very disappointing how this once great programme has become. No real break-through development since years but a unpleasant almost forced-to-be subscription service.

Success went to Stan's head! I was a user of this software from the very beginning and bought over years all different software. Unfortunately with the annual renewal plan the SCAM started.
When the license is about to expire you are bombarded with notifications to update, no mention anywhere what your existing serial is still valid.
The scam is that this valid serial gets constantly lost in the programme, hence you have to re-enter the serial number. And, no surprise, sometimes you are not able to but get notified that you are up for renewal. This game was played two years in a row.
When complained to Stan Busk, explaining that this upgrade scenario is mega unethical, he was very unpleasant and kicked us out from the upgrade plan. Now we have regular free update notifications but when downloading the software it does not open. Super annoying and time-wasting.
MaxProgs "forced" update plans are illegal in Europe (company registered in Spain).
As we have worked since decades with this software we are quite inflexible in moving to another platform.
Our recommendation - STAY OUT and look for ethical alternatives.

The new update system is a SCAM and each year you have the same problems. Client since 20+ years with them. When the update plan expires so does as well the serial number. When you like to re-enter it there are constant messages like fake serial number, I have to downgrade (despite having the right version, etc). All done just for one purpose - to renew the license. Really unethical and desperate.

Just to get the program I purchased, I am bombarded with the supposed need to download another app just to get the Mailer, not good. After not even being able to log into said accessory app, I ended deleting it and just downloading Mailer from the browser. Now I can't even get my registration code...waiting for the 24 hour mark? I need to use the program without Mailers unregistered features, please just have the activation code available immediately after purchase. I don't doubt the power of the program, but just getting started has been a real hassle.

Thanks for the honest reviews - I was tempted, looking at some kind of program that can be independent of OSX Contacts/Address book as a stand alone marketing email system for client contacts. The deveoper seems to be a problem, and the program outdated. I'll keep looking elsewhere.
