Describe your personality:
I took some tests and got…Quiet Loner Soul, Lawful Neutral and ISTP. If I had to sort myself into a stereotype, I would pick Dandere although —to be more accurate— with “shy” being replaced by reserved, and “cute and sweet” by cheerful.

For the most part, I have a quite passive and quiet personality; I usually don’t take the initiative unless I’m pressured by myself or have one of my impulsive moments. I’m not a doormat, though, and very well able to say no; if I don’t want to do something, I can be very persistent. Often, many things go through my head but I end up saying and doing nothing because I’m not really great at talking and translating thoughts into words or I mumble them over too long and miss the chance. Although I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve, I don’t think I am hard to read. If you look closely. It’s just that sometimes my expression doesn’t match what I’m actually thinking/feeling at the moment – when I’m enthusiastic, for example, I possibly still wear my default expression which, according to some people, resembles a sad/serious one.

In public settings and around mere acquaintances, I tend to be more soft-spoken, private and reserved. I don’t go out actively seeking conversation but I try to be nice whenever someone talks to me. Among people I have known for years and around friends I’m less cautious with my words/actions, louder and more animated in general. Still, I keep many things to myself and don’t always disclose my true opinion on matters if I think it could offend someone/doesn’t concern you at all…but in contrast, I’m very honest about other matters. I bottle things up, shrugh stupid remarks off or ignore them while in reality I’m offended or angry, but in more private settings it’s likelier that I snap and become extremely emotional/temperamental. And I can be very unforgiving but it’s not like I’ll let you know “Hey, every time we meet I’ll think of that stupid remark you made about me and I’ll never ever forget about it.”

Hm, what else? I rarely break rules. I’m a follow-the-book person. I’m not exactly the ideal friend as I’m prone to neglect people. I can be somewhat bossy but only around certain people and…yeah.

What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? I wouldn’t even try projecting myself as a different person unless my mentor came up with a good idea which persona I should display for the games. How I usually come across, namely unfriendly/shy/grumpy/quiet/inconspicuous, wouldn’t earn me a lot of sponsors although the other tributes would probably underestimate me and not take me very seriously at first which is just fine with me but– hm, I don’t know, maybe I would do it like Katniss and not really be anything during the interviews and before the games.

Positive traits: I have a sense of humour. I can be cheerful and teasing when I’m among certain people. I’m conscientious and responsible when I’m interested in something. I can be very persistent despite my usual passive attitude and I can resist peer pressure. Does that count? |D I have a sense of justice and I try to treat everyone fairly. I’m more empathetic than I would like to think but– I rarely show it.

Negative traits: I’m overly untalkative and a bit socially awkward, thus coming across as either shy or unfriendly. I forget to smile, I get nervous during public speaking, most of the time I have no idea what to talk about with strangers etc. Things like that. But I’m trying to improve. I’m insecure and self-conscious in many situations and I’m easily discouraged by failure. I take almost every glare and off-hand joke personally + hold grudges for a long time which is a great combination. I’m irritable and have quite a temper that sometimes shows. Other negative traits are: being partly avoidant, hesitancy, indecision, and worrying a lot about worst-case scenarios.

Likes: Cats, almost all kinds of music, anime, bicycling, crafting, reading a book in the garden, playing piano, taking walks.
Dislikes: Gender roles, stereotyping, discos, failure, being ignorant, being pressured into doing something, unreasonable arguments, being contradicted, when people talk about me.

Best quality: I don’t think I have one. And no, I’m not modest.
Worst quality: My introverted and quiet nature. It would benefit me more if I could at least act outgoing and sociable.
What do you value most?: ~~Money?~~ Independence, fairness and equality in a certain sense are also things I value.

Optimistic or Pessimistic: A mix? I honestly don’t know anymore. Generally, I try to view things realistically but depending my mood I can lean towards optimistic or pessimistic.
Reserved or Outgoing: Reserved. But. I like company (once in a while) even if I don’t interact much with them.
Trusting or Cynical: In-between. I’m mostly mistrustful.
Impulsive or Cautious: Cautious. I usually think before I act but that doesn’t mean that the result is always well thought-out and logical.

Stoic or Openly Emotional: In-between. I tend to be openly emotional around people I have known for years but in public etc. I’m able to put up a sort of stoic façade.
Selfish or Selfless: In-between, probably more selfish. I can make compromises but I don’t like doing things that don’t bring me any advantages.
Leader or Follower: Follower if I have to be but otherwise “loner” because– less responsibility and stress.
Calm or Temperamental: Outwardly calm but I have quite a temper that sometimes shows.

SITUATIONAL
A close friend/relative of yours has been selected for the Hunger Games! How would you react?
Shocked and incredulous. Uh, I can’t think of anything else. But I would also feel relieved because I wasn’t drawn in the reaping…

You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do?
I would end up doing nothing and just ignore them. I’m quite hesitant about dangerous situations —because you could get caught by Peacemakers helping a fugitive— so after contemplating to indirectly help them by leaving some food or useful tools behind, I would probably end up doing nothing.

How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? I think these kind of questions are very hard to answer when I’m sitting comfortably in front of my computer and typing happily away.

It’s your first day in The Hunger Games and everyone is gathered at the Cornucopia. You spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there’s going to be a bloodbath. What do you do?
Run away, not grab the weapon. I would have to make do with something else that I pick up along my way. Wouldn’t want to die on the first day.

What would your weapon of choice be?
A magic staff? Haha, I don’t know. Maybe I was already trained with a weapon if I were in the books.

A fellow tribute has approached you asking for friendship, what would be your first reaction?
Um, no? Unless I can know with a likeliness of 99% that I can trust them not to suddenly turn on me, I would not become allies with them, let alone friends. I would just hope refusing them doesn’t result in an unfavourable situation for me — “Oh my god, you don’t want to be allies. Imma kill you!!”

You’re hiding up a tree when you spot the Career Pack coming and they’re below you, although they seem to not notice you yet. What would you do?
Hold my breath and lie low, wait until they are gone and nervously make up a plan on how to best escape in case they saw me. Ideally, I would possess some sort of weapon or could make use of my surroundings to overcome and eliminate them. I mean, it’s the Career Pack. Everyone would thank for me for taking them out. (And I realize I’m playing exactly according to the Capitol’s rules here…)

You’re starting to get thirsty and you suspect that there won’t be another water source up ahead. You have no choice but to head back to the first lake you’re spotted. Would you risk being spotted by other tributes to go back?
If I felt that I would certainly die if I trudged along any longer, I would risk being seen by other tributes and head back to the lake.

Your stomach has been empty for quite some time now and you’re starting to feel tired from the lack of food. You spot some berries nearby but they look foreign to you. What do you do?
Not eat them. It would be really lame if I died because a handful of berries and I don’t think they could satisfy my, uh, hunger anyway.

You’ve won the games! What do you think led you to your victory?
Everyone totally underestimated me, I had tons of luck and/or some useful skills.

What’s the most important thing for you when you’re in the Games?
Survive to win food packages and other goods for my district. :'D

THE BOOKS
Have you read The Hunger Games? If so, did you enjoy it? Yes and… yes? I didn’t like some parts in Mockingjay but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
What was your favorite part? I like the scenes between Rue and Katniss, the part where Katniss sings “The Hanging Tree” and the two scenes where the people do the District 12 respect sign.
Who was your LEAST favorite character? Romulus Thread. At least I found President Snow and President Coin somewhat amusing in various instances.
Anyone you prefer not to get? (Please limit this to 2 characters and give valid reasons why you’re not like them) Gale Hawthorne? He is such a harsh person in many respects and a lot more serious than I am.

Describe your personality/List your positive and negative traits: Describing myself always makes me feel uncomfortable but... Well, as far as personality types go I am an INTJ, a mix of The Analytical & The Independent Thinker, Type 1, and a Scorpio. My alignment is True Neutral, I also got Quiet Loner Soul in daemon test but I can't exactly agree due to it being too passive for me. However I think Distant Loner Soul is almost spot on, though I'm not as insensitive or arrogant as the descriptions makes it to be. I am someone very distant, secretive, serious and introverted. A quiet loner but I have strong opinions and am not afraid to voice them, I just don't like useless talk. I am also not the type who will force my own opinions onto you because even if i don't agree with you, i most of them time will respect your opinion, especially if you're my friend... even if i know i am right. I am rather anti-social and i dislike talking about myself, so yes, i keep to myself most of the time but i'm not withdraw. I am quite cynical and I don't trust people most of the time. Thanks to being a cynic, i have a cold outlook on a lot of things which makes people describe me as such but there are also those who say i have a somewhat strong sense of justice. As for myself, I think my views are simply very rational and i myself am not as cold as people think, just not too emotional and someone who follows her brains rather than her heart. I'm also pretty critical, logical, easily annoyed, honest, stubborn, rational, loyal, practical, firm, reliable. I am someone who is quite collected and calm most of the time but my friends often like to remind me of my berserk button. It's easy to annoy me, but it's hard to make me angry (unless you really annoy me by default) but once you do... Even though, i am not reckless nor impulsive. I am very cautious about most of the things. I am bad with words when it comes to certain matters (especially feelings) so i often tend to say harsh things and unfortunately it's not on impulse. I have been told I am good with arguments, not to be bold (though that's nothing to be proud about anyways) but it's also pretty easy for me to manipulate others... I guess you could describe me as quite manipulative if someone deserved it. Lastly, I am somewhat apathetic about most thing things but I can be quite passionate if i really care about something. I don't get too attached to people usually but if i really care about someone, they become very important to me and I'd always put them before myself even if I don't show it.
Positive Traits: Independent, helpful to friends, strong-willed, honest, understanding, logical, thoughtful, cunning, somewhat determined (but not over anything and everything), patient, reliable, rational, realistic, collected, mature, good listener, observant.
Negative Traits: Analytical, introverted, mischievious, perfectionist, private, sarcastic, smartass when annoyed, curious, cautious, proud, easily annoyed, stubborn, serious, sometimes moody, short-tempered, anti-social, calm with a berserk button. Recently I have been told I sometimes can get too strict when people are not disciplined.
Likes: Quite a few but they're meaningless so I can't see how they'd help here.
Dislikes: Mostly I dislike overly selfish, stupid, idiotic, fake, ignorant, shallow, annoying, clingy, way too talkative people. Also posers... and those who accuse others of something while they should look at themselves first. Well, pretty much all the nonsense people can come up with. Don't get me wrong, i am a pretty understanding person but when it comes to people acting different just to be seen as cooler or whatever, my understanding drops to 0. I also tend get very easily irritated when someone is far too impulsive and doesn't think before doing pretty much everything. I also dislike insects quite a lot, heights, not tasty food, when you push me into doing something I don't want to do, talk down on me, attack me for no reason etc. I surely dislike a lot of things otl.

If you were a heroine in a story, how would you be like?: Pretty much the same as I am now. I can't imagine myself acting differently and possess some opposite traits. Besides, what would be the purpose of this theme if I acted differently?
Do you consider romance/love an important part of your life?: No, I don't.
How do you handle your relationships with others?: It depends on the person and my experience with them, really. I tend not to bother with these I don't care about and it's hard for me to get close to someone due to my untrusting nature. Even with those who are close to me I tend to be quite distant and secretive but I am loyal and I try to be supportive. However it doesn't always work irl, due to my reserved and cold behavior, especially when it comes to emotions.
What are some important things you have learned in your life so far?: Everything. Everything I know I have learnt myself and everything is equally important to me. If I had to pick something... maybe I'll mention something I'm learning right now. You really need to keep going, even if everything seems hopeless for god knows how long. I have always had confidence and determination but deep down, i stopped believing in myself because I let events from the past trouble me way too much. Keep going doesn't mean leaving everything behind and forgetting of what held you back. It means overcoming it or learning how to live with it while trying hard to move forward. After all it's all experience that made you into who you are so it's not worth going through all that just to give up in the end, is it? So I am trying to move forward along with everything.
How would you fare in a life/death situation?: I'm always calm and focused so I'd keep that up and try not to panic even if the situation was getting rough. Depending on what situation it would be, I would take certain actions. I could go on and on with explaining all the possibilities I can come up with but in short; while I don't like running away from a fight, I am not reckless to throw my life for something that might be meaningless. Meaning, I wouldn't mind fighting or running away, it all depends what chances I had. (Unless it would mean dying for something I believe is worth dying but I suppose that's not the point here).
Who is your favourite character in The Hunger Games and why?: Peeta, definitely. While I have a few more characters I like a lot, Peeta is the one I just couldn't stop liking, even if i wish he took different actions and wasn't so forgiving towards Katniss. He is kind, brave, strong but somewhat sensitive. Talented, determined, honest, responsible, understanding... my bias can go on. In short, I just like how kind he is but isn't naive, he can be pretty independent and intelligent. I find it rather unique.
If you were to live in The Hunger Games, which district would be best suited for you and why?: I am not sure, honestly. A lot of districts specialize in things I couldn't care less about. I like the feel in 12, in a way that it seems more obsecure and quiet than most of the other districts but the living there is hard and people barely have enough money to even feed their families which isn't something a person should strive for. So I suppose I will go with 3. While I don't know/remember much about it, I love electronics so I think I might find it enjoyable to live there? It's also not one of the career districts, since I can't imagine myself being a career.

Some changes & a new theme

Hi again everyone. I've been thinking about the community, and first, there's some protocol cleanup I'd like to do after reopening. From now on, you only have to vote on five unstamped applications before submitting yours, instead of all unstamped. This will prevent things from getting out of hand with voting and just make it easier in general, so I'm sure you aren't sad to see it changed. I edited the app in the posts I could access, but just remember this applies for the Book Theme, as well. I might repost the theme sometime in the future.

Themes will be posted around every other week, in order to get some more constant activity; expect to seem them around the 1st of the month and around the 15th. For themes beyond the basic ones, I'm thinking we could have personality versions of each, then mirror versions. I'll post up a poll in a couple weeks' time to decide on future themes, but we're going to stick with the basic ones (matchmaker & mirror) for our next couple.

Which brings me to the theme part of my post... our next theme will be Matchmaker! (I know I mentioned Mirror last time, but I ended up getting this theme ready first, so I hope you don't mind.) Any character in the series is up for grabs. Tag your posts with !needs votes.

Describe your personality: I kind of have a skewed perception of myself, haha. I tend to only see the "bad" aspects of my personality, the parts that I need to work on. Maybe it's because whenever those are pointed out to me I tend to dwell on them, but when the "good" side is pointed out to me I tend to deny it. I'm one of those who can't take compliments, haha. But let's see... I try to be a good friend. I'm extremely loyal and empathetic, and once you're my friend I really consider you to be a friend for life. I'd do anything to help out my friends and protect them, no matter what. I often put aside my own needs to help others because I just can't NOT help someone, haha. I'm also pretty smart (although I have my moments) and creative. I can also be a bit strong-willed (stubborn is more like it) although I'm very open-minded as well.
On the flip side, I AM pretty stubborn and I don't like being told what to do. If I want to do something, I want it to be on MY terms because I wanted to do it, not because someone told me to. I also tend to get really sarcastic. And sometimes I can get really crabby, especially when I'm tired or hungry. Yeah, I'm definitely crabby when I'm hungry. I'm super indecisive, and part of this is because I get torn from wanting EVERYONE to be happy to simply not caring much one way or the other.
What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? I think I would probably pull a Johanna Mason and let everyone think that I wasn't a strong player so they wouldn't target me first, and then sneak up on them and BAM. Win the games.

If I had someone like Prim, I could see myself stepping forward and volunteering in their place. But if they were equally qualified as I was, or maybe a more distant friend or relative? Then tbh, I probably wouldn't volunteer for them but I would do everything I could to help them out back at home.
You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do? Find out what they're running from, and help them if I could. I would definitely give them some food or shelter, at least.
How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? I don't think I could kill my best friend. I don't think I could directly kill anybody, to be honest. I think I might be able to to something like set tracker jackers on them or other kinds of traps, but I don't know if I could hurl a knife into someone's chest or anything like that.

How would you picture the place you live in?: It doesn't have to be big. Mostly I just want to be able to escape noise. You know, live in peace… I don't mind if there are people around me, but I don't want to be living on top of other people. I just want nature, and my own 4 walls. Everything else is extra.
What climate would it have?: Warm, but cool enough in the winter to bundle up a bit. Just… not too much snow. I don't do well below like… 50 degrees for prolonged periods of time, lol.
On a scale of 10, how willing and capable are you of doing hard labour?: Like about a 5? I'm out of shape, but I could get into better shape if I did it all the time. I actually do prefer working with my hands (Hello, artist), so yeah!
What is one thing the place you live in must have?: It needs to be near the coast. When I'm all stressed out and just in general having a bad time, short of contact with the ones I love, nothing sets me right like being able to look out onto the horizon and just take in the peacefulness of the expansive sealing.
Do you prefer nature or the city?: Every now and then I like to jump in somewhere exciting and see what's going on, but for the most part, I guess I prefer nature. Being able to live in tranquility while not being that far from resources and adventures would be nice.

Hello everyone, your mod Silver here! If you've been following this community the entire time, you may have witnessed some confusion as to whether the community was closing or remaining open. A couple mods abruptly quit LJ and posted that the community was closed when they did, against our knowledge, but we've decided to keep it open. (After all, after finally finishing Mockingjay and loving it, how could I not want to keep this going, lolol.) Your new mod team consists of pinkified and me, silvertigerx.

For the reopening, I've remade the stamps for the Regular Theme; feel free to take a new stamp, or take a restamp. If you've been stamped as a character that doesn't already have a stamp, you can request one. I'll also make stamps for characters not already included as people get stamped as them. In addition, previous themes are open; check the theme tag to apply for those (book & location, currently).

Activity on this community obviously needs some work, but hopefully that can be fixed with a little advertising. Even then, activity may be slow/delayed/not constant for most of the month, but if we can get out a theme every so often (say, once or twice a month?), then would you still be interested?

If you have any ideas for future themes, it would be much appreciated if you could leave them here. The next theme will likely be Mirror, but if you have preferences for future themes, please comment with them here as it would be quite helpful. I might also make a poll in the future.

Describe your personality: Describing myself always makes me feel uncomfortable but... Well, as far as personality types go I am an INTJ, a mix of The Analytical & The Independent Thinker, Type 1, and a Scorpio. I am someone very distant, secretive, serious and introverted. A quiet loner but I have also heard people saying I have strong opinions, however I voice my opinions usually only when it's needed or I discuss something. I am also not the type who will force my own opinions onto you because even if i don't agree with you, i most of them time will respect your opinion, especially if you're my friend even if i know i am right. I am rather anti-social and i dislike talking about myself most of the time, so yes, i keep to myself most of the time. I am quite cynical and I don't trust people most of the time. Thanks to being a cynic, i have a cold outlook on a lot of things which makes people describe me as such but there are also those who say i have a somewhat strong sense of justice. As for myself, I think my views are simply very rational and i myself aren't as cold as people think, just not too emotional and someone who follows her brains rather than her heart. I'm also pretty critical, logical, easily annoyed, honest, stubborn, rational, loyal, practical, firm, reliable. I am someone who is quite collected and calm most of the time but my friends often like to remind me of my berserk button. It's easy to annoy me, but it's hard to make me angry (unless you really annoy me by default, lol) but once you do... Even though, i am not reckless nor impulsive. I am cautious about most of the things. What I say, what I do, how I do it etc. I almost always think twice before saying anything to make sure I don't make someone feel uncomfortable or not to hurt them/make them upset, unless that's my intention which it often is if you anger or bash me. I am bad with words when it comes to certain matters (especially feelings) so i often tend to say harsh and unfortunately it's not on impusle. I have been told I am good with arguments if i want to, not to be bold (though that's nothing to be proud about anyways) but it's also pretty easy for me to manipulate others... I guess you could describe me as a bit manipulative. Lastly, I am somewhat apathetic about most thing things but I can be quite passionate if i really care about something. I don't get too attached to people usually but if i really care about someone, they become very important to me and I'd always put them before myself even if I don't show it.
What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? That's a tough one. I definitely wouldn't be able to just ~be myself~ because I look confident and capable. People often tell me I look intimidating... I believe it would make the other tributes notice me and probably view as a threat, even if that could earn me some sponsors. I simply don't want to make any enemies, I believe the games are going to be hard enough without having people run after you, and being ignored in the arena can be only a bliss. While I have a few ideas, it would all depend on who my opponents were. Once I see them, I'd get an idea of what they are like and then I can think of a fitting tactics, taking into account they might be putting up a different front, as well.
Positive traits: Independent, helpful to friends, strong-willed, honest, understanding, logical, thoughtful, cunning, somewhat determined, patient, reliable, rational, realistic, collected, mature, good listener, observant.
Negative traits: Analytical, introverted, mischievious/devious, perfectionist, private, sarcastic, smartass when annoyed, curious but not overly so, cautious, proud, easily annoyed, rather stubborn but not overly so, serious, short-tempered, anti-social, calm with a berserk button. Recently I have been told I sometimes can get too strict when people are not disciplined.
Likes: Some things, I don't really feel the need of listing likes as you knowing I like rainy weather or coke won't really matter.
Dislikes: Mostly I dislike overly selfish, stupid, idiotic, fake, ignorant, shallow, annoying, clingy, way too talkative people. Also posers... and those who accuse others of something while they should look at themselves first. Well, pretty much all the nonsense people can come up with. Don't get me wrong, i am a pretty understanding person but when it comes to people acting different just to be seen as cooler or whatever, my understanding drops to 0. I also tend get very easily irritated when someone is far too impulsive and doesn't think before doing pretty much everything. I also dislike insects quite a lot, heights, not tasty food, when you push me into doing something I don't want to do, talk down on me, attack me for no reason etc.
Best quality: I'm not sure... probably the fact that I am a rational, realistic and logical thinker? While sometimes depending on your emotions is better, I tend to follow my brains rather than emotions and I like it this way.
Worst quality: I could think of a few things, honestly. My first thought was my pride. Secondly, I am a perfectionist, a perfectionist to the point where I can't give it my all when I know I can't do it the exact way I want to. It can discourage me and make me much less confident, as well as make me more likely to procrastinate but I try. I do know more than well that you have to try a few times before you get what you want but...
What do you value most?: I'm not sure as I think answering this question would take me some time. There are quite a few things I value but to pick something I value enough to put here... Maybe intelligence and knowledge?

A close friend/relative of yours has been selected for the Hunger Games! How would you react? I'd... probably just feel a little shocked. A little because I am a bit pessimistic when it comes to my "luck" so I would have probably expected it in one way or the other. I'd volunteer if I cared about them.
You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do? I'd probably ignore them and do my own thing. I am not going to risk my life for someone I don't know. If I could just throw my life away like this, I would have done it ages ago.
How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? I would be willing enough to kill someone not to get killed by them instead. I wouldn't be running around looking for a prey just to kill as many as possible but if there is someone near me and I have a chance, I'd most likely go for it, making sure no one else is around beforehand. I have no time for regrets in the arena. As for my best friend, I wouldn't kill them unless they had no hesitations with killing me, I guess. I'd be willing to sacrifice myself in the games if it was my best friend since believe me, I wouldn't call just anyone a best friend. However, if they were okay with killing me with no second thought then I am not going to end up as a fool. That would mean I was wrong with calling this person my best friend and that would mean I shouldn't hold back. Not when my life is on the line.
It's your first day in The Hunger Games and everyone is gathered at the Cornucopia. You spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there's going to be a bloodbath. What do you do? I'd pass. Even if I thought i might have a chance, I am not risking anything this early. I would try to look around for any weapon that would mean avoiding the bloodbath (though i doubt anyone would be stupid enough not to go for such weapon...) since having any weapon would make me feel more confident but if this can't be helped, I'd just back down and depend even more on my brains and speed.
What would your weapon of choice be? I don't really have preferences as long as I would know how to wield it? I think swords and knives would fit me most (though I wonder if swords would be comfortable in the arena) but I would try to manage with anything. It's survival we're talking about.

You're hiding up a tree when you spot the Career Pack coming and they're below you, although they seem to not notice you yet. What would you do? Wait. Quietly and patiently. There is no real way out so my only hope is that they won't notice me. I mean one wrong move or idea and it might be the end.

I'm cautious so I would prefer not to risk it. Besides, me suspecting isn't the same as me knowing there won't be any water and I would hate myself if I risked it without being sure. I would probably try to search some more instead and if I won't find anything, I would tell my sponsors to get me some drink or I am going to hang myself. I am sure they do not want that. Of course, if all of this fails me I would go back even if the level of my dehydration was impossible to stand. I have to show those sponsors I don't need to be dependent on them , after all and proving people wrong is one of my favourite things so I am not giving up.

Even if I hadn't read the book, I would never eat some random berries. In fact, I would never eat anything that looks foreign to me. Describe your personality:
I feel like I'm a contradiction, and a lot of it stems from how I'm too idealistic for my own good. I tend to idealize many things, even if my logical side tells me I'm being unrealistic, and then - as expected even to me by this point - I end up disappointed ultimately. On a wider scale, there's the way I think the world should be, and the way the world actually is... It makes me concerned about many topics the majority seems apathetic towards, but also quite bitter and often disappointed. I'll help people willingly, but at the same time I can't stand most people. To make this make even less sense, I have rather nihilistic views objectively, so I should think none of this matters... and while it doesn't ultimately, that doesn't stop me from wishing the world was better, as completely relative as "better" is. /rambles

I can be too outspoken, argumentative, and blunt. While I can plan things out ~~usually... well, if they're important actions, at least~~, I need better control over my mouth. If someone says something I find particularly unsettling, I have a tendency to open it no matter who it is-- I've gotten into arguments with teachers, managers, etc... I do have a filter over it to an extent, but this has created problems in the past.

I guess you could call me rather "self-made." Much of what I know, I had to learn on my own. I've had to dig myself out of an area that seemed to have a "Abandon hope, all ye born here... unless you're one of the few sons/daughters of factory owners!" motto, and that wasn't exactly easy. I do think it has severely impacted my overall mentality and perspectives. ~~Lol, that seems like nothing in comparison to what the characters in these books go through, but I'm just copying and pasting this part from other apps, so I'm keeping it.~~

If you want my MBTI, I almost always get INTJ. Yet, I'm not the quietest introvert, can make choices based on emotion at times, and fail at following rules if I don't see the point, so there are aspects of 3/4 of those individual categories which don't fit exactly. However, the general description when all are applied as a whole fits quite well. Really, the only aspect I'd say doesn't fit is the bit about not being able to support others, although I do tend to offer solutions rather than just hug them. All of the other negatives? Spot on, sadly... (Always wanting to improve things, assuming I'm right... Note to self: Don't be such an ass.) ... and there's this popular quiz used on these, which does fit pretty well, particularly the part I highlighted.
What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? I know with job interviews, I play up humor. I'm not particularly friendly, but I can normally get people to laugh if nothing else.
Positive traits: Analytical, independent, calm-minded (read: despite anything else, I at least think rationally), clever, open-minded, "humorous"... but that can also be a negative *points below*

Negative traits: Hopelessly self-critical, secretive (in the sense that I don't like to talk about my personal life - though I will talk about other things easily enough - and I tend to do/plan things without telling others), devious, obstinate, sarcastic/mocking/mixed with a dark sense of humor in general, rather bitter... at least if you catch me on a bad day.
Likes: Video games, reading, mountain biking, hiking, and music (both playing and listening.) Ah, and tea and coffee! Never... enough... coffee...
Dislikes: More than anything? Bigots, gender generalizations, people who complain but don't do anything to change whatever they're whining about, and the feeling of failure. Other dislikes include people who keep me up until 4 in the morning when I have to get up at 7, anything with the words "Hallmark" or "Lifetime" attached to it, when people insist that some random slab of red paint is some type of artistic masterpiece with metaphoric content too awesome for me to understand when it's just a slab of red paint, M&Ms, and privileged people who think they're the most amazing people in the universe when they've never had to do anything for themselves in their lives.
Best quality: What, my amazing intellect, stunning good looks, and overall awesomeness isn't obvious through the computer screen? For shame!
Worst quality: My inability to answer questions seriously if I don't know what to say? *shot*

Help them, but be discreet about it. Maybe give them some extra supplies and a detailed description of how to navigate the area, but don't let them linger too long.

Willing enough to stay alive. Far less likely if it was my best friend, since see my answer two questions ago. I suppose we'd have to put one of us out of the other's misery eventually, as they'd just barely keep on alive like they did with Cato otherwise, but... I'd be hoping it wouldn't come to that.

Unfortunately, I'm very impatient, so I'd probably run towards it and try to grab at least the weapon or a bag. At least I'm pretty fast, so I'd just run out of the asap afterwards instead of staying to fight over everything.

~~Magic. What do you mean that's not an option?!~~ I'm not that strong, and while I'd probably try to train with daggers or spears since they can be thrown at a distance and used as short range weapons, I imagine I'd have to go back to relying on wit most of the time.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Also depends on a lot of factors. Do I have a weapon? Is there anything around me I could use to my advantage? In most cases, I'd probably just try to make sure I'm not spotted and try following them a bit to spy, to determine weaknesses and see if there's any way I can lure them into a trap nearby.

ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. I think the above descriptions quite fit me although I don't know how well I can actually motivate/inspire others. I'm open minded, outgoing and caring but I'm also lazy and procastinate a lot and I so can't take criticism well. I'm working on it. Stupid pride.

And since I definitely can't pull off the deadly threat image, I'll try to be as harmless as possible so the Careers won't notice me (and drop their guard), and as likeable and determined as possible so I can get sponsors.

Negative traits: I don't really handle criticism well, likes to start things but never finishes them, procastination, stubborn, lazy.

I probably won't volunteer if the person has a better chance of surviving than me because what would the point in that be. However, I'd volunteer in a heartbeat if it was my younger brother or sister.

You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do? Help them. Find out what's going on.

How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? I wouldn't kill my best friend. I'd rather sacrifice myself than do that. Killing people who are trying to kill me though... I'm opposed to killing but when it comes to surviving, who knows what I'd do.

It's your first day in The Hunger Games and everyone is gathered at the Cornucopia. You spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there's going to be a bloodbath. What do you do? Run and hide first. Try to get the weapon at a a better opportunity.

What would your weapon of choice be? Well, I did kyudo(Japanese archery), so I might have a better chance with a longbow as a long-ranged weapon. For short ranged, maybe a knife that I can hide. Can we use guns?

A fellow tribute has approached you asking for friendship, what would be your first reaction? I'd be VERY wary. I'd probably accept the offer if my fellow tribute wasn't an immediate threat or is genuinely asking for friendship.

You're hiding up a tree when you spot the Career Pack coming and they're below you, although they seem to not notice you yet. What would you do? Keep very very still OR throw a pebble or something in another direction so they'd go there.

You're starting to get thirsty and you suspect that there won't be another water source up ahead. You have no choice but to head back to the first lake you're spotted. Would you risk being spotted by other tributes to go back? Yes, but I'd head back cautiously. Without water, I'd be dead anyway.

Better me hungry than dying from carelessness. I'd leave the berries alone and look for food that I can actually recognize.

What's the most important thing for you when you're in the Games? My loved ones and surviving without turning into some murder entertainment machine for the Capitol. Surviving without unnecessary killings.

Well, that's kinda complicated I guess. My personality? Fuck.

I'd say I'm a blend of all sorts of things. I have this way of becoming immensely quiet and pensive, thinking about my life. On the other hand, I can be very opinionated and have no problem saying what's on my mind. The only issue is when I know I've hurt someone. I hate the idea of wounding someone and am always noticing the sadden expressions of people around me if I put my foot in my mouth.

I can be outwardly calm but stressed to the bone when working. I try my hardest in a work place though if it comes to classes, fuck it. I'm the laziest motherfucker out there. I handle most situations by sighing and trying to figure out what to do. Even if it's just to let it be.

I'm a feminist too. Just saying'.

What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? Oh jesuz. I have no idea really. I have a hard time pretending to be something I'm not. I'd be the worst at this part. I suppose I'd try to project confidence and humanity. Show the capitol I'm still a fucking human being but I'm not afraid of them.
Positive traits: Loyal, outspoken, impulsive, calm in most situations, relaxed, talkative when not tired, and sense of humor. I try to be nonjudgmental but it doesn't always work especially when reflecting on my actions. Filled with thoughts. analytic, good reader, and I try to be bold too though who knows if I actually come across that way. Independent. Gots some pride up in this hizzie too. Sense of justice too I guess. I see the complications of life and still am able to work out what's right or wrong from my perspective. I tend to get pissy when I know someone has hurt someone. Passionate.
Negative traits: Impulsive, foot in mouth disease to the max, when uncomfortable I'll go quiet or ramble. Sometimes I just emotionally check out and I don't care about anything. Cynical. Tired quite a bit of the time. I can be snappish and I have a tendency to not listen to instructions very well.

This is a hard one. I’m an OK shot, but I’ve never heard of anyone using a gun in the arena and I’m quite small so a full-sized rifle wouldn’t be practical anyway, so it would depend what I was best at in training.

YES. I burned though all of them over a 48 hour period after Mockingjay came out. I’d held off ‘til then because I’m awful at waiting (Harry Potter was AGONY).

Basically all of Catching Fire? I loved the scenes before the Quarter Quell began when we met Haymitch’s friends, and all the exchanges between Katniss and Haymitch throughout the series get my vote.

Describe your personality: To be honest, I don't think I'm particularly interesting. I like the same old routines of my life. I'm honest, caring, and empathetic when I need to be. It was interesting not only because of the new characters, but I really liked the idea of the hunger games continuing on and how it would effect Katniss and Peta since it was their second time in the arena.

Describe your personality: I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humour and I always have a witty comment to make - usually to avoid showing my true emotions. I can be blunt and opinionated, and I'm not afraid to hide it. Surprisingly I'm also a little shy and a bit girly - I love shoes!
What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games? I'm quite tall and solid, so I don't think the "I'm so innocent and weak, don't shoot me" method would work too well. I'd probably try to team up with the strongest tributes and then outsmart them.

Sitting at home in my lounge room, it's easy to say that I could kill the others. But if I was faced with that in real life...I can't say whether or not I could. I'd like to think that if it were a situation of me or the other person, I'd survive. As for a best friend...I wouldn't be able to do it unless it would be kinder for them to die rather than continue to live (if they were hijacked, badly injured etc. and I knew they were suffering too much).

On the other hand I wouldn’t exactly consider myself a rebel because I tend to have a very strong regard for rules and justice. I’m an overachiever and perfectionist and pride myself on my creativity and intelligence. I graduated with my B.A. in Humanities Summa Cum Laude (one damn A – in my entire academic career). I bring that up because I wanted to never get less than an A so I worked my ass off. I tend to get what I want, not because I’m spoiled but because I don’t ask for (or go after things) I know are unachievable. Despite all that, I’m also quite a dreamer. I love children more than anything in the world (I’ve also got a major affinity for children’s and YA lit).
I think if I had to describe myself I’d say I do what I think is right. Most of the time I believe following rules and laws is right, but if it came down to choosing what was legal and what was right I would choose what was right. What was fair. I don’t understand inequality and when people do things that aren’t nice or aren’t right I’m perpetually confused. I don’t understand how all people don’t treat each other the same way they’d want to be treated.

What kind of person would you project yourself to be for the games?
That’s so hard to say because I shy away from physical violence in all ways. I’m not afraid of a verbal or intellectual smackdown but real fighting is so not my thing so I think I’d be terrified at first. The thing is, I wouldn’t give up either. I think I’d be a fighter. I think I would have to show myself as someone who doesn’t want to fight, try and stay out of all the action (sort of like Rue did)…let everyone kill themselves off so to speak and stay out of it until absolutely necessary.

Ouch that would be hard. I’d cry. I always cry, I’m a crier. I’d also makre sure they knew they had a chance. I’m big on pep talks. I’m a talker, I love talking. I’d want to make sure they knew their every strength and that they weren’t alone.

You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do? Find out why they’re there, what they want. I think I’d be afraid to help, but I also hope that I would.

How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? I don’t think I could do it. Not on purpose. If I was protecting someone, maybe on the defense…never on offense.

It's your first day in The Hunger Games and everyone is gathered at the Cornucopia. You spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there's going to be a bloodbath. What do you do? Run. Like Haymitch said, get as far away from the bloodbath as possible.

What would your weapon of choice be? Oh gosh I hadn’t though of that at all. Anything that has a far range…nothing that required hand to hand combat.

A fellow tribute has approached you asking for friendship, what would be your first reaction? Depends on the tribute. If it was someone like Peeta or Rue I’d accept…someone like Finnick or Johanna and I’m not sure I’d trust them.

Stay as quiet as possible and try to avoid detection.

You're starting to get thirsty and you suspect that there won't be another water source up ahead. You have no choice but to head back to the first lake you're spotted. Would you risk being spotted by other tributes to go back?
Yes, I can’t handle thirst. I also know that without water I’d be dead anyway. It’s not just a risk but a necessary risk.

Your stomach has been empty for quite some time now and you're starting to feel tired from the lack of food. You spot some berries nearby but they look foreign to you. What do you do?
If I hadn’t read the book I probably wouldn’t have thought twice about eating them…now I’m not so sure. I don’t deal well with extreme hunger I tend to feel sick from it. However I think I’d rather risk hunger than death.

You've won the games! What do you think led you to your victory?
The ability to out think my opponent. I wouldn’t be the strongest or the best fighter but I think I would have been able to emotionally win over allies and out think my opponents.

What's the most important thing for you when you're in the Games?
Who I’d be coming home to.

THE BOOKS

Have you read The Hunger Games? If so, did you enjoy it? Yes and YES. I feel completely obsessed although I joined the fandom late in the game in a way. I feel the need to join every HG community on LJ because bless my husband but he doesn’t get the internet or fandom at all and I don’t think he’d be as amused about how much “in love” (in a sense anyway) I fall with my favorite literary characters. It’s just not something he’s ever experienced or gets, he barely checks his own e-mail, so I love the ability to interact with like minded fans.

What was your favorite part? The relationship between Peeta and Katniss. Not because of the romance (although I’m a sucker for that kind of stuff) but because of what it makes the reader confront…what would you do for love? What would you do to survive? Watching Peeta and Katniss’ relationship you can’t help but say “would I act like katniss?” or “would I act like peeta?” In many ways they’re foils and they force you to examine yourself and others. I also loved the character development.

Who was your LEAST favorite character? President Snow, of course.

describe your personality: i have a very dry sense of humor and tend to be really sarcastic in order to avoid being open with my emotions, but most people know that's just me and i don't really mean half the snark that comes out of my mouth. i'm also rather blunt, but out of honesty, not meanness. i tend to be mostly optimistic. i'm not very sentimental or girly, but i have my moments. i fangirl over everything like it's my job. i am naturally hyper to the point where people have told me never to drink coffee. i'm very imaginative (especially when it comes to writing) and a perfectionist. i like to have fun and laugh. i have immense curiosity for the world around me and i love to learn new things. i try to be open-minded and not judge people before i get to know them (keyword being try). i try to be as non-confrontational as possible because drama is such a waste of everything. i try not to let stuff get to me.

how willing would you be to kill if you were in the games? what if it was your best friend? i don't think i could kill people directly-- whichever strategy i come up with, it has to involve me not being in direct contact with the other tributes as i kill them. i don't think i'd be able to just kill them one on one. probably some kind of en-masse killing force like beetee was originally going to do with the lightning. also, i could never kill my best friend or someone i'm really close to. i think i'd rather kill myself than be put in that position.

it's your first day in the hunger games and everyone is gathered at the cornucopia. you spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there's going to be a bloodbath. what do you do? uhhhh, try and be as stealthy as possible? i'm pretty short and not heavy at all, i could manage to sneak past the carnage somehow.

what would your weapon of choice be? probably a longsword or a baseball bat. something i can just swing around without needing to have a good aim, 'cause i suck at that.

what was your favorite part? i loved the entirety of the third quarter quell (that arena was genius, and the escape plan even more). the development of peeta and katniss' relationship. and, for some reason, the moments where katniss, peeta and haymitch act all domestic-y and family-like in their own dysfunctional way; it's adorable.

I’m an ENFJ: “Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. When I was looking for a short description of that, I also saw something that said ENFJ’s are manipulative, but not in a malicious way, but if they genuinely believe something’s the right thing, they’ll find a way to make it happen, and that’s very much me. I’m very determined, which is a nice way of saying I’m the most stubborn person on the planet.

Also, I’m probably the quietest extrovert ever. I like people, but I’m just a pretty private person, so it takes me awhile to get completely no-holds-barred outgoing, though I’m definitely not shy.

I’d have to play up intelligence. I’m small and not athletic at all, so my best bet would be to outsmart everyone else, or at least convince sponsors I can. If it was my sister, I’d volunteer, because I definitely can’t see myself just watching her go in, and the idea of something bad happening to her when I have the ability to do something about it is terrifying to me. There are a few select friends I’d like to think I’d volunteer for. Otherwise, I’d probably freeze and feel horrible and helpless, then angry that there’s nothing I could do to fix short of dying in their place, and I’d generally be a giant ball of useless anger, at myself and everyone else that could have gone, and mainly the Capitol.

You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do?
I’d like to think I’d help them out, but I probably wouldn’t directly. I’d probably be too afraid of getting myself or my family hurt to actually help, but I wouldn’t say a word about them, would lie if asked about it, I think.

How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend?
Not willing at all. I don’t think I’d offensively do much of anything. If I was being attacked, I’d probably fight back the best I could. I’d defend myself, I could probably do indirect things like food and shelter destroying, but I’m not going to seek out kills. And never in a million years if it was someone I knew, let alone my best friend.

I’m small and I’m not a fast runner. If it was really close to me, and I wasn’t situated too near a career or anyone big, I’d maybe go for it. Otherwise, I’d just run off and worry about getting supplies later when I have a better chance of being overlooked.

I’d be awful with everything, haha. Probably knives? I know throwing them is kind of a bad plan, because then you lose your weapon, but I have decent aim and it wouldn’t require a lot of strength, and close combat would be a bad idea. And holding up a knife is at least going to discourage some people from getting too close!

A fellow tribute has approached you asking for friendship, what would be your first reaction?
Run away. I’m a deeply suspicious person, haha, so I think in a Games situation, it’d be really hard for me to believe anyone has the best intentions. And if I did agree to be allies, once I get to know someone, it doesn’t take long for me to get very loyal and protective, so I think I’d want to steer clear of it, as much as the idea of not having a single person I can trust freaks me out.

Describe your personality: I'm an INFP, which basically means I'm easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal. I'm very aware of people's feelings and such. When someone's sad, I'm usually the shoulder that they can cry on; I tend to just listen to other's feelings in that sort of situation. I'm not a nosy person and I don't push something when it's obvious someone doesn't want to talk, part of that being because I read people pretty well. I'm pretty funny at certain times, too. It's only once in a while that I act funny, but when I do it's hilarious! ~~At least I'd like to think I'm being funny...~~ I'm also a Spontaneous Idealists, so yeah...
And here are the negatives. I do not like to work. At all. I have this horrible procrastination problem and I'm known to put off very large school projects by getting on the computer or playing some video games. Sometimes I can get fairly bossy, and it annoys a bunch of my family members all the time. I can get annoyed pretty easily. Just a little slip can set me off, even if it's meant to be just a joke. And I do have moments of selfishness. I try my hardest to do nice things for others, but sometimes I just want someone to do something for me, ya know? But my biggest problem is how I always have to have approval from other people. Just a little criticism can ruin my entire day, which shows just how insecure I am... But recently I've been attempting to changing that little flaw :D

I think that Katniss and Peeta's whole love story would probably fit for me to gain support... I can also see myself projecting that sort of polite aura so that they all think I'm absolutly harmless.

How would you picture the place you live in?: A place that's clean but also has natural beauty.
What climate would it have?: Moderate or snowy.
On a scale of 10, how willing and capable are you of doing hard labour?: I've done hard labour before for a summer job. How willing I am? XD Not very, pfft XD I think like anyone if I had the choice between hard labour and being in a position of power, I'd chose the latter.
What is one thing the place you live in must have?: Natural beauty. I can't stand places that are completely concrete and dead.
Do you prefer nature or the city?: I can do both. I love horses and nature, but I also can live in the city, as long as there's some natural elements involved.

Describe your personality:I'm a 15 year old who's a daydreamer that loves the darker side of things. I'm not completely confident but at the same time not completely insecure. I have only a small group of really close friends, but I do manage to get along with most people. I'm fairly cynical and sarcastic, and to say ever since starting school again it's grown more into my personality.I'm a total smartass which I consider a great gift.People say I'm wiser than my years. I believe I've become a little more responsible and mature. But that doesn't mean I don't like having a good laugh every now and then. I'm still easygoing and very laidback and I don't get stressed out easily.

SITUATIONAL
A close friend/relative of yours has been selected for the Hunger Games! How would you react? It depends on who it is, if the friend can survive or not are they older or younger than I am, would they be capable of winning? Most likely I'd end up volunteering for them.
You find a fugitive from another District on your territory. What would you do? I wouldn't rat them out to peacekeepers, but I would at least try to find out why they're there and where they are going(if my district isn't their destination).
How willing would you be to kill if you were in the Games? What if it was your best friend? Survival is survival, it's a primal instinct that keeps us alive and unless by coincidence my best friend goes in the games with me, I'd be willing to kill.
It's your first day in The Hunger Games and everyone is gathered at the Cornucopia. You spot your weapon of choice right out in the open, but you know there's going to be a bloodbath. What do you do? First of all, I'd try my best to go as fast as I can to get it, if not grab the nearest thing hope for the best and get away quickly.
What would your weapon of choice be? Either bow and arrows or a war hammer,blades,or an axe.
A fellow tribute has approached you asking for friendship, what would be your first reaction? I'm not one to trust easily so I'd question(and possibly attack) to find out anything.
You're hiding up a tree when you spot the Career Pack coming and they're below you, although they seem to not notice you yet. What would you do? Stay in the shadows and attack if an opening approaches.
You're starting to get thirsty and you suspect that there won't be another water source up ahead. You have no choice but to head back to the first lake you're spotted. Would you risk being spotted by other tributes to go back? I'd wait until dusk to head towards the lake and keep myself on my toes at all times.
Your stomach has been empty for quite some time now and you're starting to feel tired from the lack of food. You spot some berries nearby but they look foreign to you. What do you do? I wouldn't go for them, it might mean more hunger for me but it's either hunger or my life in a couple seconds.

THE BOOKS
Have you read The Hunger Games? If so, did you enjoy it? I just finished the books a couple of days ago and I have to say one of the best reading experiences for me ever.
What was your favorite part? I'd have to say the games from both Hunger Games and Catching Fire and when they went to District 8 in Mockingjay.

How would you picture the place you live in?: Somewhere with wide open spaces and a clear blue sky. Maybe near the ocean, too. There would be a decent sized town where most people knew each other; a group of friendly, hardworking people.
What climate would it have?: It would be pretty warm, since it's by the ocean, but there would be a few months with snow as well.
On a scale of 10, how willing and capable are you of doing hard labour?: 7. I don't mind working hard, as long as I like what I'm doing, or at least the people I'm working with. I think that I would be on the less capable side of doing really hard work, at least in the beginning, but with time I would improve.
What is one thing the place you live in must have?: Definitely the people I care about. I would also like the place I live in to have some sort of beauty - whether it is nature, history or something else for me to find.
Do you prefer nature or the city?: I really prefer both, but if I had to choose, I would probably choose the city.

What is one thing the place you live in must have?: Rain! (This has a lot to do with the fact that I am currently living in a desert and greatly miss the east coast where I came from... but yeah, I love rain!)

Which location would you not wanted to be stamped as and why? (Limit to one) District 13. I don't do well underground, or in enclosed spaces, so I think thirteen would probably kill me. I'm always afraid of being crushed or trapped. Also, I hate having every moment of my life decided for me. I need freedom in my every day life and also in the air around me.
