Back then I compared Dark Table, ON1, and C1, and couple of others. Dark table was a non starter for the incredibly bad user interface (think GIMP). ON1 was good enough, but I’ve struggled with lot of noise when processing RAW (Canon 20D, 5Dmk2, Sony RX1), both in highlights and shadows. Beyond of what I would get with LR, C1, or even Aperture at that time. Plus, they had no inkling of DAM, which I wanted as well. I went with C1, and after learning the interface and lot of customizing, it’s my favourite of what’s out there. I got it customized to almost resemble my Aperture workflow, which was my absolute favourite DAM/editor for RAW photos.
\n\n
I also use Affinity Photo for photoshop-like editing and the occasional raw editing (it also runs great on iPad). It also does good job of panorama stitching. It was a bit of adjustment/learning curve after 12+ years of photoshop, but it does all I’ve ever needed from it.
\n","url":"https://micro.blog/oyam/4125368","date_published":"2019-06-20T02:12:42+00:00","author":{"name":"Mayo Jordanov","url":"https://oyam.ca","avatar":"https://cdn.micro.blog/photos/96/https%3A%2F%2Fmicro.blog%2Foyam%2Favatar.jpg","_microblog":{"username":"oyam"}},"_microblog":{"date_relative":"2019-06-20 02:12","date_timestamp":1560996762,"is_favorite":false,"is_bookmark":false,"is_deletable":false,"is_conversation":true,"is_linkpost":false,"is_mention":true}},{"id":"3656896","content_html":"
@EddieHinkle @cleverdevil yay!
