You may or may not have noticed/heard about it, but delicious has changed owners and the new owners have decided to "improve" the experience. Well, so far they've failed spectacularly. Our archive is still there, but some of the tags are broken now,(namely the !prompt:filled, !prompt:unfilled ones - because of the !) plus searching the new delicious is extremely tedious if not impossible (as I'm not sure if one can even get to the older bookmarks).

I really *really* hope they fix this mess, but for now I've managed to salvage our archive by importing the bookmarks to a new diigo account.

It's not as good as the old delicious account, in my opinion, and I've heard that diigo has a limit on how many bookmarks one user can have, so I hope it's just a temporary thing until the delicious people get their act together.

I don't know if it's necessary to make an announcement for this, or just quietly put up a link to the backup archive.

Anyway, that's all from your grumpy archiver. I want my old delicious back...

In case you haven't seen yet - I (0mega19x), got the versus meme up and running this morning. Yeah, it's a day early, but when I thought up the tagline this morning, I couldn't help but run with it. That, and I'm traveling tomorrow, so I might not be in front of a computer long enough to do what I promised I would do.

I'll be out for the entire holiday weekend, so if someone can give me a hand pimping the meme in various communities and monitoring the first bunch of comments, I'd really appreciate it!

Let's blow everyone away with a good comeback!

Hiya! Anat here, I went ahead and looked through all the prompts we got, some of them overlapped so I combined them, but here's what was done this year so far and my thoughts on how to space out the ones that we collected:

Jan 2011: one sentence meme
Feb 2011: artiste meme

Aug 2011: no meme, mod changes
Sept 2011: Versus prompt
Oct 2011: ~~First OR last sentence of fic; Use one of the sentence fills from the previous meme as a prompt~~ Use the sentence prompt anywhere in your fic
Nov 2011: What if? Meme Divergence fic from some point in canonverse: What if ____ happened? What if ____ never happened?
Dec 2011: Holiday themed meme When the holiday season comes up, we need a holiday meme. Not just for the timely ones, but as in all prompts must have a holiday of some kind in them - i.e. Tobi turns Zetsu into a Christmas tree. Gai goes on a pinching spree on Saint Patrick's Day and Kakashi's ANBU uniform isn't green. or This year, the Gokage decided, part of the Chunin Exam would be an Easter egg hunt.
Jan 2012: New Year’s resolution meme
Feb 2012: Kink Meme, Character and 1-5 prompts words; writers can use one or more of the prompts and increase their challenge of difficulty
March 2012: any AU, including high school, real world, and/or -Punk Genres

Nov 2012: TV tropes meme
Dec 2012: "reverse-prompt" meme? Instead of the prompter requesting fics, the writer (or writers) would request ideas based around a certain theme/ficverse/AU/etc...

Then there's one of mine that I didn't add in: unfilled prompts from the previous months and have one month's challenge be to get those unfilled prompts filled? What do you think of this order? Anything you want to switch around is fine with me!

OKAY. XD So you both said, "Whatever the other two of you want to do, :D" which is also basically what I said.

Anyway, I figure it'd be most involving to each take a task each month; we can either rotate however everyone sees fit, and you don't need to do necessarily rotate through every job or anything. Or we can just choose a job we like, whatever. XP The way I see it, there are really three jobs, which is convenient for us.

1) Post the meme.
--Decide meme theme (can be done as group, of course; I generally just choose one of the suggestions from our lovely members).
--Make the post (I just alter the previous month's post appropriately).
--Advertise meme to relevant Naruto communities.

2) Moderate the meme.
--Push-pin the meme and make sure all the prompts and fills coming in are kosher. Break up any wank/what not (this is unlikely to happen, though).

3) Archive the meme.
--Self-explanatory??

I uh, usually skip #3. >.> But it really SHOULD be done. As for archiving, I've had some volunteers do it after the fact, but I think it'd be really nice if we had it so that we had a running list as the meme went on (http://community.livejournal.com/hoodie_time/119369.html).

If we did that, however, the archivist would also need to keep up with the meme as it went--or #2 and #3 or work something out.

Other things, other things... August seems to be selling itself as a kink meme month, but other than that we can pick whatever.
