1. I will create a collaborative and communal classroom

2. I will cultivate a welcoming environment for every type of learner

3. I will prioritize teaching skills that cannot be rendered obsolete by software updates

4. I will help students find their own voice and encourage them to use it

5. I will meet students where they are

6. I will learn the name of every student and pronounce it correctly

7. I will keep an open mind to another generations ways of doing things

8. I will showcase the work of designers underrepresented in traditional design history

9. I will explore the tension between technical execution and concept development

10. I will plant seeds, water soil, and remove weeds, but I will not tell the plants how to grow

11. I will improvise and feel it out

12. I will have fun
