...Been a long while.

Hello all!

I don't know how many of you guys are still on here, but I have missed the world of fanfiction. I dropped out of the face of the earth (fandom-wise), except for tumblr, which I usually browse through my phone when I need my mind to be blank.

The disappearing act wasn't something that I did on purpose. Work got busy, life got even busier, and I simply forgot to check my fandom mail as well as all the other fandom sites I used to be on several times a day. I signed in today to see roughly 2000 emails that were unread. It's too daunting to go through, honestly.

Kind of sad that a lot of fests have ended and that a lot of mods have changed, but I am glad to see some of you still on here. I saw three fests that I want to participate in. I think I can make the time, based on the timeline.

I used to have an overwhelming need to write, but I don't anymore. I really miss that. And I also miss the community as well as reading and writing fanfiction. Right now, RL has taken over almost every aspect of what used to be my fandom life.

I won't be taking down my stories, BUT I'm currently hunting down every story of mine to save it, just in case.

I never backed up my stories. Can you believe that? It was a habit to me, until I realised the sheer volume of writing I was producing.

Anyways, just wanted to say a quick HELLO! because I'm hoping to pop in from time to time. :)

Okay, I'm being super dramatic, but I have my reasons.

1. I started reading my first fanfic in 3 years just 2 days ago (and it's lovely).
2. I haven't written a single fanfic for over a year!

Lydia Martin/Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf)

I've never actually been in a place so early on in shipping. Usually, I join in when the outcome is obvious or canon has been stated and my doomed ship is doomed but that's okay. For the first time I understand that disappointment in not seeing your ship happen but being enough of a masochist to enjoy the slow burn as they date other people.

B: A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind.

Draco Malfoy/Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

It's no secret that I didn't even think about shipping Dramione until I read Floorcoasters' Gravity. It was exceptionally written and it sold me on the ship. I had no idea that I would ship something so long, taking part in a ridiculous amount of challenges just so I could write about 140 fics just for this pairing alone. And to top it all off, I met some of the best people in the Dramione fandom. I've never been in any other fandom as supportive and nice and welcoming as this one.

C: A pairing you wish you shipped, but just can't.

Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf)

This fandom has some of the most creative fanart and fanfiction. I appreciate them, but I still don't ship the characters. I see the chemistry, but it's not really a shippy chemistry for me. I love them as reluctant friends, though. ^_^

D: What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?

An Unexpected Turn of Events (Derek Venturi/Casey McDonald) from Life With Derek

*buries face* This is the worst thing I've ever written in my life. Awful punctuation, a mix of American and British spellings, careless writing, a hideous amounts of cliches and tropes. How people still favourite this story is beyond me. I promised myself long ago to fix it, but I can't get through even one paragraph without cringing. And it's a multi-chapter! *groans*

E: Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

The Terrible Tale of Pirate Granger and her Snarky First Mate/Soon-to-be Ex-Husband Draco Malfoy as They Travel Six of the Seven Seas Fighting Deadly Cheese, Chest Hair, Wacky Wizarding Laws, Muggle Traffic, Creepy Pandas and Each Other

It's not easy being married to pirate. And Draco just wants to be divorced with kids. Not to start some muggle business and certainly not to be embroiled in a murder-conspiracy involving cheese, ancient wizarding laws, and of all the terrible things in the world, unwanted body hair. Authors include: unseen1969, captainraychill, alina290, mihnn, itsraa, justthedreams, scarlettcat_5, pokeystar, rzzmg, silverotter1, and with_rhyme with dormiensa as our lovely beta.

Yes! This was fun to write, but better to read. :D

I think I was actively in this fandom from 2009 - 2013.

G: What was your first fandom?

Life With Derek

I was completely addicted to this show for the longest time. It was sweet and touching, and obviously I shipped the oldest step-siblings from day one, which was why I got into fandom in the first place. I knew the ship was doomed, but fanfiction helped to accept the disappointment easily.

H: Do you prefer real-life TV shows or animated TV shows?

I: Has tumblr/fandom caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?

Nope. There are enough ship wars in all fandoms. I stay away from them, ship who I ship and continue on my merry way. I don't let the fandom dictate whether I stay in the fandom or not. I focus on the source material.

J: Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr/fandom.

Doctor Who

The only reason I even started watching this show was because of Tumblr. No one around here has even heard of it. Boy, am I glad I gave it a try.

K: How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom(s)?

I hate the haters and love those who spread positivity. I can't generalise more than that.

L: Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for?

A 250,000 word multi-chapter story focusing on my OTP with well-rounded secondary characters, a well-thought out plot line, tons of angst with great character development and smut! Can't forget the smut!

Because, damn, this boy goes through the ringer, and still he stays in love with the girl who gives him a cold shoulder. Yikes! At least we know he gets the girl at the end. A war must happen, many deaths are suffered, but at least that is some consolation for two broken people. He gets the girl.

This is one of the most frustrating ships because he knows how smart and brilliant she is, even though she pretends to be less than what she is to pump up the ego of other guys. He lets her do whatever she wants, and take whatever she wants from him and he never asks for more. He'll never love anyone because he will always be in love with her, ever since he got to know her in third grade. And he has no hope that anything will ever happen between them, which is worse. ~~Jeff Davis better make this happen. Just saying.~~
