Hey peeps! So I finally have a new post for you and I am delighted that it is another iconbattle with my good friend incandescent. Last time we thoroughly enjoyed our Studio Ghibli battle, and decided this time to have a celebrity themed one, with technical challenges rather than the palette scheme. We decided to choose 4 celebs each (2 male, 2 female); I chose Danai Gurira, James McAvoy, Lucy Liu, and Aaron Tveit, whilst incandescent picked Jessica Chastain, Marilyn Monroe, Tom Hiddleston, and Daniel Radcliffe.
I had a lot of fun making these, Laura's creativity is so inspiring to me and I love working with her. She challenges me to try new things and let loose; I love how unique each of her icons is, and she's never afraid to try something out of the box. Credit for the beautiful banner, and table, go to her aswell. (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥

Hey peeps! So, here's something a little different for you. My lovely friend incandescent and I got chatting about doing a Ghibli icon battle, and decided to do it a little differently. Rather than the typical approach of picking screencaps we took inspiration from rainbow_elite and turned it into a palette challenge. Our colours were inspired by the seasons; I took Spring and Autumn, while Laura was responsible for Summer and Winter. Doing it this way allowed us more freedom for creativity and meant we had free choice of screencaps from all the beautiful Ghibli films.

We really enjoyed it and hope you'll like too! ♥

Ok peeps, here we go! I've been meaning to do something for a while, as I reached over 700 watchers, which is unbelievable and you all roooock. So here's how this is going to work:

01. This is for icons of films/movies only. All genres and ratings welcome. Now is the time for you to request an icon of your favourite film, that might not be so easy to find elsewhere!

02. Each requester (is that a word?) will be made 2 icons. You can request more than one film. If there aren't too many people requesting the number of icons may rise.

03. You do not have to provide screencaps, but if you know of a good place to find any please let me know, especially galleries. I find that ladymanson.com is a great place to start, they're nearly always bluray caps and there's lots of films already uploaded. :)

04. If you would like to request any particular character(s) or scene(s) just let me know in your comment. Also if you're requesting from a trilogy/series, for example Star Wars, please specify which film, i.e. A New Hope.

Channeling so many different styles omfg what is even going on here. So hai, this is a little challenge I set myself, sort of inspired by the last round at 20inspirations.

This song is associated with some happy childhood memories for me. My cousins and I would sometimes go to the pub with our dads on a saturday and play out in the garden on this rusty old swing. When it was cold we used to go inside and play pool; we'd set this song up on the jukebox about 6 times in a row and drive everyone crazy!

Is it big-headed to say I'm really proud of this batch? Well, I am though. I really didn't know where to start with the round as it's such a general theme, there's so much about me that I can express through icons. In the end I decided to icon the things I love most in a fandom sense: TV, film and celebs. Obviously I love a lot of these things, far more than I could ever fit into a 20 icon batch. So these are just some that either have a special place in my heart, or I'm currently fangirly about.

[01] Hawaii Five-0. Steeeeeve! My favourite is always a draw between Steve and Danno but I really loved this cap, so he won this round. ;) This show is fun and ridiculous, plus the scenery pr0n is flawless.
[02] Doctor Who. I love Eleven, but Ten will always be my Doctor. David and Catherine are perfect together and I really enjoyed series 4, I thought the relationship between the Doctor and Donna was brilliantly written. ~~Still bitter about how it ended though.~~
[03] Spartacus. Ugh, Nagron, my beautiful OTP. They are the reason I even started watching this show, and now I'm so glad I did. It's brutal yet beautiful.
[04] The Walking Dead. During season 2 I occasionally thought to myself 'Why are you even watching this, 90% of these characters are increasingly irritating'. And then Daryl Dixon comes striding in and does/says something badass/awesome/hilarious/sweet and I'm like OH YEAH THAT'S WHY. I have a loooooot of Daryl feels, ok. On a side note, Daryl/Carol OTP, too.
[05] Suits. Ok, all of the women in this show are amazing and fantastic role models (congrats to the writers, seriously). But honestly, if I could be a fictional character I would be Jessica. This flawless HBIC, I adore her.

[06] Merlin. This was my first LJ fandom, and even though I'm not a part of it now it'll always mean something special to me because of that. I have my issues with the show, but at the end of the day I still enjoy it for the silliness that it is. Also, it's very pretty.
[07] Band of Brothers. I have way too many BoB feels to write down here so we'll keep this short and sweet: favourite series of all time hands down no contest. Urgh, tears everywhere.
[08] Miranda. My queen of everything. I had to put a comedy icon in this batch, and as that woman is pretty much my spirit animal it had to be this.
[09] Sherlock BBC. Guh, do I really need to explain? Flawless show is flawless. I chose to icon this as Reinchenbach Falls is (probably) my favourite eppy.
[10] Generation Kill. Like BoB, this show has a very special place in my heart. My booooooys. Nate was my favourite from the first; I truely admire him. When his idealism starts to crumble around him my heart just breaks.

So the theme for round 19 was art, in a very general sense, which meant my entire brain starting crying and didn't even know where to begin. Fortunately Spartacus has some very beautiful, artsy frames to work with, whic was a good starting point.

Hi, and welcome to my Breaking Bad/Aaron Paul/Bryan Cranston obsession. You know when there's good TV, and then sometimes there's great TV...and then you watch something that is completely in a league of its own? That is Breaking Bad. I mean, good god. I've been meaning to watch this since forever and now I can't believe it took me so long. I'm starting season 2 tonight, EXCITED. I'm also doing reasonably well at avoiding spoilers for future seasons, which I am both glad and impressed by.

Urgh such a small batch, I can't seem to find any inspiration lately. Just some elitesherlock entries, one Mad Dogs (fail) and some Robin Hood BBC nostalgia. I bought series 1 and 2 of RH on DVD so I could rewatch it for the first time in 5/6 years (!). ALL THE FEELINGS YOU GUYS, ALL OF THEM. I am so happy to have this show back in my life; it is ridiculous, camp, clichéd and wonderful (well up until S2 finale which we'll just pretend doesn't exist, along with S3).
