Hello!
I'm having trouble when I want to try applying a new layout. There are two problems:
1. There is a grey line just below my navigation strip. If I delete my navigation strip, there'll be a long grey box.

2. There is another grey box at the footer, that is clashing with the layout at the bottom.

sidebar calendar and tag list missing?

I'm having trouble getting some of the sidebar features of my layout to appear. Smooth Sailing has a calendar view, tag list, and blurb that can be viewed on the entry page and the code I'm using contains specifications for each, yet I don't see anything. I'm looking for a layout that was posted in mintyapple last year and doesn't exist anymore. The post has been deleted, and the maker's journal, dulcitone, has been deleted. The layout I'm currently using is technically it, but the layout posted had rounded icons and was overall a bit cleaner/nicer. Does anyone know if the maker has a new journal, or if anyone still has the CSS for the layout?

Problem I'm having: This is sort of an ad placement problem that I'm having on the account I'm testing this layout on, but I can see where it could be a problem if the sidebar just had a lot of random info in it too. What's going on is that it looks fine from the recent entries page but when you click into an entry, the comments to that entry are positioned below the sidebar even if it's a short entry. It leaves a lot of space between the entry and the comments and with vertical ads you'd have to scroll down to read them. Hi! I'm sort of new at all this CSS and I've got the feeling I'm getting in a bit too deep with what I want to do... but I'm hoping someone here can help me!

I've been changing around some of the design and finding it difficult to manipulate anything on the big wide gray area on this particular layout just below the header image. The only thing I can get to show up there is the link list... so what I'd really like to have next to it is a small banner or a block of text... but how do I get it there? Where would I add the html in order to create the class to tell it where I want it?

User icons and names not showing up on Friends Page

Problem/Question: On my Friends Page, the user name and their user pic aren't showing up (they aren't showing up on my recent entries, but that's my stuff and I don't really mind that). The layout was made by roserascal and her journal looks like it's been abandoned; someone else asked this same question on her journal, Said that after release 88, it's no longer compatible with Flexible Squares, and was never answered.

If anyone can help, I would REALLY appreciate it

Problem/Question: On some computer screens (it works fine on both my widescreen laptops; but since some friends reported that my journal-layout isn't working properly for them I checked and could detect that the problem occurs mostly while using normal-width screens) the icons (on the left side next to the entries) are not visible anymore, because they're too far left. The only way to make them visible is to zoom-out by which the text becomes too small to read. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Problem/Question: I have two questions, really. One, I'm trying to change the link color in my entry from white to black, just the links in the entry text, but I can't seem to do it! Whenever I try, ALL the links change color.

Second question, kind of like the first. I'm trying to change the subject of the sidebar boxes, ie where it says links and August 2011, from black to white. Can't do that either.

Problem: I'm using this layout from fruitstyle and the tiny icon for a members only post has this cute little heart next to it but with this comm all the entries are going to be public.

Problem/Question: i hope someone can help me out. i'm using this layout but i want to change the color of some specific links - the 'post new comment' link to be exact. It looks yellow and blends with the background but when the mouse goes over it, it turns brown. Any way i can change only those links? cause i tried some options but other links change as well. :/

Also, the color of the text in the 'post comment' and 'more options' buttons is barely noticeable, any way to change that?

finally, everytime i post an entry, doesn't matter how much i format it, it always appears in arial (i wanna be able to use times new roman and arial) but somehow the entry text always is arial.

help with a profile html code

can anyone help me with this html problem??? things doesn't turn out the way they should in the bio

okay, so i made a profile code, and tested it on a html test page, and it came out like this:

but it didn't work in the bio session on livejournal. so i made somee changes, and the best i could come up with is this:

but the text has a weird position, the links are way too small, i used padding-left:3pt; on the "profile code by" part, but it won't work either....

Problem/Question: I'm using this layout for my buff/angel community. It currently has a topbar. I think for my community a sidebar would be much better. I'm wondering how to get the topbar changed to a sidebar (on the right side). Userpic ON and username OFF on entries

Problem/Question: I wanted to remove the username below the userpic on the main page because it sort of went in the way with the text of the post, but removed only the userpic instead. When I finally figured how not to show the username, I tried to make the userpic appear again, because as you can see from the picture now there's an unaesthetic blank space next to the title (where the userpic's supposed to be).
Can someone tell me exactly how to show the userpic on the entries but NOT the username? thanks
