Like I promised you earlier this week (although I guess pretty much everyone scrolled past my last post since it was a promotion after all), I'm sharing a new textures package with you. I know, a long time passed since my last update, but here I am again with brand new stuff. I truly hope you'll like this set, that once again contains textures with a vintage touch. There are architecture drawings, old train tickets, flowers prints, a key, a world-map, old passport scans, drawings of crowns and lots more. Just download the whole thing to see all the goodies. Hello wonderful people over there! It's time for a new textures set.
So this set here is probably my favourite textures package I've made so far. Some weeks ago I found this incredibly beautiful journal of my grandaunt at my grandmother's house and fell completely in love with it. It looks simply gorgeous and so very lovely. Every page is unique and filled with lots of old memories. Therefore I decided to scan some pages of it and to make textures out of them. Perhaps I'll make a second textures set of these journal's pages in the near future, but that really depends on the response that I'll get to this one. :)
But anyway, have fun with the textures! ♥

Planisphère - 15 large textures

Hello dear watchers, members and other lovely people!
It's been ages since I last uploaded or rather made new textures and I'm so sorry for the lack of updates over the last few months for my part. My life was pretty demanding lately and a lot changed and is still changing at the moment, so I was/am a bit busy. In addition I tend to be a bit lazy from time to time and everyone who knows me a bit better, knows that I can be a hell of a procrastinator sometimes. So yeah... now you know. But I guess you're just here for the new textures anyhow and aren't really interested in my rants about my life so I'll show you my new package.

The set contains altogether 15 medium/large textures.
There are maps of Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Australia. Also there are globes and maps of the whole earth itself. The package isn't called "Planisphère" without a reason after all. It means "world map" in French.

I scanned these lovely drawings from an old French geography school book from 1899 that I bought last summer in an amazing antique book-store in Southern France. I adore old maps and plans of countries and cities in general, so I'll probably upload more textures like those in the near future if you like.

However, have fun with this set and I truly hope you'll be able to create beautiful art/graphics with it. :)

Oh and the new layout of the community is still somewhat under construction, so we're sorry if it doesn't look perfect by now. But we're working on it and will probably make some kind of update regarding mellowmint soon. So stay tuned.

Hey there! *waves*
Do you still remember me? Again over a month passed since I last posted some new stuff. I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately. School is keeping me busy and besides I'm also a terrible procrastinator. Anyway, I finally made it to create some new textures. 12 large beautiful flower textures. Believe me these are absolutely lovely. I scanned the flower images from a cute little French book that I bought in an amazing bookstore in France that sells hundreds of old books and magazines. The book from which the textures are, is called "Le langange de fleurs" by the way and I included the cover of it in the set as well. I truly hope you'll be able to create great art and graphics with them. Have fun and please don't forget to comment, when you download the set. Comments are always very appreciated. =)

Oh well, months passed since I last posted some new textures. I'm deeply sorry for this lack of updates for my part. Somehow I haven't found the right things to scan and also haven't got the inspirations to create textures in general. But now I'm back from holidays in France (actually since a week already. Oh how time flies.) and have brought lots of stuff to make textures off. So the first things I'm showing you are 28 old playing cards from 1928. They are super lovely and really useful. You can use them in Alice fanart for example or for giving your graphics cute little details. Playing cards are always great, so I hope you agree with me and have fun using this set in the future. =) Please don't forget to comment if you download. Thank you.

First of all I'm really sorry for the lack of posts lately, but real life is keeping me rather busy at the moment. I seriously hope though that I'll have the time to share some new textures with you soon again. I know that my resources updates turned out to be a bit sporadic, so yeah stay tuned for them. They'll come eventually. (Oh and by the way, I'm going to reply to all your comments on my last picspam entry, don't worry. I'm really sorry that I haven't so far, but I'll, I promise!)

However, now I'm sharing some Bradley/Colin love with you. Since I really enjoyed making my last two fanmixes, it was about time to create a new one. So as I mentioned in my last entry, I'm going to share a little picspam with you. The topic is of course Merlin related, since I'm madly in love with this show, the cast and the fandom in general. I thought I could make my first real picspam about Arthur and Merlin and their wonderful relationship. I've chosen my 7 favorite serious/touching/moving moments of them. Most likely I'll make "a funny/hilarious/cute moments picspam" of them in the near future too, since I really enjoyed to make this one here. So I truly hope you'll like and have fun looking at the lovely pictures. =)

Episode 1.02 - Valiant
Already in the second episode of the first series they shared a honest and touching moment that made you love their realationship right away. The honesty and truthfulness of this scene is just wonderful.

Merlin: "I know I'm just a servant and my word doesn't count for anything. I wouldn't lie to you."
Arthur: "I want you to swear to me what you're telling me is true."
Merlin: "I swear it's true."
Arthur: "Then I believe you."

Episode 1.04 - The Poisoned Chalice
This episode is full of great Arthur/Merlin moments, so it was hard to chose and in the end I still included two scenes of this ep in my picspam. I mean just look at it. They are willing to die for each-other.

Artur: Merlin, apologise. This is a mistake. I'll drink it.
Merlin: No, no, no. It's all right.

Episode 1.04 - The Poisoned Chalice
This moment is again so earnest and full of true concern and care. Their faces say so much and show their feelings wonderfully. These boys. *sighs* They are so precious.

Arthur: Still alive then?
Merlin: Yeah, just about. I understand I have you to thank for that.
Arthur: Yeah, well, it was nothing. A half-decent servant is hard to come by. I was only dropping by to make sure you were alright. Check that you'll be back to work tomorrow.
Merlin: Oh, yeah, yeah. Of course. Bright and early. Arthur... thank you.
Arthur: You too. Get some rest.

Episode 1.11 - The Labyrinth of Gedref
My favorite episode of the first series and this is my absolute favorite moment of this ep. Again they are willing to die for each-other to save the life of the other one. Also it's the first time Arthur admits that he's glad about Merlin being with him. Everything about this scene is perfect. Absolute perfection. (That's also the reason why it gets two exra caps. ;D)

Arthur: I had no idea you were so keen to die for me.
Merlin: Trust me, I can hardly believe it myself.
Arthur: I'm glad you're here, Merlin.
Merlin: I've got it! We pour all the liquid into one goblet and then we can be sure it's poisoned. Then all the liquid can be drunk, and from a single goblet.
Arthur: You never cease to surprise me. You are a lot smarter than you look.
Merlin: Is that actually a compliment?

Episode 2.06 - Beauty and the Beast: Part Two
Although the Troll episodes aren't really my favorite episodes, to be honest they are rather the opposite, I still think that this very moment was just lovely and showed how much Arthur cared for Merlin. Especially Arthur's look/expression in the last cap shows all the anxiousness and love for Merlin. Altogether just a complete "awww-moment"

Arthur: You need to get out of here. The King's ordered me to arrest you.
Merlin: What?
Arthur: Catrina's accused you of taking her seal.
Merlin: But I didn't.
Arthur: I don't want to know and you haven't got time to explain. If you value your life, you'll leave Camelot right now.
Merlin: But... she is a troll. She's trying to set me up.
Arthur: We've been through this.
Merlin: I'm telling the truth. I saw her.
(Knock at the door)
Arthur: I don't care. You need to leave, Merlin.
(Knock at the door) Sire?
Arthur: Go. Go

Episode 2.08 - The Sins of the Father
I think this scene is my favorite touching Arthur/Merlin moment of series two. Close behind is the one of 2.13. The reason why I like this one a tiny bit more is how they connect with each-other in this moment. They get to know each-other better and recognize what they have in common. They understand each-other and as I already said connect in a much deeper way than ever before. Also the fact that Bradley and Colin shot this in just one single take is incredible. Amazing acting.

Merlin: What was your mother like?
Arthur: I never knew her. She died before I opened my eyes.
Merlin: I'm sorry.
Arthur: I barely know anything about her.
Merlin: Can't you ask your father?
Arthur: He refuses to talk of her. It must be too painful for him. Sometimes it's as if she never even existed. I still have... a sense of her, almost as though she is part of me.
Merlin: It's the same… with my father, I never knew him. And my mother has barely spoken of him. I've got this... vague memory. It's probably just my imagination.
Arthur: I'd do anything for even the vaguest memory.
Merlin: Is that why you're so determined to find Morgause, to see what she knows about your mother?
Arthur: Is that so wrong?
Merlin: No.

Episode 2.13 - The Last Dragonlord
This is just an epic moment and that means something coming from me. I rarely use the word "epic", so it say something about this moment. Just everything about it is truly "wow". Starting with the beautiful lightening for instance. Great work of the director of photography. But moving on to the actors. Colin and Bradley did an amazing job. Their faces tell even more than the dialog. The deep friendship and love is omnipresent. Please give us more of these scene in season 3. I really hope for it.

Arthur: Merlin, if I die... please...
Merlin: What?
Arthur: The Dragonlord today. I saw you. One thing I tell all my young Knights... no man is worth your tears.
Merlin: (Teasingly) Yeah. You're certainly not.
Arthur: What are you doing?
Merlin: I'm coming with you.
Arthur: Merlin, the chances are I'm going to die.
Merlin: Yeah, you probably would if I wasn't there.
Arthur: Right!
Merlin: Do you know how many times I had to save your Royal backside?
Arthur: Well, at least you've got your sense of humour back. Are you really going to face this dragon with me?
Merlin: I'm not going to sit here and watch. I know it's hard for you to understand how I feel, but... well, I care a hell of a lot about that armour. I'm not going to let you mess it up.

And that's already the end.

So according to my last poll you wanted to see more textures from me and since I really care about your opinions and appreciate your feedback a lot, I decided to make some new ones. This time I even share two sets with you, so I hope you'll like them. Next time I guess I'll post a picspam, probably about something Merlin related, since I'm super addicted to it at the moment. But anyway, the first set is called "May Vintage" and contains 10 large textures such as an old golden frame, two wonderful maps, an aged letter with a beautiful swirly initial letter, two drawings of palm trees, an anatomical drawing of a skull, two lovely colored illustrations of the world and a nice red lightning on a black background. Then the second set is called "Scintillating Shells" and contains 20 medium-sized or rather large textures/scans of shells. As usual, comments make my day, so leave one, when you download something. Again several weeks passed since I last shared some textures. Life was pretty hectic and also a tad dramatic in the last few days, so that I just didn't find the ispiration or time to make something. Luckily I do have 14 days off which means that I hopefully will be more active here. We'll see. Anyway, today it's again textures and photographs time. Who is excited? Probalbly just me. ;D Well, this time the textures are again pretty random. Quite a mess to be honest. The set contains among others a map of Rome, two drawings of flacons, a collage, deers, a postcard, a Roman vase, a sign and so on. Download it and you'll see everything.
I just hope that the textures will be useful for you. Have fun with them!

It's been a while since I last made new textures. Before I share a new set, I wanted once again thank you all for the lovely comments you posted on my last entry. I'm still wowed by the positive feedback I got for the vintage textures. So thank you, everyone. ♥

So, because it's slowly getting warmer here and spring starts to show, I thought I could make some lovely, colorful icon-textures for once, instead of large, old ones. So here they are. I truly hope that they are useful and not just pretty. I reckon they would be good as backgrounds for icons or to give your graphics a light pinkish/orange colouration, when you set the layer mode in your Photosop to "soft light". But I think you'll come up with a way to use them anyhow. As usual comments make my day, so please be so kind and leave one, when you download. =)

vid: rise like the tide

Hey folks,
I made a new fanvideo. This time it's about Harry Potter 5. I hope you don't mind or rather enjoy that I post my videos here as well. New textures will probably come on the next weekend.

Informations to this video:
This is my video for the second BOIT challenge (a contest for vidders over at Youtube). The task was to create a video about any book we wanted. But of course it had to be creative and unique.

I had many ideas, which went from Pride & Prejudice, to The Lovely Bones or to the point of Stardust. But unfortunately I just hadn't the time nor a good copy of the movies based of these books. So I had to stick with Harry Potter, which was pretty challenging considering that the challenge was to make something "newer seen before". But I tried my best. I worked with many new things, such as moving textures and a caste, but I hope at least a tiny little bit with a unusual editing style.

Anyhow, the video is, as you can see, based on the events of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And that from point where Harry has the vision about Voldemort torturing Sirius. I pretty much followed the events from thenceforward and added some "flashbacks", if you want to call them that way. Just to show the deep bond, that mates Harry with Sirius. I also included/highlighted some small details that weren't that prominent in the movie. Such as the X's on the doors or the fountain in the ministry of magic. I guess altogether I tried, as I already said, my best. What I like the most are the voice-overs, so I hope you like them too.

this is going to be just a quick announcement, which outlines a decision that we made recently. From now on all fanmix-entries will get locked and made members-only after two weeks after we posted them. We are doing this simply because of the fact that we don't want to have any troubles in the new future. We hope you understand and don't turn away because of that. you can drive my car - fanmix!

Hey folks, a new fanmix from me. :D

So while I watched "The Real Merlin and Arthur" once more some days ago, I thought 'Why not make a fanmix to this?' and as you can see, I did. It took me however many hours to search for all the songs, to make the covers and to put everything together, but it was definitely fun. The mix is pretty Indie, but there are some songs, like "Life is a Highway" or "Radar Love" that loosen everything a bit. Altogether the songs are pretty happy and chipper, so exactly what you need for a long car drive. Also I create a tiny little picspam that accompanies the mix. Hey guys, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. :)
So, because I'm still on holiday and I have lots of free hours at hand, I managed to create a new textures set for you. This time it contains 30 large scans of spice and medical plants. I thought some flowers once again would be nice and these drawings that I found look beautiful and really handy. From arnica to wormwood, you will find most of the common medical and spice plants in this set. These textures are wonderful to give your art/graphics a special and unique look. I hope you like them and please don't forget to credit me or the community. Because lately I've seen many guys here on LJ, that clearly used my stuff, without giving me credit in their resources posts. I mean, it always takes me quite a lot time to create/scan these textures, so the least you can do is crediting me, don't you think so? Well, but however, enjoy the textures. I hope they'll be useful for you. :D Oh and I know that the preview doesn't look really great, but I was never good at creating them, so yeah whatever. ;)

First of all I wanted to thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my last entry. The amount of them really blew me away. You are great and I know that I haven't replied on all of them, but I'll do it in the next few days.

Almost one month without a single entry here.

Real life is sometimes really stressful. Luckily I have three weeks holiday now and I hope I'll be able to make some pretty textures and perhaps also some icons/wallpapers for you. Just stay tuned.

So for a start I have some new paper textures for you.
The set contains two old world maps, vintage handwritten paper textures, an anatomic drawing of a human heart and some nautical drawings as well. Maps of the United Kingdom

Long time passed, since I last posted textures here and I'm sorry for that.
But real life is keeping me pretty busy right now, though I still managed to scan some old maps, which I found some days ago. I decided to scan just the ones of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, 'cause lately I found myself searching for these kind of textures. Why, you may ask? Well, the main reason for it is that I'm really addicted to the Tv-show Merlin at the moment and I tried to make some fanart, but never really found textures that fit to the medieval theme of the show. Luckily I found these pretty maps. I thought, why not share them with you. Perhaps you are also interested in these kind of stuff. So finally some new textures from me.
I hope you like vintage, 'cause this set contains a lot of old stuff, such as old German newspaper ads, paintings of clocks, an old map of Europe, a key, which is already cut out, saved as a png file and ready to use, and so on. Don't worry... we aren't dead, dear watchers.
We all are just super busy with university, work and business school and don't have so much time left. We hope that you aren't all to disappointed of or mad at us. Real life is just a bit more important, even if we enjoy it very much to make graphics, textures and photos.

Anyhow, I found the time to make some new textures in the last few days.
Because it's autumn in the northern hemisphere, I though some pretty autumn leaves would be lovely for any kind of artsy things. I hope you enjoy this set, as much as I do. :) And please don't forget to comment, if you take it. Thanks.
