„Apple HFS+ File Compression

– File compression has been added to the HFS+ file system.
– Compression was designed to be used with Apple System and Application files that are normally read-only/updatable. These files are not normally copied by users, however, if they are, the copies will be expanded to their normal size.
– This is not a new file system format and does not require volumes to be repartitioned.“

„Our Idea

The key here is simple: „Taking baby steps is better than taking no steps at all!“ We plan on writing 31 iPhone applications in the next 31 days. We will publish both the executable and the source code for each application. Our goal is for each of these applications to be useful, interesting, and straight-forward. Someone considering writing their first iPhone application should be able to look at these applications and „get it“.
Our Plan

If you search, you can find tons of simple code to do specific tasks, like playing a message beep. What you’ll have a harder time finding are simple applications, with source code, that can be the building blocks for new developer’s understanding of mobile development. It’s our hope that in the next 31 days we can do something to help you with that.“
