huzzah! drawn the last page of plan b #4 today, so all i need do now is get them copied tomorrow and colour n' letter them. so not long for your next bit. which means i have indeed stuck to my monthly schedule so far. oh, and do a cover. turds. i haven't given much thought to the cover for this one. well, i have a couple days to think something up at least.

hmm. i've been greatly enjoying dave johnson's covers for the punisher max series:

which i might go for something like that maybe i dunno hmm. johnson's an excellent cover artist. i bought a couple of 100 bullets issues on the cheap once simply for the cover.

of course i could always jump on the LAME ASS BANDWAGON and do an OBAMA COVER

ehhh i dunno. don't get me wrong, obama's a good thing and i can see why america wants to celebrate it. it's just it's a bit coincicental they want to celebrate it after marvel made a relatively mundane issue of a comic get to a 5th printing and cause a massive boost in sales with their idea of a spider-man/obama cover, thus paving the way for anyone to feature the prez punching it in with underneath the logo of the eponymous hero in question.

actually the savage dragon is pretty good, i'll forgive it. and he is punching it in like they both have total respect for each other. which the probably do, he's the prez and he's a big fucking green supercop. that's both funny AND awesome.

while i'm ragging on obama comics i should mention dan goldman's awesome election '08 coverage book as a) goldman's the future of comics and b) he was doing this WAY before anyone WON the thing SO GO BUY IT IF YOU LIKE AMERICA

here's something i did for an art challenge thread on whitechapel. the description is thus:

Briefly, the aim of this exercise is to produce a four panelprogression of images starting at a very small scale on the first,panning back further with each panel to a very large scale image on thelast. Bonus points for including all four of the following shapes inyour work (and feel free to interpret them fairly loosely if you want)-

fun from drawing on sophback's wall, squid porn galore. it was cool to get to do it, had a couple of issues with smudging pencil lines all over the shop and not using thick enough markers, but it went over well enough. hopefully they want me back for next time :D

tonight i go draw on sophbeck's wall. this is both exciting and mildly intimidating. there's some awesome work already up there and one has the fear that i'll balls it up and i'll look like the mongoloid with the markers. i'm not used to drawing on such a large scale, and also i have these 'new media i'm not used to' fears about making a fuckup of it, like omgwhatifthepensdryup and also external factors like it being too dark to draw or there being too many punters in the way. i think maybe i'm worrying for nothing. but i'm looking forward to it more than i'm spooked about it. i'm drawing squid porn. honest robot!

oh! and i have a new baby watty. she's called oh-comma-plerr (or just plerr) for short and she's a tiny hyperactive bundle of never-sleeping energy.

also: obama needs to stop being on the front of comic covers for no reason. although the one where savage dragon and him were punching it in was both equally funny and crap. i might do an obama cover for plan B. like, veronica and obama fighting sandwich monsters on the moon.

actually i quite like the term 'mongoloid with the markers'. i feel it describes my work well.
