Fort Dodge Regional Airport, Hangar ‘A’ Development Program
Fort Dodge, IA
McClure has been a trusted partner of the Fort Dodge Regional Airport Commission since 1978. In March 2016, the Fort Dodge Regional Airport engaged McClure to provide design, bidding, and construction administration services for the Hangar ‘A’ Development Program.
This program involves demolishing the existing T-Hangar Rows ‘A’ and ‘B’ and constructing new corporate box hangars to enhance aircraft storage facilities. The current hangar structures and adjacent pavement are in poor condition and require replacement. Following demolition, a series of modern hangars will be built to accommodate larger business jets, improving both safety and functionality.
The $1.3 million project includes the construction of nine (9) corporate box hangars, each measuring 60’ x 60’. These hangars will feature bi-fold doors, overhead garage doors for vehicle access, pedestrian walk-through doors, and a radiant floor heating system with wall-mounted equipment. The design also incorporates insulated ceilings, walls, and bi-fold doors, along with interior wall paneling for durability. Additionally, industrial-grade gutters, downspouts, and drainage outlets will be installed to manage water runoff, while electrical installations will include lighting fixtures, panelboards, and natural gas connections to ensure reliable operations.Furthermore, the project includes the installation of approximately 4,500 square yards of concrete pavement for the adjacent taxilanes, enhancing accessibility and functionality for aircraft operations.
