain maintenance schedules and maintain comprehensive records of system designs, modifications, and other documentation.
- Collaboration and Training: Partner with the production team to ensure seamless operation and integration of automated systems. Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation equipment with existing production systems.
- Compliance: Ensure all automation solutions meet company and industry standards, including safety and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in automation and wire processing. Lead or participate in initiatives to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance overall production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years in automation engineering, with a focus on wire processing or manufacturing (preferred). 3+ years in Industrial equipment, process improvement and manufacturing required. 3+ years in electrical engineering preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming, robotics, control systems and HMI interfaces.
- Familiarity with wire processing equipment and techniques (crimping, cutting, stripping, and terminating machines).
- Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software and automation design principles.

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- This role requires a strategic thinker who can adapt to the unique challenges of the custom cable and wire harness industry while driving efficiency and innovation across the manufacturing process.
