If it's hard to hear where you are, or if you'd rather not watch a video, you can read about MotoLogic and how to use its features below.

Selecting a Car

After logging in, you'll land on the home page where you can select the vehicle that you're working on. You can select a vehicle with the Year, Make, and Model dropdowns, or you can enter a VIN or a License Plate (including State). Further down the page, your previous 10 vehicles and 10 articles per vehicle are stored for fast lookups.

Searching for Information

After selecting a car, you're ready to search for information. MotoLogic provides three ways to search: by Keyword Search, the OEM Table of Contents, or by Vehicle Subsystems

Keyword Search allows you to type in words or phrases and search across all articles. When using Keyword Search, there are a few different search filters to the left of the results. The default filter is "All InfoTypes", and it will allow you to search all of the information available for a vehicle. The other modes offer quick filtering for article types such as: Labor Times, Maintenance, Bulletins, or Diagnostics.

Once you start typing, search terms will automatically be suggested. You can either select one from the dropdown, or continue typing your search and hit Enter or click the Search button.

The results of your search will appear as articles below. If you'd like to further refine your search, you can use the Infotypes tabs on the left hand side to filter your results by categories like Repair, Diagnostics, Diagrams, and Labor Times.

Vehicle Subsystems If you prefer clicking through a systems tree rather than using Keyword Search, then Vehicle Subsystems tab is right for you. MotoLogic has grouped information into major vehicle systems and subsystems, giving you a quick and easy menu to find repair information.

OEM Table of Contents Finally, if you've worked at a dealership, subscribe to a manufacturer website, or like the way that manufacturers display their informational menus, the OEM Table of Contents provides a systems tree exactly as you would find it on the OEM repair site.

Using the Article Viewer

After selecting your desired article, you will be taken to the Article Viewer. You can zoom in and out on any article or image, you can print an article to take it with you, or you can bookmark it to save it for later.

Our articles are interactive, and contain hyperlinks to other relevant information. Clicking on a link will open the linked article in the viewer. You can go back to previous pages with your browser's back button, or back to your search results with the "Back to Search Results" button in the Article Viewer toolbar.

On the left hand side of the article is the OEM Table of Contents, which will also show you relevant, grouped information just as the manufacturers do on their websites.

Quickspecs, Maintenance Schedules, and Recalls

In addition to OEM information, MotoLogic provides additional features to assist with your repairs and customer service. Quick Specs is a popular feature, as we've consolidated frequently requested specs for fast lookups. Use the buttons near the top right corner of the page to quickly browse to the information you need. Maintenance Schedules are available as well. Additionally, if you enter a car's VIN, we will automatically search for available recall information for you.

If You Need Help

MotoLogic is fast and easy to use, but if you need some help finding information, our Library and Support Hotline can be reached during working hours in the Support tab. Send us a message or give us a call, and we'll help you get the info you need to complete your repair.
