Btw, a bit off topic, but icon makers/lovers - is anyone else having trouble with the bulk icon uploader on Photobucket? (I haven't used it for months, so I don't know how long it's been since it was introduced) It keeps freezing on me, so it's been insanely frustrating to get a post up. I've been so busy over the past couple of weeks (that's a regular occurrence, I should add!) so I haven't been able to do anything LJ wise lately, including commenting here - thanks again for everything in regards to that last post, it was wonderful to hear your insights. On the other hand, a couple of things caught my eye last week, and this was the finished result...

Something very feminine! Just gearing up for spring in Australia, and there's a gorgeous nectarine tree in my backyard that's starting to bloom. I took some photos today, played with them a bit, and they came out quite nicely. I've found these textures work well against dull backgrounds. Go nuts!

Firstly - thank you so much for the wonderful response to the last batch, I was completely blown away! ;)

I've always wanted to do one of these.... ;) I finally got myself a new scanner - but it's also a shockingly bad one (Epson - I'm surprised), so unfortunately, I'm limited as to what I can and can't scan. Anyhow, this is the first time I've ever attempted making resources, so I'd really love to hear your feedback. If this turns out to be successful, I'll definitely post more in the future. Enjoy!

I've noticed how popular that collage text/notepaper thing has become around here, so I thought I might add to that. Scouring my garden shed last month, I found some old maps from around the world, translative dictionaries, that sort of thing. I've also added in some more modern scans (including a very, very battered copy of the first HP novel.) It's only a batch of ten this time around, but if you guys are interested, I'll get some more happening in the future.

The 70's. They're old, tacky and horribly outdated - I love it. I found an old Maths textbook (circa 1975) floating around, and the art in it was just so... you don't see it anymore. I earmarked the pages that were decent enough, and this was the result. I'm not sure what you can do with these scans, but they might come in handy!

Hi there! It's been such a long time - I'm sorry. I had a bit of a longer holiday than expected, so it's lovely to be back. There's a brand new layout for this place, and hopefully some resources coming very soon. Hope to post here much more often! ;)

:S! Runnning late, running late... Trying to get the graphics mojo back, I thought this might be a nice time to try out a request thread for the first time, if anyone's interested. Will take:

*First 50 icons (if we can actually get to that many, mind you...)
*First 10 colourbar requests *Filled

*If it's anything remotely House related (including actors), you won't need to provide pictures.
*I can't do icons from season three Doctor Who and anything past Words & Deeds of House, sorry! However, any promo pics are fine. *Currently in Australia, that's about where we're up to.

*In terms of fandoms, I can only do animated icons of House, Friends, or season 2 ABOFAL, as that's all the footage I have access to, unfortunately. Unless you can provide a clip.

I really can't find the inspiration to finish this batch. I think because of how childlike and innocent these wound up, I'm just not happy with the overall look. I'll post up the ones that are fairly decent (which isn't exactly many!), and move on. A warning that these are quite vibrant.

I'll Be There For You...

Hi there and phew! I don't think I'll be doing another of these again any time soon. I've just always wanted one myself, so I thought it might be nice to share it here as well. A Friends mood theme (130 moods), with pics from all ten seasons. Behind the cut you'll find the link to download the .zip file and instructions on how to install. Enjoy - it certainly wasn't easy to go through the entire series on DVD and cap each mood, but hopefully it's worth it!) Previews: Click here to download the moodtheme Instructions:
1. Download the zip folder, and upload all of its contents to a picture hosting site (photobucket.com is probably your best bet for multiple files)
2. While logged in on Live Journal, go to your 'Customize Journal' page.
3. Scroll down - at the bottom of your page (in the Look and Feel tab), you'll see the heading 'Mood Icons'. Click 'Custom Mood themes' in the sentence below it.
4. Type in the name of your new theme (e.g Friends Theme), and click 'Create'.
5. Now paste the URLs of your hosted pictures into the correct URL boxes, making sure that you set the 'height' to 50, and the 'width' to 66 for each mood. Also remember to de-tick the boxes 'Inherit from...' etc.
6. Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of your screen.
7. Finally, click the button marked 'Use', in between 'Edit' and 'Delete'

Please remember to credit either maytripper or ellington_sneak (user info's usually the place to credit for moodthemes ;).

Why Maytripper?
Three things. I figured my user name 'ellington' sounded like a name you'd find on a Monopoly board, so I whipped one out (okay - and I adore the graphics on vintage board games), went through the names and wound up with Mayfair, which sounded nice. It was taken, so I went through my CD collection and wound up with John Mayer's Continuum in one hand and a Beatles album in the other. Day Tripper, Mayer, Mayfair - here we are!

What fandoms do you make art out of?
it's really a mixed bag. Admittedly I don't watch ~~enough~~ TV, so a lot of the shows I seem to love are the cult favourites (eg arrested development, 30 rock). I'm more a movie/mini series than series gal.

Do you make animated icons?
On occasion, yes. I'm relatively new to the whole process, but hopefully you'll find some here when there's a great scene to work with.

I'd like to request something - how do I go about doing it?
I'm going to make any request posts members only as a thank you for joining the community, so it's best to do just that and keep an eye out for a request post when the time comes.

How do I credit?
Basically, once you've uploaded a userpic, type the following code into the following box:

The First Icon Post

Very, very apprehensive as this is my first ever icon post to the community - welcome! Not really much to say, except thank you again for the lovely support and just for joining, it honestly means the world. It's definitely been motivation for me to get these up and running. Previews:

A couple of things to mention - these didn't turn out exactly as planned. I was planning to focus on Hugh, but just with colours and ideas that sprung up, these are very retro and vibrant for the most part, a little tongue in cheek. And sorry about the complete absence of Foreman! It's just been hard to find the right caps to work with, I've been lacking in inspiration for the poor guy, so that'll have to be something to focus on next. Plenty of love for Hugh on the other hand, I can assure you ;)!

I might leave the John Mayer icons off this batch for now and post it separately, as there's too many ideas floating about... and it'd be wonderful to make use of rockcandy83 's amazing pics. All the best - feedback is greatly appreciated. Hopefully there's something here for everyone ;) - enjoy!

Welcome to the community - it's currently very much a work in progress, and I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate/maintain this place, but hopefully it'll become one you'll enjoy visiting.
