| Name: Billy Cranston Age: 16 About: The passion that drives Billy is the pursuit of knowledge. From a young age, he has studied chemistry, biology, astronomy, and physics with an intense fervor. Nothing pleases him more than gaining new understanding about how the world around him works. This comes at a price, though: his high intelligence often acts as a barrier between him and other people. With the exceptions of his four (later five) close friends, most people don't bother to approach him. If for some reason you need to seek him out, he can usually be found where there is data to gather or experiments to conduct. He's often paging through books at the library, building a new gadget in his garage, supervising the science club after school, or simply taking in the scenery. But Billy's not a total recluse. Just as often, he'll socialize with and learn from his friends at the Youth Center when they're on breaks. His most important virtues are patience and wisdom: if he hesitates before taking action, it's because he wants to consider his options and make the best choice. But a hero doesn't always have time to think in the heat of battle---which can lead to tragedy, as he's learned. |
| The Secret |
| No one would expect it of the mild-mannered nerd, but Billy is hiding quite a secret. He is the Blue Ranger, one of the five (later six) Power Rangers defending their city of Angel Grove from Rita Repulsa's attempts to conquer the Earth. He was chosen by the great wizard Zordon for his inventor's skills and vast intelligence. At first, he doubted his ability to fight Rita's forces, especially considering his lack of athletic skill when compared to his teammates, but with the encouragement of his friends and the strength of the Triceratops Power, he found his niche in the team as their one and only badass bookworm. In his Blue Ranger form, Billy gains enhanced speed, strength, and stamina, along with a few extra tools to help him along the way. Power Lance: Billy skillfully uses this weapon to apply leverage and drive back the enemy. If the other Rangers are present, it can be combined with the Power Axe, Power Bow, Power Daggers, and Power Sword to form the Power Blaster, a weapon that sends a tremendous blast at the enemy. Blade Blaster: All five Power Rangers carry one of these, a laser gun-type weapon used for long-range combat. It isn't quite as powerful as the Pink Ranger's Power Bow, but it'll help in a pinch. |
