Sometimes I wonder just how different humans are from animals.

They may have a smaller brain than ours, but they do have the same amount of compassion we hold.

Today I drove out to pick up my cousin who got lost coming over. Near where she parked her car, there was a squirrel in the middle of the road nibbling at some roadkill. I didn't know that squirrels were carnivorous. Later my cousin told me this:

"The squirrel wasn't eating roadkill, it was actually another squirrel. They were playing in the middle of the road when a car ran over one of them. The other one was trying to pull its dead friend over to the side of the road."

Yes, a squirrel actually doing that. Of course, the squirrel didn't realise its friend was actually dead but to imagine an animal capable of it...

Later we drove past again and found the other squirrel also dead, ran over barely six inches from its friend. It probably was still trying to the very end to pull its friend over to the side of the road.

Hmm... you know, I always though tampons were tampons were tampons. Though I did wonder at times why some were so long and some were small and stuff.

I picked up a pack with the applicators just to see how they looked like. My friend told me that they were longer than normal tampons and can have better absorption. I believed her since that box with 8 tampons was so long.

After forking out RM8.30 for them and opening one just to sniff around... I realised that they are the same length and a LOT more fuzzier than what I was used to. They look freaking scary! Not to mention the applicator... It looks painful to insert for some odd reason... ugh...

So I decided to write something.

So at work, my boss tells me that I have areas that I can improve. Then she throws this at me: But I am not going to tell you where it is. You have to figure it out for yourself.

So I ask her: Are you saying that I have not improved AT ALL??

She said: No, just not enough.

What I feel: I'm in a hurdle race and I have a blindfold tied around my eyes. I am told that there are five hurdles throughout the race and I am to jump over them if I am to stay in the race. Then someone comes around and moves the hurdles about.

Time for a new job? Yup.

Perhaps I chose the wrong candidates, but honestly, they give 'lying on your resume' a new meaning.

Five questions that both candidates cannot even answer. Five questions that to me are pretty basic.

I asked one of them what would happen if there were some discrepancies in their stocks? What would they do? One of the candidates said that they stock people would start fighting....

Okaaaaaaay...............

The death of sea monkeys

But she sounds better now. She called me and we chatted... a lot.

Of course, the whole cleaning my rooms thing (which I had been at it for around a week now) became quite a topic. I decided that I didn't know how to rearrange my room if I changed my furniture. So perhaps, for now, I will leave it... and save a tonne of cash.

She suggested that I put in a plant, to which I told her I will definitely kill. Just by my presence, I might clarify. I evidently exude an aura that turns all manner of fauna dead.

Then she asked me: What about your sea monkeys?

Me: Oh, they died. They fucked themselves to death.

How? Hehehehe... I used a little too much 'love powder' to start them mating and honestly, the last time I looked into the tank, three of them were clinging to each other and paddling furiously. That's only one cluster and there were a few orgies around the rest of the tank as well. Then after a few days... no more sea monkeys. Or babies either...

Imagine this: Cause of death - was fucked to death...

Oh well, at least they died enjoying themselves.

I like ghost stories, real or otherwise. I am one of those people who liked getting creeped out.

I have never felt that frisson down my spine from watching ghost stories since... well... since Ju On. And for Ju On, after the first one, you are SOOOO creeped out that you feel numb. Other things like Ring, One Last Call.... *kindly insert bored yawn*

Let's not even talk about the American versions of them.

Then I heard about this American movie called Shutter. Ghost appearing on film and thought: Wow, really good plot.

That is, until I realise that it was actually a remake of a Thai version. Then I realised that the Americans were copying horror movies again. Last night the Thai version was shown on TV.

Freaking GOOD!!! Creepy GOOD!!!

The ghost was chasing after the guy upside down. She was walking on the ceiling!!!!

Watch it! Watch it!!

Though I had trouble sleeping last night (but not much), I recommend this to EVERYONE!

Hallucinations take 2

My friend chose to tell me that when he came to The Nephew's birthday party last Sunday, he felt something was... off about my water tank. Nothing malevolent, just off...

Then he said he could be thinking too much.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr.....

If I hear anything tomorrow morning, I am going to go on an anointing spree.

This is God's servant's home. Hallucinations are not welcomed here!

Supernatural or hallucination?

I would never expect me to have such an occurence happen to actually.

So this morning, it was around seven-ish. Too early for me to be awake yet. I wake at around 7.45am. I peeked my eyes open and heard someone using the common bathroom upstairs, just outside my room. I thought my sis in law was sure up early.

So the alarm rang and I plodded to the bathroom to do my stuff. My mom walked out of her room and asked rather incredulously:

You haven't finished bathing ar?

I blearily told her: No.

Then I finished dressing and so on and went to visit The Nephew. Mom and Sis were in with him. My brother was no where to be seen. I asked Sis: Eh, where's brother?

Sis: He's the bathroom taking a shower.

Me: Har? Didn't he bath early this morning already? (I asked that seeing sis looked like she just woke up)

Mom: Yalor! I heard the water running also. Someone was taking a shower at 7 something!! I thought Mmrr was taking a shower so early!

We proceed to ask the maid who said she was vacuuming downstairs... and there was this moment of silence where we looked at each other...

Am I hallucinating? Please tell me I am.

It's been a week and the Malaysian's 12th general election is still the talk of town... well the country.

An unprecedented event for sure. Instead of taking to the streets, we have taken the PM's advice when he challenged the us, the voters to show our protest in the ballot.

We did.

The ruling party lost so badly that it will go down in history. The ruling party lost their 2/3rd majority and 5 states for the first time in 50 years. Losing so bad that the PM's head spun... when he is not sleeping, of course.

Until today though, we, the people are still not sure why the PM insists the ruling party needs a 2/3rd majority to properly rule the country. We asked, they refused to answer. At least we know now that no constitution can be changed without the people knowing. That's showing our protest in the ballot box. That's for challenging us. That's for thinking you are infallible. That's for being so arrogant.

That's for sleeping on the job.

One more note, Mr PM: Hang the bloody racial card. We are not as ignorant as we were in 1969. There is something nifty called the 'Internet'.

Do us a favour and do what you do best: Sleep on the job.

Job hopping taken too far

Hello everyone...

My name is Myrr, and I am a job hopper...

*insert smattering of applause*

Hello Myrr!!

Yes, I fully admit it, I am a job hopper. In a country where increments aren't enough for a month's supply of petrol, job hopping is the only way you can actually increase your salary. It is frowned upon where but I heard in other countries, it has become a way of life. But that's not the point I am trying to make here.

So I have this ex-colleague/friend. When I left that company two years ago, she was talking about looking for another job. I encouraged her, of course. The company didn't seem to be heading towards any direction worth talking about.

She stoutly said: "I prayed for it, and God has given me a revelation. I am to stay."

Look, don't get me wrong. I am not doubting God in anyway. But please, sometimes avoiding making a decision and claiming everything to be God's revelation is getting a tad old... not to mention irresponsible.

So late last year, which is around two years later, she realised that the situation there wasn't getting any better. In fact, due to certain pressures, things has gotten steadily worse. So she decides, be herself this time, to leave. She found a job, said she prayed for it and God has given her a sign. (Please note, I don't condone the blaming of God for every crap decision you make about your job and your life)

She left for this job. I called her one week later and she said she is looking for another job, and she wants to tender. I was shocked, to say the least. She said that the working environment is bad. I advised her to stay at least a month. That period of getting used to a new job is quite hard and it sure as hell takes more than a week.

So she quit.

She has been jobless and worrying about it for months. Then she suddenly got another job again. I called her yesterday, the second day. She said this: "Wrong choice again. Going to look for another job."

Uhm... hon, it's been one day. Things would still definitely be shaky after one day. I had advised her to give herself until the end of her probation period to decide. But she has already decided. Come on, if you were so worried to begin with, why are you running through jobs like you are underwear?

I fully admit to being a notorious job hopper but I stuck it out and tried to get use to the environment. One day is not trying to get used to the environment. While I understand it is easier for people to know what they don't like then to know what the like, this is getting a little too much.

I have come to a point where I have given up on her.

Slip of a tongue, or slip of a brain?

My boss just went on a business trip and she had our insurance agent come pick her up and send her to the airport. My boss asked me to come down to get the company stamp back. Apparently, the insurance agent needed the stamp on some form or something. I was standing there with her when the insurance agent (IA) exited the car.

IA: Waah, she so lucky, got such a good shaver to shave her around.

I guess I looked like an idiot, standing there with my mouth ajar. We as women have precious little to 'shave' and my mind got pretty dirty after that, seeing that the insurance agent was ALSO a woman.

Finally, my brain connected and I realised she meant chauffeur...

Yes, go figure.
