Our Mission

To support the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect in central Illinois by providing financial resources to local agencies engaged in fighting child abuse and neglect.

Why Our Work Matters: Fiscal Year 2025 Stats

CAC Impact Highlights:

  • 72.73% reduction in missed forensic interview referrals indicating a significant improvement in the forensic interview referral process
  • CAC advocates provided nearly 3,000 hours of dedicated advocacy support to children and families
  • 31 criminal cases charged year-to-date, reflecting the critical role of forensic interviews as an investigative tool
  • 14% increase in interviews conducted underscoring our expanding reach and responsiveness to community needs and partner agencies
  • 2,039 students engaged in education programming (2024–2025), fostering a safer, more informed community
  • 22 clients receiving ongoing therapy services to provide healing pathways for children and families navigating trauma

CASA Impact Highlights:

  • 122 volunteers advocated for 188 children, marking a 16% increase in active volunteers and a 20% rise in children served compared to the previous year
  • Foster care advocacy coverage increased from 52% to 68%
  • Volunteer training doubled year over year, from CASA staff training 19 new volunteers in 2024 and 32 in 2025
  • 5,184 volunteer hours contributed in FY25

The above statistics are representative of the services provided by the McLean County Children’s Acvocacy Center (CAC) and McLean County Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Funds raised from CPN support these two organizations so they can provide these services to help local children.

WHAT does CASA do?

•  Advocates for the best interests of the child medically, personally, educationally, and legally
•  Visits at least once a month with the child
•  Verifies that appropriate services are identified, provided, and maintained for the child
•  Verifies the progress of the biological parents
•  Observes parent-child visits
•  Attends all court hearings, Child Family Team Meetings, and Administrative Case Reviews
•  Maintains monthly contact with CASA case supervisor, agency caseworker, and other agencies
•  Authors a court report and makes recommendations to the judge as to the best interest of the child
