Was ist neu in Version 3.0.5

Version 3.0.5:
  • Fixed issue with expiration if non-appstore versions of MoonMenu were installed previously. Sorry!
  • Better defaults to expand whole window on first run.
  • Fixed GMT offset with lunar quarter times.

Excellent app, nothing else like it. I've been relying on it for years. But it doesn't run under Mojave. Sadness. Any plans to create an upgrade?

I've used Moon Menu since 2003. Very nice GUI easily accessed via Menu Bar. Easy Very informative about Moon cycles, Sunrise/set etc. Well worth the price. Regarding EarthGlobe etc. Small globe does not make for a useful app. There are widgets that do the same thing and with better graphics.

I have my machine set to San Francisco time. Yet, no matter what I try, the time on the Moon Menu drop down is 7 hours too fast. How does one fix this? I have the preferences set to local time.

There are two apps that are available that are both free and only show on the desktop when in the finder. They are Moondock and EarthGlobe. I reviewed both years ago. Because they were written exactly to Apple specs they still run flawlessly today. I am running a G5 dual 2gig Mac and have used the two of then for almost 10 years. The moon goes through it's phases and the earth follow it's pace as it goes into day and night. You can set the earth by moving it by hand or entering the coordinate where you live. If you click on either one you get a small data page giving you all the info you need. You can also set the size of the two. In all the time I have used them they have never crashed. Both are stand alone apps. So you can decide if you want them as start up items or not and use very little memory or CPU. But, the best part is both are FREE. The author also made another program called Cosmos Saver thats you on a tour of the solar system using skins from the voyager probes. That does require a small fell but the graphics are fantastic. Look I am not trying to bash MoonMenu but when there is a better alternative I must state my mind. I checked and it is still available on MUD. Sorry MoonMenu but you were out done almost 10 years ago. I just wish the author of Cosmos Saver would update it with the latest skins we have now.
