The Monthly Crunch

April 2026 Issue

Happy April! Suddenly it's very hot and gross to be outside for very long, nature is constantly trying to suffocate or murder me in some new creative respiratory way, and colors are blooming beautifully and steadily! Most days it rains where I live and sometimes when it rains it's very scary and torrential which makes sitting inside on the couch with Zenny even more rewarding. In spring I spend more time cleaning because the light hits everything differently and you can see all the dust and I hate that. I spend more time at play and experimenting with ideas and using my hands to make stuff.

My morning walks usually become sunset walks, chasing the early evening vibes that are usually a little calmer than the daytime spring vibes. I take more walks in places where there is wind and water so I can feel the breeze and keep from overheating. I visit more gardens to witness the waking of color.

We are going through a lot right now in various ways, all of us. Every time there are times like these, it feels like there have never been times quite like these before. Check in with your people, find a day to do things you love, and make sure you're getting enough rest.
