Poetry is prose

bewitched,

a music made

of visual thoughts,

the sound of

an idea. — Mina Loy

kimchipoetry1
kimchi poetry machine

The Kimchi Poetry Machine is an installation of tangible computing-aural, textual, and participatory. When viewers open the jar, they audibly hear feminist poetry and can select paper poems. Evoking a poetry reading from the future, the machine summons impressions of feminism, technology, and poetry in the digital age.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE POEM?

“Why am I compelled to write?… Because the world I create in the

writing compensates for what the real world does not give me.

By writing I put order in the world,

give it a handle

so I can grasp it. ”

— Gloria E. Anzaldúa
