manga i've been reading this week (technically today)

I found this manga yesterday and started reading it a few hours ago and already I'm head over heels for it. What first attracted me to it was the art, it isn't often that you find manga with so much detail put into characters facial expressions. Manga is often very simplistic, which is sometimes necessary for mangaka to churn out a chapter a month (or less, I never really kept up with Bakuman) so it's really refreshing to see characters with distinctive facial features and to see their expressions change subtly the way humans do.
The story itself is pretty melancholic, it's comes off like a typical coming of age high school shoujo but the way it deals with serious themes like death, suicide and self esteem puts it in the high school drama category.
So far there are only 9 chapters out but I'm definitely going to keep it on my list of manga to keep up with, I have high hopes for Orange.

If I had to give his series a number of stars out of 5 I'd probably have to give it a 2. I started this series out by watching the first episode not knowing there was a manga and honestly this is the rare occurrence where the anime is better than the manga. The author isn't a very good story teller and even now 5 volumes in I'm not really sure what the plot is or if there's going to be an overarching story.
The manga starts out with a supernatural theme but really we don't learn about the character powers and abilities or how being half demon affects them, the whole occult part of the manga is just used as a back up and hardly ever comes up.
What the manga does have going for it is very appealing art and funny character interactions which lead to a lot more character development than what I'm used to for only 5 volumes of a series.

my mom got hitched with a guy i don't particularly like
we moved into his house with him and his daughter
I turned 18 (sex is legal aww yiss)
while I was living with my mom and her husband my life was really stressful for me, I got really really depressed and got to the point that I wanted to kill myself. Things I was stressed about:

I failed algebra 2 twice in highschool (it's necessary you pass w a D to graduate) so I almost didn't get to graduate but my nice AF teacher gave me a D even though I really deserved an F
My mom wanted me to find a job so I could start paying rent, even though I've never held a job and really had no plans to ever work ( I KNOW HOW AM I SO DUMB/LAZY)
I got rejected from the only college I applied to

I moved out of my mom's place the day of the Harry Potter premier July 14th?? idk and in with my sisters then girlfriend
I worked at a carnival in the meantime while I got a job and started going to the closest community college
I quit the carnival once school started and started dating my boss (he's 12 years older than me, making him 30)
My BF broke up with me
I got a job at a laundromat and a movie theater
I had to quit my job at the movie theater bc it conflicted with my laundromat job
I've sorta started dating the same guy again but we're not official, I want to take this as slow as possible

That's pretty much what's happened to me since I stopped posting here! On monday I'm going to the clinic with my mom again to get another assessment about my depression. I already went once a while ago ( i even made a post about it) but nothing ever came of it; I really do need help. Wanting to kill yourself and hurting yourself when you're upset/stressed out it NOT OK, if any of my LJ friends ever feel this way just give me a holler at kristina.hash on skype and we can talk about our feelings and shit <3

WELP I'M DONE 4 NOW. If you guys have any questions about all the crap I've been through go ahead, I want to start using this blog again :)

Today I had an odd moment where I re-evaluated what I was, or some other deep shit like that.

Like most Americans, or people that like bright lights and loud sounds, I went to a park today to watch the 4th of july celebration. All was going well but at the grand finale I almost had a panic attack. At first I felt super silly for freaking out over something that seemed so animalistic but then I realized that I AM an animal and it's only natural for me to feel afraid over something like that.

After realizing this I felt so strange, this is what it must feel like to open up your chakras or something because all of a sudden I felt like a different person. It's like I see myself in a different light, all my life I failed to see myself as what I really am. Before it's like I held myself up above other animals because I'm on the 'top of the food chain' but these fireworks were a pretty rude awakening, there were dogs at the park that didn't even freak out.

So much for being on top hah

I made a tumblr because I wanted to make fandom buddies but it's so much easier to make friends on here with stuff like friending meme's than on tumblr so I've come crawling back to you like a pathetic ex :( <3

For the yearbook's senior superlative's I was nominated as 'Most likely to be seen at ComiCon'. On wednesday we take our pictures for our yearbook (we don't find out if we won until the yearbook is released OH JOY) IDK what props to bring or how to pose tho. I'm thinking of wearing my gryffindor scar, and maybe bringing a comic book and my ps3 controller BUT IDK. I know one of the other girls that also got nominated it bringing a lightsaber and Darth Vader's helmet WTF how do I compete with that? lol

TL;DR please give me suggestions on how to pose/what to bring!!!!

New Years resolutions:
- clean my room once a week

LOOK AT THIS CRAPPY PIECE OF FANART THAT TOOK MORE THAN 5 MINUTES TO MAKE.

So I was going to make a quick little doodle to show my flist the tablet I got for Christmas (wacom, bamboo, touch & pen etc.) but this ended up taking me waaaaaay longer than I'm willing to admit. If you follow me on twitter you've probably heard this a million times since I won't shut up about it but drawing on a tablet is different to drawing on a paper. I swear to god I don't suck as much on paper.

Anyway, what did you guys get for christmas? I've noticed a lack of gift posts on my flist and I think it's because you guys don't want to show off. C'MOOOOOOON just do it.

This is a watercolor painting I did of my brother dressed as the prince from katamari. He really isn't this girly looking he just has long hair and I'm terrible at drawing. I feel pretty cheap for giving him a hand made gift since last week he told me that if he gets the itouch 4 for christmas (which he most likely will) I'll get his old ipod that he got for christmas last year. That's kind of an awesome gift haha (let's ignore the fact that I'm getting my 12 year old brother's hand me downs -__-)

Also! I gave myself a haircut 2 days ago! I was going for the Tao Okamoto look but I don't think I pull it off as well. I'm still giving myself time to think about this hair and if I don't like it by the end of next week I'm cutting it shorter.

Hello all, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent positive vibes for my hamster. She died 2 days ago, as was expected. I couldn't help but feel disappointed because I had convinced myself that she was looking good and that she would somehow get better. All your nice comments really did help me feel better.

The movie was amazing, it was one of the most accurate to the books. I know a lot of people disliked it but I'm pretty sure it's for that exact reasons. I don't really want to talk about it much since I made a phat post about DH when I first read the book so I'll make this samll and movie related :)

- I love Emma Watson. But I've never deluded myself that she was great at acting, pretty much everyone know's she's the weakest of the trio. Well, she was great in this movie, she did so much better than usual and it just made me so proud :')
- adfhkl;lkjh the part where Ron removes gryffindor's sword from the frozen lake is exactly how I pictures it in my mind. It was so perfect ide

-The Kreacher and Dobby looked different somehow, not in a bad way but they definitely looked different from Chamber of secrets and Order of the Phoenix.

asdfgjkl;lkjh 13 hours until it's time. I cannot even describe how excited I am for this movie, I'm happy I'm getting to see one of my favorite books turned into a movie but I'm especially happy my mother is actually letting me go to see it. It seems a little crazy that my mom is letting me be out of the house after midnight to see a movie on a school night.

I have a doctor's appointment on the 30th to get tested for depression. I'm pretty sure I am depressed but I know I have to go and get tested and see what I can do to help myself. I'm starting college soon (hopefully!) and the way my life is right now these feelings of extreme apathy are interfering with my school and social life. I'm super happy to be going to the doctor but most of all I'm happy that my mom listened to be when I told her that I thought I was depressed and actually called the doctor. I know with a lot of Latino families there is a lot of ignorance when it comes to psychological problems like these and they are often ignored or even ridiculed, which I was pleasantest surprised when my mom just accepted it. Just typing this is making me emotional, for such a long time I knew there was something wrong that was holding me back from being the best that I can but I was afraid to admit to my self that there was something wrong with me as a person.

Sorry to add more to this heavy post but I discovered our hamster has wet tail today (the hamster version of dysentery) and most websites say that she won't survive. Please send her some positive energy :)

For those that are curious this is my homecoming dress, which is also a dress I wore to a wedding last year. Please excuse the packet of pads and the dirty mirror.

My nails, which are supposed to be cheetah print but look nothing like it. (I still like them tho) Also, I just realized I cannot practice guitar with these nails. That means about 2 weeks of no practice :'(

And just because, my new MAC venomous villains limited edition lipstick in 'heartless' It's so perfect I want to wear it forever ;3;

HOMECOMING WEEK

I have somehow managed to make my homecoming week 10x more stressful than it needs to be by getting a traffic ticket. A $181 traffic ticket for neglecting to wear a helmet while I rode my bike to school.

LET ME TELL YOU HOW I'M SAVING MONEY.
-I'm wearing a dress that I already had from a wedding I went to last year
-I'm wearing a pair of my mother's heels (I doubt they'll be on my feet for that long tbh)
-I got my eyebrows threaded for $2
-I got my nails did for $20
-The lady that did my nails has two sons and practically begged me to let her do my makeup for homecoming FO' FREE

I got the hookups for this homecoming. I'm almost glad I got that ticket because otherwise I would have paid so much more.

I'll post pictures of my dress/nails if anyone wants to see them :)

Yesterday I went thrift shopping with a friend, I had a mental shopping list to buy a leather bag and a red cardigan. I found a very nice leather bag but I haven't been able to find a nice red cardigan. The VHS' were $2 each, the book (The Two Towers) was $0.50 and the bag was $10.

I plan on doing something similar to what Ms. Stephanie Brown did to her leather purses. You can see her purses here at her etsy. I really love her purses but I can't afford them so I decided to make it a sort of DIY project lol

First week of senior year

I'm finally a senior! I'm not too excited about finishing school and becoming an adult but I am excited about this year of school since it's our school's 50th anniversary. ASB has a lot of cool things planned like fireworks at our graduation and having our prom at Disneyland (possibly). Oxymorons are great.

Since school has started I've been spending a lot less time on the internet which is good because I'm focusing on my HW but sucks because I lose track of what's going on on the interwebs. Oxymorons really are cool :|

This is my class line up except for Digital Photography which doesn't have a text book. So far so good! I'm only taking classes I want to take (except for English & Government which are required) so hopefully I'm be able to stay on top with my grades and get into UCLA. Or something to that effect.

3. Last year I had a GPA of 3.0. It has steadily been going down since I entered high school. IDGAF.

I don't know if I've written about it on here or not but at the beginning of summer I was asked to act in a play called 'Godspell' that was being put on at a local community college. Well, now it's the end of summer and the play finally opened yesterday! I'll try to post a picture of what I look like with stage makeup on because I look hilarious. Like in a 12 year old putting makeup on for the fist time, kind of way.

Also! I got a new phone, it's the blackberry curve. My background is the outer senshi and my ringtone is their transformation music lol

I saw Scott Pilgrim vs. the world today and it was AWESOME. I really feel like it lived up to the comic book and that they did't leave too much out. I kind of like that they moved some stuff around so that they could fit everything into the movie. And the girl that played Knives was amazing and she really pulled off being a clingy, obsessive stalker well lol

Even if you haven't read the comic you should still see the movie and then get on reading the comic because it rules. Pretend this wasn't a horrible recommendation and just read the comic/watch the movie.
