Instructions for Using Sporeprints:
Sporeprints provide a classic and practical method for growing your own Magic Mushroom cultures. Although modern solutions such as culture ampoules are more resistant to contamination, spore prints remain popular for their authenticity and the interactive experience they provide. Each spore print contains millions of viable spores that can grow into a thriving mycelial network. Follow these five simple steps to begin your spore print growing adventure.
Step 1: Preparing the Petri Dish
Start with a sterile Petri dish containing an agar solution. You can make this solution yourself or purchase ready-made agar plates. Make sure you open the dishes under sterile conditions to avoid contamination.
Step 2: Add Spores
Are you using a spore print? Then gently scrape a small amount of spores onto the surface of the agar in the Petri dish. For a liquid spore solution, use a sterile syringe to place a small drop on the agar base.
Step 3: Incubate the Spores
Tightly close the Petri dish and place it in a controlled environment where the spores can germinate and develop into mycelium. This process can take several days to weeks depending on the species and growing conditions.
Step 4: Isolate Healthy Mycelium
Once the mycelium is spread across the surface of the agar, look for healthy, well-developed areas. Use a sterile scalpel to gently select a small piece of vigorous mycelium.
Step 5: Transfer Mycelium to a New Medium
Cut a piece of healthy mycelium measuring approximately 6 mm by 6 mm. Transfer this to a new growth medium, such as another agar plate or suitable substrate. Be sure to also handle this medium under sterile conditions.
Step 6: Mycelium Propagation
Repeat the isolation and transfer process until you achieve a clean, evenly growing culture. Once established, you can further grow the mycelium or use it for other applications.
Equipments:
Petri dishes with agar solution
Sterile syringe or scalpel
Spore print or spore solution
Clean, sterile working environment
Important Tips:
Sterile techniques are essential to prevent contamination.
Use protective clothing such as gloves and a lab coat, and preferably work under a laminar flow hood.
Handle all materials carefully to ensure the integrity of your mycelium culture.
By following these steps and maintaining good hygiene, you will be on your way. towards growing vibrant and healthy mycelium cultures. Enjoy the journey of growth and discovery!
PLEASE NOTE:
Magic Mushrooms also naturally contain the substances psilocybin and psilocin. Psilocybin and psilocin are hallucinogens. Hallucinogens are substances that alter consciousness and can induce hallucinations. When consuming the mushrooms, take the effect of these substances into account and always keep the mushroom species out of the reach of children because of these substances!
