The Love Dishes Project
Something you may not know about me is that I love to cook. Even more than that I love to teach others how to cook. So much so that I have even gotten jobs in the past that have allowed me to demonstrate cooking meals to customers, most recently as an Apron’s cook at Publix.
I even teach some of my closest friends how to cook, most notably my best friend Andy who didn’t know how to do anything but macaroni and cheese when I met him. Teaching is a joy and it makes me happy when friends tell me that they don’t go out to eat as often because they feel confident enough to cook at home.
So when it was suggested to me to make a cooking blog I jumped all over it. Taking favorite dishes from my childhood and showing people how to make them step by step, even including pictures of every step.
Suddenly I got an idea. A cookbook, based off of the blog which was coming steadily popular with friends and family! It would be filled with recipes both from the blog and from my personal recipe box and would follow the same format as the blog, showing step by step pictures of how to do each recipe. And thus a dream was born.
Unfortunately life and finances caught up with me. Being on a strict food budget meant not being able to purchase the ingredients needed for each recipe. Then the ultimately worst thing happened. The camera broke. And thus Love Dishes went on hiatus. But it was never far from my mind or far from the minds of those who loved it. I continued to work on the cookbook the best I could in private and always planned a return to the blog when I could.
What I didn’t know is that self publishing, especially a book in the style of the Love Dishes cookbook, is very expensive! As someone living paycheck to paycheck it’s very hard to cough up the several thousand dollars it would cost to get the cookbook edited and printed plus distributed! So does this mean the dream dies?
No! The Love Dishes Project was started on Kickstarter yesterday and it needs your help! This project will provide funding to restart Love Dishes on its own .com domain, purchase new camera equipment to take step by step pictures of each recipe, and above all else get the Love Dishes cookbook published and distributed!
So now I am asking for your help. Go here: The Love Dishes Kickstarter Project
Donate. Signal Boost. Pass it along to anyone and everyone. If I want to make this dream come true I need help. And believe me, help will not go unnoticed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! Much love and many blessings to you all!
PS - I am leaving this post unlocked if you'd like to share it! Thank you!!
