Accuracy, privacy, and how IP geo differs from GPS.
How do IP geo and GPS differ?
IP geo infers location from ISP databases — often correct at country/city level but can be tens of km off. GPS (if permitted) uses device sensors and is usually much more accurate.
Why must I allow browser location?
Geolocation requires explicit consent. If denied, only IP geo is shown; GPS rows are omitted or show an error message.
Does a VPN change IP geo?
Yes. Public IP and ISP reflect the VPN/proxy exit. GPS may still show the device’s real position — a common reason to compare both sources.
Does the embedded map store my location?
The map iframe only displays coordinates from your current scan; third-party map policies apply. miubicacion.com does not require an account.
What does GPS accuracy (meters) mean?
It is an estimated error radius around the point. Indoors or with weak satellites, accuracy can be large; outdoors is typically better.
