Can Jinn Really Possess You? Fact or Folklore?  

For some people, feeling chills down one’s spine and hearing faint whispers in silence may be a subject of concern. Possession by Jinn, a supernatural creature created from the fire in Islamic tradition, possesses a vivid spectrum of stories across cultures. It is more common to hear people tell of jinn influencing emotions, sculpting streams of thoughts and behaviors, and in deteriorated cases, taking control over an individual, especially when the person is mentally distressed. Although capturing the imagination of many, this phenomenon is usually at the hands of mentally dissociative disorders according to scientific research. Nevertheless, many still feel the necessity to go to spiritual healers for exorcism and protection. Now, whether you consider it a scary reality or an object of culture, one thing you can’t deny is that fear and fascination surrounding the possession of jinn manages to capture people’s minds from around the world.
