This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical understanding required to identify, assess, and control risks associated with Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) in the workplace.
It supports businesses and workers to meet their obligations under current Work Health and Safety legislation, while implementing effective control measures to protect the health and safety of workers.
This training is officially recognised and approved by SafeWork SA under Regulation 529CD(4) of the Work Health & Safety Regulations 2012.

- Identification of materials and products containing crystalline silica
- Relevant legislation, guidelines, and industry standards
- Health risks and long-term consequences of silica exposure
- Workplace exposure standards
- Understanding and using Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Application of the hierarchy of controls
- Systems to prevent or minimise exposure
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing hazard controls

Participants should have a basic level of literacy and numeracy.
