Note: I'm cheating. I haven't seen any of the movies nommed except Finding Neverland. I have NO desire to see The Aviator or Million Dollar Baby, so this'll probably influence my choices.

Best Actor
Who Should Win: Don Cheadle or Johnny Depp
Who Will Win: Jamie Foxx

Foxx is a shoe-in at this point. But I like Cheadle, and have heard fantastic things about his performance (why Hotel Rwanda wasn't nommed for Best Picture is beyond me). Johnny was flawless in Neverland. I don't care if he doesn't want an Oscar, he deserves one for that movie.

Best Actress
Who Should Win: Catalina Moreno
Who Will Win: Hilary Swank

I'm rooting for Catalina, because what teeny bit I saw of her in Maria, Full of Grace was amazing. But I think that movie was just too under-the-radar for it to draw any attention to her performance. Swank annoys me, but she'll nab it.

Who Should Win: Clive Owen, Thomas Haden Church
Who Will Win: Thomas Haden Church

Okay, I'm just nomming Clive 'cause he's hot.

Who Will Win: Cate Blanchett

I'd like the Academy to finally recognize the awesomeness that is Linney, but they seem really into impersonations this year. Cate will get it; Katharine Hepburn is no small task.

Best Director
Who Should Win: Martin Scorsese
Who Will Win: Clint Eastwood

You can't go wrong with Scorsese, but all the hype about this category has "Clint" written all over it.

Best Picture
Who Should Win: Finding Neverland or Sideways
Who Will Win: Million Dollar Baby or The Aviator

I would love it if this year, the Academy laid aside its notions that a Good Movie is heavyhanded and dramatic and deals with a Big Issue and gave the prize to a touching, sweet little film or a dry comedy. Too many good movies have been passed over for Oscars because they're not dramatic enough or whatever, and this looks to be the fate of the two I think should win.

WHOAAA.

I just watched this Law and Order: SVU episode where this girl is murdered and they analyze her and she's pregnant with her RELATIVE'S baby, and they find out that the girl's mom had been having an affair with her BOYFRIEND'S DAD and her boyfriend's dad was actually HER dad too and the girl's dad was just her boyfriend's dad with a DOUBLE IDENTITY, so Stabler had to tell the boyfriend that his dead girlfriend was actually his sister AND pregnant with their baby, and the guy started crying and throwing up and attacking Stabler but Stabler in all of his SEXY MAN GLORY totally, like, deflected his rage and turned the attack into a Manly Hug.

And before that was the ritualistic sacrifice of a Nigerian boy and the eventual discovery of a ring of Nigerian child slaves and Stabler arrested a lot of people sexily.

And right now, this woman was SET ON FIRE and the opening sequence was her running down the street BURNING.

DUDE. this show rules LIEK WHOA.

7 P.M. We settle down in front of the TV.
Mom: Okay, but we can only do 1 episode tonight. I have to do a bit of work.

Me: Alright.

8 P.M. Part Two.
Mom: So we'll stop right after this one, and clean the kitchen before your dad gets home, and then go to bed, ok?

Me: Well, that's part 2. Kitchen, then bed?

3. I watched Moulin Rouge! 6 times in the past week.

4. I'm 16!

5. I can now get my driving learner's permit any time I wish since I passed the course, no thanks to my creeeeeeeepy instructor.

6. SHOEBOX = GOD.

7. School starts in a week.

To The Writers Again: Okay, so MJ's Plot Device Boyfriend was...the first person to play football on the moon?? The HELL? Are you on CRACK???

To The CGI Guys: Thank you for making CGI!Spidey buff.

And Another One To The Writers: Right, we all cut you a little slack with the last movie's ending--the whole "SPIDERMAN WILL PAY", blatant sequel hinting, blah blah. But really, the Blinking Lights of Impending Sequel have a bit too much wattage this time. I mean, Harry was all but jumping up and down in a green jumpsuit going "LOOK!! LOOK AT ME!! I'm gonna be a BAD GUY and avenge that meany SPIDERMAN for mah daddy's death and shit!!" Tone it down a little.
