Hello all. I recently moved down to Northamptonshire from the Lake District and I'm looking for new friends in or around the area. I'm pretty lost and I could do with someone to point me in the right direction for fun stuff to do. I like music, mostly metal, rockabilly, psychobilly and things along those lines, I have a handful of tattoos and piercings...and..yeah I feel a bit of a tool listing all this off but you get the idea. I'm a nice lass with a funny accent. Say hello?

Cycle Maps

A programme has begun to produce cycle maps for each district in Staffordshire. The aims of the maps are to help cyclists plan their journeys around Staffordshire. The routes shown on the maps are those that exist at present and also a number of suggested routes along quieter streets.

Copies of the maps are available from tourist information centres and libraries. Alternatively, you can email carshare@staffordshire.gov.uk or phone 01785 276517

Heritage at Risk is English Heritage's ground-breaking new programme. It seeks to identify the parts of the nation's historic environment that are endangered, and to get something done about them.

The West Midlands' .pdf is making for some interesting reading, so no doubt some of you might be interested in some of the others.

This'll probably get xposted lots btw, so apologies if you see it ten million times. :)

MICE!

Hi Everyone, would anyone be interested in 3 male mice? They are about 4-5 weeks old. Alternitivly if you prefer, I have one female mouse that is probably pregnant :/ so if you wanted to breed then I have a possible already pregnant female.

Basically they were all sold to me as Males, but I found out tonight that one is indeed female! You can tell the rest are males though, but just because everyone I saw one out it had testicles so wasn't alarmed or notice that there was a female in the cage :/

They're obv free to good home and cages are cheap to get from pets at home or whereever, but if I don't find a solution then they're going to be set free in some field which I really don't want :(

Cannock Case dogged by swingers!

Having taken the dogs for a walk during daylight hours 'cause minimutt's just way too bouncy and playful for her own good when teenemogrumpy mutt's being - well, teen, emo, and grumpy, I figured I'd pick up the copy of the Chase Post mentioned in this thread for scanning before I dragged myself back up the stairs to collapse. The following pic is the result of said scan, and since - to make the text readable - the scan needed to be at a decent resolution, clicking said pic that's gonna be visible here should - servers and links and the usual in7orw3bby stuff permitting, take you to a readable version of the page.

So what do you think? Should us locals of Cannock Case get upset and annoyed at the dogged persistence of 8ball for selling such offensive wares? Or should we suck it up and laugh it off and take it as possibly the best free publicity we're gonna get in a long time? Me? In case you hadn't noticed, I'm all for the latter. :}

Just wondered if anyone was free this Friday. There is a gig at the Biggin hall Pub @ 8pm. There are two bands on playing and the music is a bit of Soul, Funk, Pop and should be a great night.

Its to raise money for the lead singer to go out to a school in Africa for 5 months to teach blind children to play trumpet.

The Arts Meets Environment Festival offers free art, drama, media and other workshops to people aged between 14 and 27 living in the Rockingham Forest area of Northamptonshire (This area encompasses the district of East Northamptonshire north of, and including, Thrapston; most of the villages in the Boroughs of Corby and Kettering plus the towns of Rothwell, Desborough and Oundle).

A website has recently been set up at www.amef.org.uk where you can view listings of all upcoming workshops and events, see photos and reviews of past workshops, and register in order to take part in the forums and have your say in what happens with the Festival.

The workshops are totally free to people within the Rockingham Forest area and free transport is available to those who require it.

People living outside this area are welcome to attend the workshops for a nominal fee of £2 for the two-hour workshops and £5 for the full-day workshops.

Please pass this info on to anyone who you think may be interested- the AMEF is looking to get as many people interested and attending the workshops as possible.
