My first instinct was to apologize for not posting in so long but truth is its my journal to post as much or as little as I want lol so no I'm sorry from me. I do however intend to comment more to others especially on fic I've read :)

I recently went to a spn con in DC. Had a lovely time and made some terrific friends and deepened friendships with others. Welcome to my new but not so new friends raths_kitten and firesign10. I've known both for awhile from stalking my wife's dolnmoon journal and from reading their fics. They are both quite good storytellers so if you've never read them run over and do so immediately.

They recently revealed the show renewals and cancellations. While a few of the half hour comedies we enjoyed were cancelled(The Crazy Ones, Michael J Fox, Sean saves the world) all our diehard fandoms remain unscathed.

Speaking of fandoms I have to work until 11:30 pm the night of the supernatural finale..boo hiss lol.

For those interested here is what I'll be watching over the summer while I await the return of my precious fall shows :)

Under the Dome(this was initially set to be a mini series movie like The Stand was back a few years ago but viewership was so high that about halfway through the season they changed paths and made it a series. This both excites and worries me. I'm excited because its an intriguing show based on a good novel and they have more time to develop characters and flesh out storylines. It worries me because there is always that fear of cancellation before the show reaches a logical conclusion.)

Penny Dreadful..I watched the premiere of this a couple nights ago and I must say it had me quite intrigued.I think I might rather enjoy it.

True Blood..this will be the final season for this show. Out of all my fandoms this is probably the one I fluctuate between loving and hating the most. I came close to giving it up a couple times but never did so now feel compelled to see it through to the bitter end. What can I say I'm a sucker for pretty people and the show is full of them :).

Falling Skies...This is my diehard summer fandom. It reminds me somewhat of the walking dead..ya know if the zombies were intelligent aliens lol.

Well I'm off to do dishes and then start another fanfic or perhaps read a few chapters in my walking dead novel.

Google and other opponents of the legislation argue that restricting the Internet in the U.S. sets a bad international precedent and that the language defines infringing too broadly.

As some of you are aware dolnmoon reported an offensive image that contained an extremely underage child having penetrative intercourse with a grown man. Their response was this:

Dear user dolnmoon,

Thank you for your inquiry. LiveJournal takes the issue of child pornography very serious and will always act quickly to remove it from our servers. However, upon review of these entries, we have found no violations of our Terms of Service. Drawings and fanfiction are not considered to qualify as child pornography, even those that are explicit, as no real child is being depicted.

Therefore, even though such images and stories are upsetting to many viewers, there is no action we will take at this time.

So I took the liberty to look into lj's terms of service and the Child pornography laws as mandated by the United States Government and this is what I discovered.

A user has posted content which incites, encourages, or advocates pedophilia, the abuse of children in any way, or the act of rape.

Action
All accounts belonging to the user who posted the material will be terminated.

Explanation
This policy exists due to the extremely harmful nature of the activities in question, and we do not want users who incite, encourage, or advocate any of these activities present on LiveJournal. A user has posted content on LiveJournal, or has provided means for others to obtain content, which meets the legal definition of child pornography.

Action
Content that clearly meets the legal definition of child pornography will result in termination of the user's account. Additionally, the content will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Content which does not clearly meet the definition of child pornography but which is questionable due to uncertainty regarding the age of person(s) portrayed, or which, for any other reason demonstrates characteristics which, in LiveJournal's opinion, is questionable, LiveJournal will disable access to that material pending internal review. If the poster can provide clear evidence that the person was 18 or older at the time the image was created, they may continue use of the material.

LiveJournal has adopted this policy to be compliant with United States law. Any photograph, video, or other similar content which would lead an ordinary person to conclude that it depicts an actual minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct is covered by this policy. United States law is very strict regarding child pornography, and LiveJournal has zero tolerance for this type of illegal content, or the users who have posted it.

In response to the demise of the CPPA, on April 30, 2003 President George W. Bush signed into law the PROTECT Act of 2003 (also dubbed the Amber Alert Law).[4]
The law enacted 18 U.S.C. § 1466A, which criminalizes material that has "a visual depiction of any kind, including a drawing, cartoon, sculpture or painting" that "depicts a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and is obscene" or "depicts an image that is, or appears to be, of a minor engaging in ... sexual intercourse ... and lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value". By its own terms, the law does not make all simulated child pornography illegal, only that found to be obscene or lacking in serious value.The PROTECT Act also amended 18 U.S.C. § 2252A, which was part of the original CPPA. The amendment added paragraph (a)(3), which criminalizes knowingly advertising or distributing "an obscene visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct; or a visual depiction of an actual minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Needless to say I have also reported this image and included a copy of the law in my report. I'm awaiting my response and have my fingers crossed that it will go in my favor. In the meantime I encourage all of you to use your voices...LJ is just like any other business..it caters to the majority so if you stumble across a image that you feel is even possibly legally wrong..report it. It's time we took a stand instead of letting the depraved few get the majority vote. If our taking a stand means a few sites get closed down so be it,,,what's a few sites compared to the unknown number of children that may not be abused because these images weren't made available to potential pedophiles. And if you are inclined to post/spread these types of images stop and ask yourself this before hitting that post button...Could this be the catalyst that causes a potential abuser to take action?

Ok I'm off my soapbox now. ION: I'm really enjoying the majority of my fandoms at the moment..especially Supernatural, Walking Dead, Dexter, Ringer, and Criminal Minds. Also Supernatural is up for two awards at the People's Choice this year..Best Drama and Best Sci=Fi Fantasy so if you haven't voted head on over and vote NOW http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/vote/votenow.jsp They are up against Walking Dead in the Sci/Fi Fantasy category so I could handle seeing them lose to that but lets at least keep them from losing to The Vampire Diaries(no offense to friends that like this show)
