McClure’s Survey Team provided construction staking services for the completed reconstruction of Interstates 80 and 380 near Coralville, Iowa—one of the most complex interchange projects in the state. The project included 18 bridge reconstructions occurring concurrently within a single interchange. Among these was a 2,700-foot, 22-span flyover bridge connecting eastbound I-80 to northbound I-380. The remaining 17 bridges were constructed simultaneously by a team of bridge contractors from across Iowa.

To meet the project’s demanding schedule, McClure mobilized multiple survey crews to provide continuous support, helping contractors stay on pace and avoid delays. These field crews were supported by project managers responsible for QA/QC of staking data and managing coordination with the Iowa DOT design team. With construction successfully completed ahead of the 2020 college football season, the project stands as a testament to the efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration of all teams involved.
